Legacy of Chaos: Wardens of the Abyss
OOC

CHAOS SCALE

The state of Chaos is CRITICAL [13].

Rimso, Aspect of War and Lue, Aspect of Renewal: 1
The Sun, Abyssal God of Justice: 1
The Moon, Abyssal God of Hubris: 1
The Comet, Abyssal God of Death: 1
Beragolite, Abyssal God of Unification: 2

Divine Worlds: 3
Lesser Worlds: 1

Turn 3: Abyssal Gods

Those Who Answered

"We are the harbinger's army. We, Incarnations of Torture, bring to you the message.
We answer your call for deliverance, we answer the screams of Chaos.
Abandon all hope, you who maintain the abhorrent cycle of creation.
Our lord is Cris Novas, Abyssal God of Suffering, he who delivers from pain.

"Rejoice and cry! Offer up your tears of blood, sing your chants of agony!
Egimedeon heeds the call of the Abyss, the Lord of War and Renewal has come.
Fear the black feather of war, Rimso.
Fear the black feather of renewal, Lue."

"Sacrifice your hearts! For the Celestial Trinity has returned!
All will burn under the light of the Old Sun, Abyssal God of Justice!
All will crumble under the shadow of the Old Moon, Abyssal God of Hubris!
All will perish under the gaze of the Old Comet, Abyssal God of Death!"

"They come to us, the Great Assimilators!
Their lord is Beragolite, Abyssal God of Unification.
Relinquish everything, and be reunited into the Abyss."

"We call the name of the first watched, we call the name of the first marked.
The name of the first sacrifice is Infernose"

Those Who Resisted

On the onset of annihilation, it seemed the gods could never unite and resist. Some initially accepted the judgement of the Abyss, while others initially decided to haphazardly salvage what they could of creation. But some refused to let all of creation go to waste, and it is said the duck of Honour and Vengeance let out an inspirational call for all to hear:

"It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!"

Through some miraculous conjunction of circumstances most of the gods accepted to make a stand. And so apart from the slumbering Darkwing, each god armed themselves with a Manifold Aegis and went to fight or prepare in the short moments of respite they may have had.

The first gods to move were Dalarin and Infernose, who had peered into the Abyss.
Then Qwuck, Thinawan, Iniungo[/color], Old Long Cygne, and Laak combined their powers of five with the blood of three of them in order to give birth to three powerful Aspects bound by an agreement of the fives.

Dalarin and Infernose, Watchers of the Abyss

Knowing his fate had been sealed, Infernose rushed the Red God of Suffering: Cris Novas. Accompanying him in this fateful charge was Dalarin, who attempted to lure the Dragon into the coming fight. But to the infinite Dragon of Fate, the attempt of the God of Knowledge was lesser than an insignificant mortal's call, drowned by the rage of three Primordial Beasts. Alas, Fate was not on their side.

The two Gods faced the Abyssal God.

Spoiler: Round 1 (click to show/hide)

While the Mice kept the Incarnations of Torture as busy as they could, Dalarin and Infernose brandished the plasmic Manifold Aegis they each held and attacked the Red God of Suffering with the ferocity of a fuming toaster and an angry cat.

Outnumbered, Cris Novas twisted the fabric of the Abyss to confuse and separate the attacking gods. A faraway Qwucky voice utters "Cheater!", but the sound is drowned by the screaming hail of crimson thorns raining on Infernose. Skewered by these elements of divine origin, its precious Ichor is spilled and left to disperse in the chaos of the battlefield.

Infernose lost 1 Ichor

From Five Creators, the Three Destroyers

The blood of Thinawan turned into a feathered ball, which fueled by the might of the five gods, expanded into a great bird whose purpose would be to slay planets and alien gods. Lintu, Lord of Lightning was born.

Next the blood of Qwuck dried into a hairy sphere, which roused by the might of the five gods, grew into a great bonobo of purpose identical to that of Lintu. Riemu, Hierophant of Exaltation was born.

Finally the blood of Old Long Cygne coalesced into a translucent orb, and awakened by the power of the five gods, grew countless tentacles until it became a great jellyfish of purpose similar to the other Aspects. Sateet the Sotrm's Scions, also known as Boroo the Breath of Bane, or Vrsti the Vicious Vapors was born.

