Honestly makes me think of my comments on using locks on people with weapons.

It only works if you put locks on all the people using weapons, and even then you're still putting the weak at the mercy of the strong.

It also bans the use of automobiles, cutlery, and pretty much anything.  People started killing one another with their bare hands, then moved on to rocks and sticks, then sharpened those rocks and sticks, then figured out how to use the sticks to make the rocks go further, and only very recently figured out how rub the rocks and sticks together to make a spark that projected one or more rocks along the stick.  Dude, people just suck.  It ain't the weapons.
