Remember folks: It's a newbie game.  Toonyman didn't want to just tell us what to do.  He wanted us to "earn" the win.

Toonyman is a Veteran player that was trying to dodge the mafia's bullet, but figured he was probably dead.  So you have to read what he said carefully.  NOTHING is random.

Scummy
Hedgerow - blatantly scummy, if they're not a hit then I think the two mafia are in Magma/Blu/Pref/Rolan

Did you ever clarify what you meant by 'blatantly scummy'? Because in retrospect, that doesn't look as good. Looks more like malice - or mistaking hedgerow's PR tells for scum tells.

Hedgerow had no reads beyond "Roden and Jack are mafia" before changing it to "Roden is mafia, Jack is town".

They openly refused to interact with most players and just wanted Roden dead for suggesting that the BP step forward:

Maybe an edit?  Toonyman's paraphrase of a new player? But why edit it in that way?

As far as I can tell, the favoured pairings are currently:

Magma -> FoU/pref
Toony -> FoU/Jack
Jack -> pref/Magma
pref -> FoU/Magma
FoU -> Toony/Magma
Roden -> FoU/Magma

Do I have that right?

This pretty much cements in my mind that it's FoU/Jack or Pref/Roden. Pref/Roden is a lot less likely in my opinion. FoU/Magma and FoU/Pref both don't make any sense to me.

@Toonyman: Are you going to be able to do the Magma ISO you promised?

I didn't promise a Magma ISO and no because Magma is town and I'm busy today. I have no idea why people are willing to vote Magma.

In order for Toonyman to have the best chance of survival, he desperately needed to propose two opposing mafia teams with a confirmed town, so that his confirmed town would be night killed instead of him.  He needed to give the illusion that he could be swayed either way.
Note which way he decided to sway the teams.

Wanted to be more clear.  The scum team is Pref and Roden.  Magma's choice whom to vote.

What I was doing, was commenting that Hedgerow was playing to survive, rather than to hunt scum, and this made them look extremely scummy.  They needed to NOT use their vote to work for a tie in this scenario, no matter what.  I voted myself, as you pointed out, to show that Town needs to lynch, even at the lost of their own life.

Yeah probably Magma. Their D1 bus is strange but I have a theory about it.

Kinda weird that Pref would do the ISO that Magma Mater said they were going to do INSTEAD OF the ISO that Pref said they were going to do.
Like, "did they discuss this in scumchat and get it wrong" sort of weird.

I did the Toony ISO - at least a small one - here and here.

I'm not sure, it's difficult to follow his reads. I can say that he made a couple of points against Roden that I agreed with, but other than that I don't think so.

I only suspect Pref/Roden at this point becasue:

1. They have no significant interactions with each other.
2. Roden was extremely unwilling to vote Pref over Magma and I have no idea why still since their explanation was bad.

But everything else Roden has done has been very town and I don't think them trying to get FoU lynched today is a scum move at all.

I expect the mafiakill tonight to be either me or Roden which I guess is fine since Magma is 100% town.

If you're town the loss will 100% be on you. You can't play scummy like this as town and expect anyone to trust you. I'm so sure you scum anyway at this point, but if you're not then hopefully you'll take this as a learning opportunity. Because I'd rather let scum win than keep a town vs town argument with you going if you're just going to constantly make posts like these.

Yes, I know it isn't "optimum townie play".  But you were wrong, I was right, you didn't listen to me, and now Hedgerow is dead.

Jack is surprisingly confident in their Hedgerow town read. The "I told you so" attitude comes off really bad.

Another thing I find extremely annoying is that Jack specifically has been bugging me to explain terms like TMI and POE even though I know for a fact Jack read the Championship game I was in for MU and players used those terms consistently throughout the game. Why in the world does Jack ask me what these mafia definitions are if he already knows them? The only thing I can think of is that Jack is trying to "generate content", it's a form of active-lurking you would do as mafia:

Could you tell me what TMI means?

If nothing else, give us your POE.

@Toonyman: What is POE? I thought it was Person of Interest, but I'm having some trouble with the concept.  Is it one person or several?
I know we're supposed to be doing it, and maybe I already am, but I'd like to know how to correctly be doing it.

And that is where you slipped up Roden.  Your constant need to push yourself as Town.  But you're not.

The married man always does better with the ladies than the single man, because the married man knows he's lying from the start.  He can put himself in the best light possible.  The single man is just himself, just honest, and that doesn't look so good.

Jack you can't turn this around lol. I got town read by literally everyone by the end of Day 2, and you got heavily scum read. You aren't doing anything to help your case by refusing to answer questions and twisting a dead player's words to fit your narrative. It just doesn't work that way.