When the Gods Fought

Unable to challenge a single Abyssal God, the fates of Dalarin and Infernose seemed dire but not sealed yet. Until the shadows of seven other divine beings appeared behind them: those of the 5 Abyssal Gods and the 2 Abyssal Aspects. Unwilling to run away in the face of adversity, the two brave gods braced for their glorious end and charged one last time...

But in a thunderous and crackling chorus, six Gods entered the fray to help the cat and the toaster. Their arrival would tip the scale of this desperate struggle.

Spoiler: Round 2 (click to show/hide)

A battle of unseen proportions for the nascent universe occurred at this very moment, whips of pure plasma radiating with the might of the Divine clashing with the somber and destructive energies of the Abyssal Gods. Although the Gods came rushing as soon as possible to help their companions, what greeted them was the sight of the dismantled Infernose, its divinity stripped.

It is said in their fury, the Gods found in themselves an incredible power in order to avenge their fallen friend. With unparalleled agility and cunning, Dalarin played with the stoic Abyssal Gods who couldn't land a hit on the feline god. Using the opportunity given to them, the Gods wrapped their plasmic whips around Beragolite and Cris Novas.

There was a great flash of burning light as they poured their divine might into the lashes, incinerating the Golden God and the Red God.

Spoiler: Round 3 (click to show/hide)

As the battle raged, Qwuck let out an emotional cry to the forces above, complaining to some higher power about the unfairness of their condition. This heartfelt act may not have beget the attention of whatever higher, incredibly fair being above, but it did attract the attention of the Abyssal Gods who had tired of the elusive Dalarin.

But it was part of Qwuck's devious plan, maybe. With the Abyssal Gods on him, the duck god focused on defense and evasion, successfully fending off the combined assaults of the Abyssal Gods. In turn Qwuck's companions picked apart their opponents one by one, with Overmind felling Lue the Aspect of War, and the feathered trio of Thinawan, Old Long Cygne and Iniungo[/color] carving apart the face of the Old Moon.

Spoiler: Round 4 (click to show/hide)

Now only 3 Abyssal Gods remained, and victory seemed assured for the gods. While they kept focusing on the unreachable Qwuck, they finished off the last ones. Qwuck himself vanquished the Comet, and under the combined assaults of the gods, the Sun and Egimedeon were defeated once and for all.

With the interloping Abyssal Gods eliminated, Order returned to the agitated Cosmos. The Gods have managed to save the universe of the chaos of their own making, but they must beware. The next time the Abyss is roused, they may not be granted a single reprieve before the last awakening...

The use of several Legendary Artifacts has generated 1 temporary chaos

And while the Abyssal Gods and Infernose have been killed, their split Ichor remains, its radiating divinity still powerful.

There is 20 Ichors floating around. What could go wrong?

Destruction of Laak's Garden

True Destruction Requirements: 10P
Partial Destruction Requirements: 8P
Laak's Incomplete Partial Destruction Success [d6] - 8 : [-2] -Not a dent-
Laaklang's Incomplete Partial Destruction Success [d6] - 3 : [2] -Failure-
Partial Destruction Progress: 2

While the gods fought, Laak focused on dismantling his Garden with the help of Laaklang. But lacking any form of Power, the God of Systems couldn't help much, or maybe it was all according to his designs...

Laaklang took upon itself to destroy as much of the Garden with its power [abstract 5]. But the Garden being Divine, even destroying so much of it didn't put much of a dent on it. As for Laak, he couldn't muster an ounce of the power necessary to damage his precious Garden. It will take much longer to truly destroy the Garden.

The Garden has been damaged, but remains for the most part unscathed

LOL's creation: Mortalio

Before leaving to fight, LOL made a strange choice, deciding just like its peers that the state of the Cosmos was absolutely ideal to create a species of mortals which he named the Homosapien. The first of them was called Mortalio.

World Turn:

The Unmaking of Doughnut

[Partial Destruction Attempt by 3 Aspects]
Partial Destruction Success [d6]: [4] -Successful-

Sent on a holy mission to return the Doughnut to its prior state of pure cosmic energy, the three newborn Aspects undertook the destruction of the Divine World. With the erasing lightning of Lintu, the fiery lasers of Riemu, and acidic rain of Sateet, one half of the Doughnut was unmade over the course of the entire world cycle.

