Orf, in the meanwhile, stared wide-eyed at the frenzied soldier nearby.

"You still gonna keep me from harm, right??" He then moved away and opened the door.

The man inside screamed.

Orf screamed.

"Pleasdonothurtmeiwillpayyou!!" The older man yelled, clutching a bottle. Orf raised his hands in peaceful gesture.

"Whoa, who's talking about hurting? Who the heck are you, man?"

"A-Albertus Corlann... I own this place. Wait, are you here to rescue me??"

"Uhhh, yeah. Let's go with that." Orf pointed at the man inside the storeroom. "Mister Casslan, I've found Sir Purplecloak I believe!"

"Already on it!" The boy makes a U turn at the sign of the prince getting lanced by one of their allies. Ugh, he really doesn't enjoy doing this. How hard can it be to find the source of this nonsense anyways?

Argos moves to 7-7 and smacks Militia A

"Thank you, Alixia." Prince Aland then stepped towards the rescuee. "You're Sir Purplecloak?"

"Y-Yes..."

"Like Casslan said, tell us how to thwart this... this madness."

"I don't know..."

"What??" The Prince furrowed his brows. "It's clearly the work of some of your 'trinkets' you're dealing in!"

"I don't know I said! Maybe one of my servants did something wrong or touched something they shouldn't, I am not to blame! I was cleaning up my old coins in here when I suddenly heard screaming and I peeked out of the storeroom and saw that the servants started fighting and stabbing each other. Obviously they've awoken something evil or brought it in here without my knowledge! So I locked myself inside and drank some of this water I had stashed for emergencies..."

"...why didn't you share it with the affected servants!?"

"Are you crazy!? I would get stabbed, or even killed, at worst!" The Prince glared at the unscrupulous merchant.

"Alright. Back to the task at hand... is there any other storeroom you keep your merchandise at?"

"Well, there's one in the other corner of my manor, but I do not keep any magic items in there. Just some pieces of art that I've... recovered. Some paintings, an old statue, few lovely tapestries that would surely look nice in your-"

"Orf!"

"Sir!"

"Open that door." Prince Aland pointed at the door at the end of the corridor. "Take Ivy and Argos with you and look for something - anything - in that storeroom that might be the cause of all this."

"Sir, yes sir!"

"Casslan, keep an eye out for Mister Corlann here. Make sure he doesn't get in harm's way... or that he doesn't wander away by accident. Others will come with me and check adjacent rooms, just in case, and Alixia please heal Ivy before she goes searching."

Ivy simply nodded, then averted her gaze from her previous handiwork and made her way along the corridor, hand on the wall.

"Be careful, Aland." If she seemed more genuine than usual it was probably the blood loss speaking.

"Sir Corlann, you have heard the prince." Casslan spoke in a dark tone while casually pushing aside the crazed militiaman's lance with his shield.

Argos nods towards the prince orders, give him a thumbs up and made his way to the door.


"Alright Orf, work your magic on the door! The quicker we can smash that source the more people we can save!" He emphasized his statement by slamming his fist into his open palm.
