Is there a limit to how many of these things we can sell at once?

No, but poorly selling Packages will tend to bring down your overall profit.

That being said, should we do all five or maybe shelve one and do four?  (We probably could phase out the legacy Gnome and replace it with upgraded one.)

Sounds like the best bet will be to do everything but the OG gnome.

Industrial Forklift Chassis + Industrial Forklift AI (legacy)
Average Sales

Porta Porta John + Industrial Forklift AI (PPJ Commercial/Industrial)
Poor Sales

Porta Porta John POS + Industrial Forklift AI (PPJ Municipal)
BIG HIT!

Lawn Ornament Chassis + Gnome AI, Influencer Edition (Gnome 2.0)
Big Hit!

Our flagship forklifts sold industrial average during this year, despite The Modern Jungle's best efforts to turn workplaces away from such practices. We've met with no major issues, things are getting delivered on time accurately and safely with the help of the human driver guiding its steady hand to where it needs to be.

Perhaps the world simple isn't ready for commercial smart toilets. Sales of the PPJ Commercial/Industrial are quite frankly in the toilet. Your annalist suggest several plausible reasons; Cubical work where the toilet's scheduled visits would work efficiently are outside our usual clientele base and many have switched over to remote work, while our warehouse worker's changing location makes it difficult to set up an efficient "go" schedule for each individual compared to a static location. Second we're in an uncomfortable place where companies that don't want to waste time on a bathroom break have cheaper but less-human options like forcing employees to go off-the-clock to go on their own time (especially popular with remote work) or providing jugs for such a purpose, while those that do allow such things typically have facilities already installed in static locations. Your sales team suggests that they might be able to sell more if they can get contracts with more appropriate clients in the next year.

POS, on the other hand, happened to be in the right place at the right time. It is a well known fact that many homeless live in their cars. With large gasoline powered and human-driven vehicles this is almost viable. When all the cheapest cars are teeny tiny smart cars with the government's financial support, it is like trying to live in a golf cart. Likewise homeless camping in the streets, near roadways, or in parking lots becomes significantly more costly to the local governments when the driver-less cars can't shoo them away. As a result there is a new epidemic of homeless in many major cities - while the number hasn't increased the space they take up does. This gives the cities an incentive to purchase a large number of units - either to keep the homeless away or to provide some income and corralling with nightly housing. While the trick was quickly discovered there are workarounds depending on the purpose - those that are effectively homeless shelters can simple charge a slightly larger one time fee instead of an hourly rate preventing the trick from working.

Likewise the Lawn Ornament turns out to be a smash success despite the high-profile assassination of several Gnome-sonas during the Gnome Bashing phenomena. Its a business adage that 20% of consumers make up 80% of sales, adding in social media clout to the equation means that we manage to snag a healthy bit of obsessive collectors who desire both the physical and digital components of our product. There was significant spill over sales to those who wanted to get in on the memes - though such sales typically resulted in only a single gnome purchase with a small handful of Gnome-sonas to go with it compared to the dozens or hundreds purchased by the Gnome Kings. Overall we managed to launch a very successful campaign this year.

Overall Company Health: Very Good +2

-Company Name: The New York Mets Co.
-Company Health: Healthy (7).
-Company Focus: The New York Mets Company started life as a manufacturer and distributor of baseball memorabilia, one of many such companies founded during the Great Revival period of baseball history, which took place in the early 21st century. Unlike most such companies, however, NYMetCo (ticker symbol: METS) survived the collapse of the baseball industry precipitated by the Catcher's Strike of '26 by branching out into high-tech manufacturing, eventually becoming the premier manufacturer of household and industrial robots on the North Coast.
-Company Designs:
Hardware: Industrial forklift chassis, lawn ornament chassis, Porta Porta John, Porta Porta John POS.
Software: Industrial forklift AI, mischievous gnome AI, Gnome AI, Influencer Edition
-Company Packages:
Industrial Forklift Chassis + Industrial Forklift AI (legacy)
Porta Porta John + Industrial Forklift AI (PPJ Commercial/Industrial)
Porta Porta John POS + Industrial Forklift AI (PPJ Municipal)
Lawn Ornament Chassis + Gnome AI, Influencer Edition (Gnome 2.0)

We have a new competitor in Housing and Worker Solutions (HAWS)! HAWS is a company dedicated to efficiency, both in the workplace and in cities themselves. Their solutions tend to be high-cost but "in-bulk" and high quality. Their flagship design is a "CEO Bot" capable of making efficient manager decisions at all levels, assisting CEOs and mayors while hoping to replace middle management entirely. Based off its suggestions HAWs has created "Work Units" that are essentially in-work housing units meant to get the most out of each worker. While these tend to be less popular in first world countries they have created several of them in a semi-charitable "Unhomed Work Units" that allow homeless to perform simple jobs in return for a place to sleep and some cheap food. The CEO bot can recognize and remove those who abuse the system or arn't worth their keep and have them removed by paid "bouncers".

Competitor HAWS
Focus: Worker and City Efficiency
Price Range: Expensive
Efficiency: 10

The Economy: 7-1 = 6 Below Average
We've begone the process of recovery, but slowly to the point most individuals haven't seen much change. Most companies haven't seen much change either to be honest. Slight penalty to Expensive, slight bonus to Cheap.

