Preparations were made, some awkward moments with the flying beasts were had (particularly when it came to the prospect of transporting Saejik and his crew, given the sheer quantity required), and the party set out to their destination.

Ancient Forest
Mira, Brynn, IP, Newton

Fortunately, there was no oddity to sort out with getting the enormous dragonkin transported, as they simply had to walk out the gates of Astera to be within the forest. The area immediately outside was fairly clear, with a few large quadrupedal creatures that seemed more leery of the party than anything else wandering through and grazing. The ground quickly became a large slope, with one direction going south and down to a small beach with a few bipedal, saurian-looking creatures. One of them stood about the height of a man, with a larger, heavier head than the others. To the west, there seemed to be fewer trees, a small crag seeming to lead to another more open area. To the north, the forest quickly becomes dense and dark, trees overtaking the ground as soon as it levels.

Move to a different area, Explore the current one, Gather resources, or Hunt the monsters in the area?)

Coral Highlands
Cell, Saejik, Kraken, Venus

Their transportation dropped them on a point about halfway up the enormous highland. The immediate area was broad and flat, giving good lines of sight everywhere but the north, which had a vine-laden wall between the group and whatever sat above. To the south was a precipitous drop overlooking what seemed to be the caps of enormous mushrooms, or something similar. To the west, a series of elevation changes seemed to lead to a cave, while to the east, the ground gently sloped down and wrapped around a tower of coral. True to the name, the entire biome seemed to be a coral reef, save for its position on land.

Move, Explore, Gather, or Hunt?

Newton

Moving deeper into the forest..  and examine the fruit.

Newton doesn't have much to do, aside staring at the surrounding forest, checking out the beach sand and big plants, but the deeper forest seems safer with likely more hiding places.. the large open area maybe being a bit too open, given all the large flying creatures about.

Oh, and the Fruit!  Must see what kind of fruit that was.

Brynn
Briefly sniffing the wind, the dragon princess soon set off after the unusually large bird that had accompanied them. "Onward friends, We'll not find any respectable game so close to civilization! The forest depths hide a great many creatures- I once saw the most adorable drake flying through while I waited."

Mira

With only a glance at the surrounding creatures, Mira silently marched off towards the forest as well. As Brynn had pointed out, their quarry wouldn't be so close to the settlement. They would need to go deeper to actually find what they were looking forward.

Mira also moves deeper into the forest

IP

The android nods and follows, eyes up and weapon at the ready.

IP is following Brynn and Mira.

Kraken

Explore

The operator looks around for a few moments, taking in the natural beauty and rather excellent vantage point before he turns to the others. "Gonna do a sweep of this area just in case, then I'm planning on going south, to recon the area with the mushrooms."

"I agree," Saejik nods to Kraken, "Before we attempt anything more strenuous, we need to get a feeling for the lay of the land."

Captain Saejik will explore the area.

The device on Cell's arm rings out in mono-tone once more.
"I'll keep watch."
Then he does just that, following closely behind Saejik and Kraken using his Air Slide ability to keep an elevated vantage and look out for any incoming threats.

Venus

Having been divided into two groups of four, Venus and his compatriots set out toward their new surroundings. Each of the members of his group had been allocated to individual tasks; one was keeping watch while the other two went to scout the area. The coral-shaped structures near the east interested Venus, as did the southern area bustling with mushrooms; he decided it was best to split up and cover as much ground as possible before returning for a plan of action.

Venus will move toward the east./b]

Ancient Forest
Mira: Move into Forest
Brynn: Move into Forest
IP: Move into Forest
Newton: Move into Forest

Taking little interest in their immediate surroundings, the party proceeds further into the wooded area. The terrain quickly becomes harder to navigate, the ground rising and falling at unexpected time, and the paths choked with dense undergrowth. They break out into a slightly clearer area, this one with what looks like a few mushrooms large enough to stand on growing near a fallen tree. More notable, however, is the presence of a green-scaled wyvern. It doesn't seem to be hostile right now, but it also hasn't noticed them yet. A few exits lead deeper into the forest, one of which seems to lead higher, while the other is toward more level ground.

Newton finds the fruit to be a large thing not unlike an overgrown orange, with a firm skin and an elongated shape.

Move, Explore, Gather, or Hunt?

Coral Highlands
Cell: Keep watch
Saejik: Explore
Kraken: Explore
Venus: Move to Coral Forest

Saejik and Kraken examine the surrounding area. Despite the plateau looking a bit plain, a bit of exploration reveals several things of note. A few mushrooms that smell clean and pure grow in shadier spots, nestled against natural coral walls, and an odd moss glows pink in several places on the ground and along the cliff. They also find tracks on the ground, looking a bit like a massive bird took off from the center of the area.

