Yeah.  I broke a goblin's wrist using a Large once.  I was hoping for something a little more drastic, but it was actually quite fittingly minor.

I just throw loads of socks. Might not do much damage, but they're easy to get and I love using socks as a weapon.

That one was mine.

I should really fire that thing up again and go depopulate a pocket world or something if I get time.

A sea lamprey corpse. I threw it at a cougar and it caved his skull in.

I once threw a Monarch Butterfly

Of course it missed

But it is the only Monarch Butterfly I ever saw... period... So it has to be worth SOME points right?

I killed a giant with a burning wooden bolt. It stuck into his left upper arm and it burned him to death. I ended up with yellow hands tho.

My personal favorite is throwing a Fullblade.

What is a fullblade you ask? Take a human. Now take a greatsword. Now make that human a size 9 giant. Make the sword proportional.

Needless to say, my size five (nearly) Hammerlord had a blast throwing that with his mighty arms. The weapon actually propellsed enemies better than his hammer!

I had an artifact sock that I liked throwing around.

t''s so sad.  It''s as if De Beers as invaded Dwarf Fortress.  I nearly cried when I saw how valued and rare diamonds were in Dwarf Fortress.

It's funny, because I was just reading through the thread before posting my epic throw, and this is quite relevant to my own story.

I was in a goblin fortress, in the deepest level, sneaking around with a sprained hip. I turned a corner and ran right into a goblin hammer lord. I stupidly decided I'd try to take him down in melee with my Competent sword, shield, and armour skills. Needless to say, he blocked my strikes and broke both of my arms. I hobbled away, thanking Pregnancy (which is life, in a word) for my Perfectly Agile speed. Unfortunately for me, I ran into a dead end room. No stairs. There was no way I could get past the Hammer Lord, as it was a 5x5 room and he was standing in the doorway (no sneaking for me).

Me: I must admit that you are better than I am.
GHL: Then why are you smiling?
Me: Because I know something that you do not know.
GHL: And what is that?
Me: I...am not handed! *opens wide and proceeds to fire crossbow bolts out of his throat.*
GHL: dsfargeg
Me: *fires 4 bolts, the last one piercing his heart.*

Legendary throwing skill is AWESOME.

I would've just let him kill me, and start rolling up guys to fill up his kill list.

It is 100% possible for a Talented Swordsman, Skilled Shield User, and Swimmer/Thrower, to take down a goblin swordmaster in melee.  I have done it, and I didn't lose any limbs.

Well yeah, but this is a Hammer Lord, not a Swordmaster. =P I took down a titan in melee as a Talented (level 11) sword/shield user. With 3 hits. Ultra-Mighty, baby! But honestly, it's way more fun to think of my adventurer as reaching over to his quiver, grabbing a crossbow bolt between his teeth, and hurling it as hard as possible using his mouth. And having it actually work. It's one of those things that you ONLY get with Dwarf Fortress. One of those things I truly love about the game.

This is got to be the weirdest topic in the forums for someone that isn't familiar with DF.

I'd love to hear the thoughts of some average (as in non-DF-player) human who was linked here without any clue what the forums were about. For example the "severed children's heads"-part and "clobbering-harpies-to-death-with vomit"-part might make some people have deep mental struggles.

This topic also is one of the funniest on the forums and summarizes Adventure Mode terrifyingly well.

I'm really surprised it got this far, typically those 'biggest baddest' forum topics just die out after 1 or 2 pages.
