IP pointed her finger towards a weak spot on the creature's tail. "There, Brynn!"

IP uses Aim Assist on Brynn, causing her next attack to critically hit for triple its damage! The attack will also bypass DR and is now perfectly accurate!

Mira continues her assault on the fleeing Wyvern, attacking with Black Heart once again for another 6d8+14 damage. Currently she has 6 Magra, and will gain an extra in one turn. She also gains a stack of Greed, increasing her Syn by 1 and reducing her DR by 1 as well.

Coral Highlands

Venus returns to the rest of the group. The raptors, on seeing a larger number of foes, elect to cease following him, slinking away into the undergrowth.

The other would-be hunters note that the tracks seem to head toward a sheer cliff face. Squinting at it, they can see the telltale marks of clawed feet landing on the near ledge repeatedly. Looks like it'll be a bit of a climb.

Kraken squints up at the claw marks, shielding his eyes as his other hand drums on his bicep. He holds that pose as he thinks before sighing and looking back to Saejik.
"I don't suppose you brought a grapple as well? Because this'll be difficult if not...."

Ancient Forest

The mechanical spider slows down the wyvern as she flees, and Newton acquires a fresh bauble, one of Tail Slap. It seems. . . toxic. The bauble immediately cements itself as real when Brynn's hulking blade cleaves the tail clean off, and continues to leave a gaping rent in one wing for [132!] damage. The sudden upset of her mass sends her tumbling back to the earth, a screech of pain presaging her impact. The pain only continues as Mira follows up with her sword for another [30] damage, carving a deep gash into the wyvern's side. She groans in pain, flailing on the ground in a desperate attempt to regain her balance and fend off her attackers. The wyvern gets her feet under herself and begins an attempt to stumble away, wings outstretched and frantically flapping in an attempt to gain lift.

Another roar very similar to the Rathian's sounds in the distance.

"Yes, as a matter of fact," Saejik says to Kraken, as he motions his Stormtroopers forward, "It's too tight for the Lambda; we'll have to set lines and rappel down the slope.  Damnation.  I'm getting too old for this sort of thing."

The strange spider's head jerks upward in a sudden, jerky motion that causes the rest of it's body to sway slightly as it hears the sound of the other roar.

Once again, the spider vaults into the air into a high, leaping arc, aiming to crash down upon the dragon as it takes off and impale it's uninjured wing! As it does so, it's small, tinny voice rings out from it's high spot in the air, somehow containing an air of menace that the small sound clip didn't previously have.

Mira

Watching the Rathian slowly stumble away, Mira made to follow... Only to pause for a brief moment as a distant, similar roar rang out in the distance, causing the Black Knight to glance in its direction. It seems like Brynn's theory was right, possibly, and their mate is making their way to them. In a way, it was annoying, having to be kept from their main objective for even longer, but the Rathian, for its size, wasn't too difficult to take down. Perhaps the next wyvern would be a bit more stimulating.

Mira uses a single Magra for her Cell Repair, healing her for 3d6+14 HP. She now has 8 Magra, and will gain an extra in two turns unless her Magra is still full.

Spoiler: Brynn's Status (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Loadout (click to show/hide)

A twinge of something else finally hit the drake as she watched their opponent flail and flounder so pitifully. She kept a careful eye on the Rathian's wounds, and at long last noticed there wasn't even a hint of the flesh beginning to mend itself back together, no bones regrowing nor scales reforming. Not even the distant roar, seemingly in confirmation of her earlier hypothesis, could tear her eyes away from the sight before her.

"Oh..." She muttered, "You... cannot heal, can you? That... would explain much."

No intellect. No healing factor. No magic or magic adjacent power to speak of. She could no longer blind herself to the obvious. This was no true dragon, only a poor beast that was minding it's own business before she came around and goaded them all into ambushing it. Fighting among her own kind or those close enough to it were one thing, but this? The unprovoked slaughter of a simple being clearly weaker than her, let alone her paired with a party of companions?

Shameful. Simply Shameful. Yet Brynn could already tell from the way the beast moved; there was no going back anymore. If she escaped it would be as a likely cripple, incapable, or at the very least, greatly impeded in hunting. The kinder fate was to simply finish what foolishness she had started, and do it quickly. To that end she solemnly raised her blade and tightened her grip, knowing full well that once the wyvern's mate arrived, he'd likely be enraged and they'd have no choice but to destroy him as well.

