Longest power outage I've ever been through was a week no sleeping all the way through that, but then again that was years ago and I was little and battery powered stuff wasn't thing I cared about.

Signature updated, and I'll put it here for posterity:

They/them
No justice, no peace.
Quote from: Fallen London, one Unthinkable Hope
This one didn't want to be who they was. On the Surface – it was a dull, unconsidered sadness. But everything changed. Which implied everything could change.

I was happy with my gender stuff, but I sorta missed when my signature had "black lives matter".  My gender stuff is one thing, but I rate my egalitarianism higher.

And I've seen so much injustice, lately.  Even justice delayed.  I think my problems with that can be simplified into a very simple slogan:
No justice, no peace.

I don't make the rules, liberals.  It was you who test the natural law.

The "Memory of a Much Lesser Self" has a good one too.

"You cannot begin to measure the length of your journey unless you recall the person you once were. How much weaker, how much more fragile."

On an unrelated note, Red Mars (and Kim Stanley Robinson in general) uses a saying I quite like:

"Kick the world, break your foot."

Or, if you fight against the world it's gonna fight back, and the world can throw hands.

Too true, too true.

And I may have poorly quoted "No justice, no peace" because I mostly know it as a chant at protests.  It might be better quoted as "No justice?  No peace." or "No justice: no peace".  It's conditional.  I also don't consider it a threat, just a warning about a law beyond my control.  Those why deny justice have kicked the world's population.

Edit: You're also right about the Memory of the Much Lesser Self, too.  It's... tragic.  But at the same time, it's a good thing to be improving, and learning from the past.

Oh no, that's unrelated to your quote, it's just a saying (and warning) that I like. If you're gonna fight, it's never going to be easy and odds are you'll suffer for it.

Doesn't mean it's the wrong decision.

In RM it's often used in the context of fighting against corrupt institutions, and in Aurora it's used when a (semi-paralysed) character tries to fight back against the Earth's desire to keep sending out generation ships despite the fact they keep failing and the children of the first generation don't get a choice in the matter, where she's told "In the meantime kick the world, break your foot. And your feet are already broken, my dear."

The pen is mightier than the sword, but only if the sword is small and the pen is very, very sharp.

It's actually a misnomer to say that the Pen is mightier than the Sword, since it's really the Paper that is being signed by the Pen and the Hand holding the Pen that matter.

Like, say if my Hand is signing for a Gun, perhaps...

You know the pen doesn't need to be super sharp to stab some one with it.
