The Bay 12 Games Report, August 1st, 2021Mission Status By now you may be catching on. There is a reckoning coming like a runaway train full of high fructose corn syrup ready to spill across a busy highway. That’s right. Our success will take years to clean up, and all those unsuspecting motorists on the gaming sites will be stuck in the sticky mess, but sweet and satisfying once we transform it into an addictive sugary drink. Get ready for your thirst for the ultimate Ur-game to be satisfied!
I’m sure if you are reading this, you have been invested in the future of Bay 12 Games. Your help throughout the years is the reason Dwarf Fortress has become the legend of a game that is the most arcane and difficult to understand. It is your help, both monetary and simply getting the word out, that has allowed us to bring DF into a new phase. I’m sure both new and existing players will be happily surprised with the new ease at which a game, once near impossible to fully navigate, is now so easy to understand that the extent of our vision will be shared with the world.

Fun with Numbers Thanks to everybody that helped out last month! I just finished the Nobles and Administrators tab in the info hub, and now we're finally to the Labor tab! On top of encapsulating some of the settings screens from the old version, like the kitchen and stone settings, this will be our main replacement for the labor list, so it should be pretty exciting to see what happens! You can already assign a master to a workshop and handle work orders vs. that building, but this doesn't handle all sorts of labor issues, from mining to engraving to medicine to farming to hauling. We're not going to fulling navigate the issues with civilian equipment until we get to the military stuff, but we should be handling everything else this month.