Two black marks upon Brynn's conduct for the price of one, that.

Brynn attacks the Rathian's head with Arisen, dealing 6d10+14 damage! She probably doesn't Regen anything this turn because she's already at full hp

IP inserted a fresh magazine as she said to Brynn: "Sounds like another one incoming. Be prepared for their arrival."

IP reloads her Auto 9/45.

A bauble!  I did not expect a bauble, it isn't dead yet!

The bird swoops down and plucks the bauble neatly in its beak.  Newton then swiftly rearranges his feathers as he puts the greenish-purplish marble-like sphere into his chest feathers.  For a moment, it seems to almost consume the bauble, puffing the chest feathers outward, while the giant crow does a swift drop and tight turn in the air.

After that, Newton hears the loud roar, and flies level for a moment, pondering.

Uh oh, sounds like another one!

Yeah, fighting one isn't too bad, but fighting two.. that could get tricky.  Twice as many attacks might be too many to dodge!

If there was only one.. well, maybe I could simply take the hits for a long time.  Two is really bad!  Much more dangerous.

It's probably coming after this one.  This one might be its buddy.  Or mate, they could be a pair.

You know, that wound looks pretty bad, maybe it can't move too well.  The other one will probably have to come for this one, not the other way around.

I wonder.. maybe I can get in the way.  Block the newcomer, not the old one.

It might even be safer.. only face one at a time, alone.

And they might think it's the brave choice, holding off the reinforcements solo!  Not the safe one.

Newton breaks off from the fight, flying through the air, heading towards the roar of the newcomer.

While the others set their repelling lines Cell approaches the edge of the cliff and looks out over the rest of the highlands below them.  He keeps an eye out for anything approaching from below, or odd movements, as well as anything that might swoop in to attack from the air while they repel.

Assuming they make it down safely he'll slide down using his own powers.

The giant spider and Brynn both strike the spider for [28] and [50] damage, respectively. This puts a hole through the Rathian's wing, and splits apart the hardened carapace protecting her head, but she manages to buffet her attackers before lifting herself into the air. She almost loses flight, awkwardly moving in a sort of aerial stumble; if she isn't stopped this turn, she will escape.\

IP reloads.

Mira takes a moment to heal, recovering [29] HP.

Newton, meanwhile, flies up to greet their new guest. A very similar-looking wyvern, but this one in red and black, roars at him as it beelines for the Rathian. The tail has a few bony spikes, in comparison to the Rathian's forest of barbs, but the talons look much sharper. Rathalos will arrive in one turn. . . . As he looks closer, several spines that seem to be pointed the wrong way make themselves apparent. The back spines probably shouldn't be growing from the beast's flank, either.

The climb up the cliff, while strenuous, is fairly uneventful. It sounds like there are some animals panicking among the mushroom forest at the lowest elevation, but that's far from being a problem. . . probably.

When they reach the top, they see a sort of sandy canyon, with the walls being composed of stacked shelves of coral. They just keep going up, more walkable surfaces interspersed between mossy cliff faces and sheer drops. More signs of their quarry are here, the same birdlike footprints looking somewhat fresh in the soft sand. The walls bear several scratches as well, as if some beast repeatedly clawed at them.

Huh.. those spines look odd.  Is it some kind of mutant?  Are they growing the wrong way?

Nothing like that.  It's just hurt.  Something pointy hit it.

Ahh, that would make sense.

Don't think it needs to be stopped now.  The other one's almost dead, trying to escape.  It'll just be one-on-one.  And the others seem pretty much fine.

Right.  So stealing it is!

Those claws look nasty.  Better take those!  Use Yoink! on the sharp talons, stealing them (if equipment) or an action related to them (if not.)

(There should still be one dodge available from earlier.)

Following the others' lead, IP fired upon the heavily wounded dragon, aiming for center mass. It was important to reduce the number of foes when fighting more than one enemy - and it looked like they'd be doing that soon.

IP fires upon the Rathian's torso with her Auto 9/45. She deals (6d4+7) * 1.3 damage.