The destroyed half was the one that housed the Ichor of the deceased Infernose, and now only its free blood remained where half of the Doughnut once stood. It so happens that the valley of the yes was part of this half, causing the eradication of these lifeforms.

The Infernose Half of the Doughnut has been partially destroyed
2 temporary chaos generated

Of Servants and Abyssal Servants

While the Gods warred against their equals, their Servants also fought a great battle below. Armed with Manifold Aegides, the Space Police Chicken Force barred the way of the Incarnations of Torture and the Great Assimilators.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

Valiant and unyielding, the Chickens organized a formidable defence against the Greater Abyssal Servants. Although lessers, with the help of the Manifold Aegides they managed to severely damage their enemies, and it seemed they would emerge victorious. But while they kept the Incarnations of Torture at bay, the Great Assimilators took them in a pincer attack and wiped them all out.

What of the mice? They had scurried away, avoiding combat and promptly returned to Dalarin once the Abyssal Gods were killed.

The use of countless Legendary Artifacts has generated 1 temporary chaos (added to previous Manifold use)

The remaining Greater Abyssal Servants moved toward the unprotected Dis Subliminaries. Although their gods had been vanquished, they didn't give up their tasks and started poisoning Dis Subliminaries internal light.

On Doughnut
First and Last of its kind: Mortalio

Created just to witness and suffer, Mortalio was given the Mutation Wand and left alone with its species. They were placed in a barren land, devoid of life and existence. They were alone. And soon, they cursed their cruel existences, left to die of hunger and starvation. They ate their dead, and dirt. Although they could find a bit of sustenance in the soil of the Divine World, they were fated to die and so perished to the last: Mortalio.

[Partial Destruction Attempt by an Army of Greater Servants]

Although wounded by their fight with the Space Police Chicken Force, the Incarnations of Torture and the Great Assimilators weren't reduced in their innate abilities to wreck havoc and destruction. Through the corruption of the worlds core, the Greater Abyssal Servants caused the destruction of two plasmic worlds.

Two Lesser Worlds were partially destroyed

PLAYERS STATUS

INSIDE THE COSMOS

Quick description of the Cosmos
Two Divine Worlds exist in the Cosmos: Doughnut and Laak's Garden. A plethora of Lesser Worlds, Dis Subluminaries, orbit around Doughnut.

Half of the Doughnut: (1 Divine World)
Quote
A massive torus shaped Divine world formed out of several Fused divine worlds, as a result of its shape and circumstances- it has 3 "separate" gravitations, firstly you have the "reduced" gravitation of its "inner ring" or the portion of land that faces itself- secondly you have the "standard" gravitation of its "middle" rings or the two continuous rings that neither face "hole" nor "Doughnut", finally you have the "seasonal" gravitation of its "outer ring" which is caused by the orbiting planet of Hole and its one year cycle of movement around this world.
The Ichor of Dalarin and Infernose formed two poles which diffuse the power of their spheres. The farther you are from these poles, the weaker this influence is.

Only the half bearing Dalarin's Ichor remains.

Laak's Garden: (1 Divine World)
Quote
Laak's Garden is a caustic world composed of two oceans and a wide band of extremely dense metal. This planet is stripped of all influences save that of Laak, as agreed upon by the participating gods, in echange for Laak contributing an ichor. Each ocean is a swirling mass of salts, acids, heavy metals, and other elements caught in an endless and orchestrated cycle of combination, degredation, dispersal, and reintegration. These churning masses of chemicals and dangerous materials form the two swirling oceans of Laak' Garden, spewing foul fumes and precipitates into the smog this planet calls air. The two oceans are separated by a thick band of metal, formed incredibly dense not only by the creation of the donut world, but further compressed into a stronger stock by the work of Laak, an interlocking system alloys built by the dexterous hands of Laak. Powerful winds blow across this thick band of exposed metal, constantly tearing across the surface of the world at incredible speeds, which provides uncontaminated air to the majority of the strip, and separates the fumes of the two oceans. Ten large concave depressions can be found upon this band, spaced at regular intervals. These depressions provide protection from the devastating winds, and the worst of the caustic effects of the foul oceans. The planet is ripe with systems of cyclic nature, from the ever changing chemical oceans, to the erected weather patterns, and dense metal that serves as the land and basis for the planet. Truly it is a place of horrifying beauty.

