Infection Phase, Turn 1 Results
We released
Adenovirus Type-N in
Juarez, Mexico, and a small portion of the city has been locked down as a result. The situation is stable, but the similarities to the original "Zombie" outbreak have the local officials open to outside help to end things as swiftly as possible.

A number of bats infected with
Adenovirus Type-H were introduced to a handful of bat colonies in the
Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. The colonies have since fallen to the virus, and the resulting swarms of massive blood-thirsty bats have been seen assaulting villages and cities nearby. The bats are leaving bodies in their wake, and the local government is asking for aid in eliminating the mutated pest problem. So far we have heard no reports of a human infection.

A
PRIORITY ALERT has been issued by Asia as a result of our recent efforts there with the
Feral Pestivirus. The
Muyuan Meat and Food Industry Complex in China is experiencing a very public BOW event. The illness has infected their pig stock and has resulted in what is being called "The Churning". Sick pigs became aggressive and started feeding on other pigs, spreading the
Feral Pestivirus further and increasing the number of murderous swine. The illness spread throughout the megafarm quickly, and soon each building was going through intense bloodbaths as the pigs transformed into massive "Bullswine". The Chinese military has blocked off the area, but is very willing to accept aid from people willing to clean out the Bullswine from the pig farm without damaging the buildings themselves. Pictures have gotten out to the public showing creatures with massive tusks, bristling fur, and thick hide stretched across dense muscle. There are an unknown number of Bullswine within the facility. This Priority Alert provides an increase in Relations with Asia even if the outbreak isn't eliminated.

Two other interesting sets of reports have come to your attention recently.
An illness reminiscent of the original "zombie" outbreak has begun to spread in
Gary, Indiana, in the United States of America. A small neighborhood has been cut off and quarantined by local law enforcement, and they are looking for help in tilting the situation in their favor.

Local authorities for the city of
Rennes in Brittany, France are asking for aid in exterminating a particularly nasty bug problem. Screaming and aggressive insect attacks centered around botanical gardens have seen parts of the city enter lockdown. While the locals can maintain a solid perimeter, they are seeking help from groups with medical and military expertise to deal with the problem more directly.

It is now the Mercenary Phase. For THIS TURN ONLY you will have one Mercenary Action to design equipment with as normal, and one Hero Action to create a Hero and their associated unit (where usually you have two Mercenary Actions, and creating a Hero requires using both). Remember, Heroes should have any desired traits and skills described, and the unit's size should be specified, as well as the unit's specialties, skills, traits, etc. Feel free to ask questions about what is and is not possible for creating a Hero/Unit.
Adenovirus Type-N: Based off of the Common Cold. Ad.N targets the spinal column and brain, although an infected subject will eventually have affected cells throughout the body. Ad.N replicates within affected cells, causes cell death, and spreads itself to new cells to repeat the process. Infection results in reduced mental faculties, including intense bouts of rage and paranoia, severe mental degradation, and reduced mobility. Ad.N spreads through mucus and saliva. The immune system can rarely fight off Ad.N infection before permanent damage is done. Ad.N targets vertebrates, but most readily finds it's hosts in humans. Stockpile: 3 (1/3 Deployed)
Adenovirus Type-H: A bat-targeted virus based off of Ad.N with the purpose of carrying Vampire Bat genes and mutations into other bats. Infected bats grow in size, gain exaggerated fangs, thirst for blood, and furiously hunt for their food. Humans bitten by Ad.H-positive bats are at risk of turning into "Vampires". Vampires gain bat-like facial features, fangs, and the hunger for blood. They act as nocturnal ambush predators and seek shelter during the day. Stockpile: 2 (1/2 Deployed)
Feral Pestivirus: A swine-targeting disease that removes epigenetic locks after a period of intense illness. The pathogen promotes an intense growth process alongside the genetic alterations to create "Bullswine". Bullswine are massive and very tough, with two large intimidating tusks. They are also insatiable able will destroy and eat anything they see in a ravenous frenzy until something stops them. Stockpile: 3 (1/3 Deployed)
BRIGANDINE: A highly protective and advanced CRBN suit with good mobility made of plastic, rubber, and aramid fibers. Very durable. Has an amazing air filtration system and backup air supply. The helmet has a powerful lamp and video camera as well as full communications suite and HUD for displaying teammate statuses. A forearm computer allows for control of the suit's subsystems. Stockpile: 5 (0/5 Deployed) // Deployment Limit: Platoon
Samurai Edge: A 9mm semiautomatic handgun with a 15-round magazine. Reliable. Stockpile: Infinite (0/- Deployed) // Deployment Limit: Company
