One note about the collection toilet. If we add a magma river underneath everything flushed down will be burnet, or steamed, perfekt for cleaning up goblin invaders.

The airlock may get flooded, but it probably won't get deeper than 3 water (and when subjected to the large space won't go very far). Based on how water behaved in the movies and how Toady said he eased the CPU processing for liquid simulation.

Ramps just act like floors with respect to everything except movement, where they let you climb up to a floor above any adjacent wall.  I haven't done anything interesting with falling from great heights for units or items at this point.

I'd suggest that a miner could work a "damp rock" into a floodgate using a prepared floodgate as fuel.

Hmm, we need grates or metal grilles so we can slap one over the drain.

Status (07/24/2007): Next Release Task List: Rewalling, reflooring, stair/ramp building are underway.

See? Once people stop asking for it 24/7, (at least on the forums), it gets implemented.

Wow I always thought of rewalling as something that wouldn't happen forever... and now it's almost here... This game really has come a long way since I first played it... damn I sound like an old person.

Wow. Not only am I not the only person awake on the DF fourms, but I'm third to post about how

REWALLING

is in progress!
I'd say something about lives and having them if the statements I would make didn't apply to me double.

At most the airlock will get 1-2 water in it, not enough for a dwarf to drown in.

Also, rewalling is cool.

Personally, I'm worried about re-walling - it's an idea that came from the fans, rather than from Toady. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, but it seems like it could have some far-reaching gameplay effects, which would be coming in on top of the changes caused by the move to 3D.

Rewalling has always been planned. Believe me, we talked about on these forums shortly after the first released version.

Anyway, at least for me, the primary use of rewalling is not defence related. It will be architecturally related.