Cell hears a distant, piercing cry. It's around this time that he notices that there isn't much flying at this altitude; everything has kept below the cover of plant life save for a few large bugs(?) that glide idly by far, far above their heads.

Venus

The various corals seem to close in around his head, forming a canopy some distance above. A sudden drop nearly catches him off guard; the area he's found himself in has several coral shelves serving as ground for the plants and animals living within. A few blue creatures stalk the area, watching the stranger warily. It looks like one path leads back to where he came, while another leads further down.

Brynn
The draconoid's eyes twinkled as they fell upon the green wyvern. She grinned practically ear to ear as she ensured they were positioned upwind from the beast, keeping her especially large form well hidden in the underbrush.
"This one is remarkably like the red wyvern I first witnessed overhead," she whispered to the rest of the party, steadily sizing the predator up with almost worrying enthusiasm, "I am certain they are of the same species. Perhaps male and female? A mated pair, even? Such beautiful emerald scales she has, it would almost be a shame to bring her down. Almost."

A subtle, clicking reptilian hiss escaped her with that last syllable. Her tail, though she tried to control it, writhed quietly behind her. It was hard to tell whether she was more possessed by genuine excitement for battle or an instinctual rivalry that beckoned her to venture forth and establish dominance. It was likely not even Brynn herself knew, but either way she'd likely not hesitate to act for much longer...

Newton

The obvious enthusiasm the large being has towards attacking the.. larger being makes it clear that conflict is inevitable.  Newton sits in the tree branch, staring quietly, a thousand thoughs running through his mind.

It's probably for the best.  I don't know how strong these creatures actually are, and these people look powerful enough to defeat most creatures.  No better way to learn than through doing.

..plus none of them can fly, so running away if things go bad should be safe.

..but the creature can fly so it might chase after someone else who flies.

..I'd better make sure to help out.

..I wonder if it's tasty.

Lets go with Hunt.

If surprise round combat orders are necessary, Newton will Yoink! the wyvern, aiming to put one of its offensive abilities on cooldown for three turns, even if it doesn't have a cooldown.

Mira

Though Mira clearly didn't make much of an attempt to conceal her movement through the forest, even she paused when the green wyvern came into view, the black knight crouching a bit as she observed the creature. Though she tried to focus her attention on the paths ahead, Mira's eyes kept returning to the wyvern, sizing it up herself as a hand slowly went to her sword's hilt. Of course, even with her attention fixed on the creature, Mira was quick to snap to Brynn when the later spoke up, her red eyes narrowing underneath her helmet,

"Our mission is to find whatever agitating the local Anjanath. Unless we're certain this thing is our target, then killing it would be a waste of time" Mira stated, though from her body posture, it was clear that Mira was also ready to jump in and bring the green-scaled wyvern down. Especially with the possibility of its 'mate' coming along, if Brynn's theory about the wyvern was correct. She did need a bit of a warmup.

Brynn
"Your words ring true, Knight of Black," Brynn whispered without taking her eyes off the beast, "but what concern is time when the day is yet young? Pray consider: would it not prove prudent to test our might against the lesser creatures of this world, before we challenge ones as glorious as the Anjanath or the mighty Rajang? I sense your power, and I know you will heal almost as well as I, should it come to it. The experience we gain from this slaugh- I mean... honorable duel may well prove valuable when our targets finally arrive. And if by some misfortune they do not, we shall at least return to yonder settlement with something to show for our efforts."

Her tail continued to writhe in the underbrush the entire time, so active it resembled a highly agitated, alarmingly large snake. The she-wyvern had oh so pretty scales. Brynn wondered, how did they measure up to hers? Could they regrow at a mere moment's notice? Could they withstand the blows of mere humans like it was nothing, falling only to the likes of dragon claws and the heaviest machines of war? Would they keep that vibrant hue into perpetuity, regardless of what conditions they faced? There was only way to find out.

"What will it be, Knight of Black and Smooth Automaton? I will think no lesser of you if you choose to abstain. But I cannot speak for the She-wyvern, she may well laugh at your reluctance. Such dishonor to my comrades would be unforgiveable."

IP

"Instructor Prototype," the android whispered. "Do not worry. If you wish to fight, I will assist you. This is not a duel of any kind - dishonor is..." She shook her head, then shook her head. "No, nevermind. I'll assist you in any fights you enter into, this one included. Let me know when you're preparing your strongest attacks - I may be able to aim them at weakspots to improve damage output."