World Events: 5
5 (Good): After last year's safety concerns, governments have subsidized many companies to improve industrial safety standards for robotic equipment. Companies will be eager to buy anything that at least looks like it has upgraded safety equipment.
2 (Bad): Due to the issues the homeless can cause to self-driving cars, robotic cleaners, robotic security, and other automated systems by being places they shouldn't cities are looking for more permanent solutions to the homeless problem. Or at least ways for them to be kept away from everything important.
6 (Great): METS has been approached by media company SMILE hoping to make an animated Gnome-sona movie. With AI generated visuals they promise they can get it done within the year while the phenomena is still in-vogue. The licensing, merch, and hype is likely to boost any Gnome-related products this year.
2 (Bad): As the dark side of popularity, pirate Gnome-sonas have grown in popularity. Those with moderate computational skills can download most popular Gnome-sonas while bypassing our workplace. Some websites have allowed for un-approved modifications to said Gnome-sonas.
3 (OK): Anti-government forces have increasingly used drone and smart car technologies in bombing attacks as the technology becomes more readily available. Luckily they haven't tried pulling anything with our toilets yet, so our sales should be unaffected.

You have one Hardware and one Software design for this phase.

I don’t have a specific idea yet, but maybe we should make an AI that’s (with proper software) able to find and prevent hazards and get injured people away from further harm

What about a robot tow truck that moves all the cars with sleeping people in them?

As viral as our "Gnome 2.0" package has proven in the last fiscal year, it is a novelty product that could benefit from some actual utility...

Hardware: Garden Guardian Gnome

Quote
The common squirrel.  A bane to birdfeeders in every suburb and exurb across the USA.  If only there was a product to defend well kept gardens from being pillaged by furry menaces.

The Garden Guardian Gnome identifies, tracks, and engages undesirable vermin with a high pressure stream of oleocapsicum (OC) spray.  (As every gardener knows, birds do not have a receptor for OC ot other "hot" peppers.)  An upgraded IRNV capable FMV camera extends 24 hours protection against nocturnal pests as well, such as possums and raccoons.  All the while, the Garden Guardian Gnomes retains the aesthetic and novelty features of our legacy Gnome hardware, including limited anthropomorphic articulation, mic/speaker, motion/proximity detector, weatherproofing, and Internet of Things (IoT) integration.

And here's the software for it...

Software: Garden Guardian Gnome AI with Gnome-sona Capability

Quote
In addition to keeping popular Gnome-sona content and use of the Gnome Depot Marketplace, the Garden Guardian Gnome AI provides necessary pest control algorithms, as well as a "Gnome Defense" module for integration with common home security systems.

The Garden Guardian Gnome AI uploads FMV photage to cloud computing to provide real-time objection of a variety of undesirable pests.  Via app, the user is notified of the pest with photo, and prompted to authorize pest removal.  Upon user authorization, the pest is engaged with either a Gnome-sona appropriate audio warning, and/or OC spray.  To avoid continual misidentification, the user can whitelist certain wildlife, such as pets.

The Gnome Defense module integrates the Garden Guard Gnome as an exterior line of defense with common home security systems, turning a mere novelty into a life saving product every responsible homeowner should own.

Garden Guardian Gnome: 2 (TERRIBLE!!!)
Apparently the skillset of building a novelty lawn ornament and functional turret have less overlap than we thought. Probably should have put a different team on this one. The end result is like if you ended up in a Mad-Max chucky cheeses and someone had attempted to weaponize the animatronics. Someone with a degree in abstract philosophy. The spray itself is unlikely to hit anything (unless the target takes a great interest in looking veeeery closely at the gnome). More often than not the spray runs up against one of the many parts of the gnome that tend to get in the way if it performs any motion at all. And it has to move to get into spray position. In the end most shots will simply form a cloud around the gnome as it blasts itself. The additional weight of the turret equipment threw off the balance of the rest of the gnome if that wasn't bad enough. It will often tip over if it makes certain motions that where popular before - including simple ones if the liquid spray packet jiggles around too much during the motion. Sometimes it will tip over simply from facial expressions. This extra weight also puts stress on some of the moving parts-causing most motions to be significantly noisier than on our previous model. If it attempts to do any motion while making noise it will almost inevitably drown out the vocalization with the machine's desperate attempts at motion (and often the thump that accompanies as it hits the ground). This tends to render audio warnings something less than effective unless the target happens to be jittery enough to run from "WHIIIIR THUMP"

Cost: Expensive
Traits: Inaccurate, Unbalanced, Noisy

Garden Guardian Gnome AI with Gnome-sona Capability: 9 (Above Average)
Fortunately it seems that the software team was up to the job. AI recognition has been intensely studied - mostly for the smart cars currently flooding the streets - and we where able to leverage our social media platform's "Prove you arn't a robot!" check to identify common vermin with acceptable accuracy. Facial recognition software had also been developed allowing the owner and the owner's kin to be recognized by the system as well. All in all it should be a perfectly functional piece of software. If only it had some decent hardware to go with it...

Cost: Expensive
Traits: Vermin Identification

It is now the Revision Phase. You may revise one Hardware or Software.

As amusing as an anthropomorphic robot macing itself and falling over in an epileptic fit must be, we probably should rework it if we want a viable product.

Hardware Revision: Garden Guardian Gnome Pro

Quote
The Garden Guardian Gnome prototype... not our finest hour, and certainly not hardware we can put into production.  But with the success of the AI portion, a fix to this troubled hardware prototype could yield a successful product.

Renamed the Garden Guardians Gnome Pro, the problematic spray turret will be simplified into a high-powered LED flashlight.  While less impressive a capability, it is a simple fix to the prototype's cost and complexity.  Of particular note, the reduction in weight will fix the articulation and general balance issues that rendered the prototype non-marketable.  As an added bonus, this hardware should generally prove safer without a chemical sprayer, and we can now suggest installation indoors in the user manual.

While the Garden Guardian Gnome Pro will not be the aggressive pest deterrent system originally envisioned, its AI targeted light and sound displays should be enough for most pest deterrent and home security applications.

This could work, sudden lights and sounds should work in deterring most vermin, since most vermin are prey animals and sounds could mean predators +1
