I play DF in windowed mode and use a 3rd party utility to view announcements. Every time I start up DF, I have to drag DF's window into an appropriate place. Even if the Steam update adds it's own improved announcement log, I'd still want the game window to be centered.

I suggest adding an option for the window's location upon starting the game. This could be through command line, init setting, and/or remembering the window location from last time.

Prior to it being embedded in DF, somehow, could you use something like this or this, as a third-party method of control?