Dis Subluminaries: (Several Lesser Worlds)
Quote
Various (however many I get for the cost) enormous plasma globe full of divine light, roughly the size of large moons relative to the Doughnut World, which will be set into chaotic but collision-safe orbits therearound (including through the hole); each of which illuminates any living being that sets foot on it with a glowing filament of plasma, which also symbolically represents that being's soul, connecting it to that globe's Core. The surface of each globe is like rock in every way except that it is transparent; pebbles and soil weathered from it resemble glass beads. Each also has a normal breathable atmosphere and water, which are not unusual in any way.

Two were destroyed.

Qwuck qwucks triumphantly, "Qwuck! A most glorious battle my fellow divines! It was my honour to fight side by side with my brave fellows and beat back the foul agents of the Abyss! Qwuck! Regarding the spoils of the battle, I would like to propose that it be divided up among all the participants to restore them to the pink of health, with leftover essence used to make Divine Artifacts to arm our host and help defend us against further Abyss incursions, Qwuck. Does this sound agreeable to everyone?"

Qwuck seems to grow more solemn, "As to the foul coward Darkwing, who fled in the face of danger... qwuck... how should we deal with him?"

Qwuck votes that Lintu, Riemu and Sateet wipe out the Abyssal Servants.

Proposed Ichor Distribution:
+2 Ichor to Overmind
+2 Ichor to Dalarin
+1 Ichor to Iniungo
+1 Ichor to LOL
+2 Ichor to Qwuck
+2 Ichor to Thinawan
+2 Ichor to Cygne
+2 Ichor to Laak
7 Ichor Reserved for Divine Artifact Projects and First Aid. [Actual Artifact Blueprint proposals pending on divine revelations]
3 Ichor is stored in Lintu, Riemu and Sateet (1 each) bringing them to 2 ichor.

Darkwing awakens momentarily.

"QUACK"

Then goes back to sleep.
Unknowing and Uncaring of the retribution of their own making other gods had. O
r the Ichor spilled, for they have their own source soon enough..

Breakdown

Quote from: Darkwing's Master Planning
Absolute Law: Over a Location, Location is a Divine Artifact, The Dark Throne. Costs 3 Power.
Effect: The Dark Throne naturally generates/gathers 1 Ichor from the Abyss each turn, which can be Absorbed through the Throne's effects.
Due to the nature of Divine Artifacts defying rules which apply to a world, and Absolute Laws dictating how the reality works over the World, together they defy natural laws by crafting a new Normal superseding them.
Due to this Law targeting something which can be affected, and Divine Artifacts being able to affect Gods, the result is that Darkwing can recover Ichor from Resting on the Dark Throne.
(Note that Ichor supposedly rests within the Abyss. So this should work with that fact.)

The cat, having successfully escaped what seemed like an inevitable fate, calmed down and licked it's wounds, using one ichor from the fallen abyssals to heal itself.
Next, it took a second piece, and with memory of something ancient and equally corrupt, formed the heart of shadows.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Finally the cat would move to destroy the great assimilators and capture the incarnations of torture for study with the seeking aid of his mice, before they could finish purging the peeps from their state of meaningful existence.

The cat, after watching the pre-motions of it's supposed allies, deems them all to be threats to existence and comes to one conclusion: he can't stop the abyss, not like this. Instead, resigned to his fate, it tries to steal as much of the ichor it can, and dives straight for the abyssal beast with it all before they can fully destroy reality with their rampant chaos.

Qwuck stares sadly at the cat, "Qwuck... why do this on the cusp of our victory? Qwuuuck... please stop this... have we not shed blood together, fought side by side against the most insidious foe and came out victorious? Why throw that all away? Qwuuuck."

Assuming Dalarin does not listen to reason, kill them for betraying us at the last moment. If succsessful, move on to killing the remaining Abyssal servants in reality as the next target.

"Cygne mourns and Cygne weeps,
Cygne weeps and Cygne mourns.
For where a god sleeps,
Their allegiance forewarns.

Cygne looks and Cygne spots,
The Darkwing's new bed.
What scurrilous plots,
Now hide in their head?

Cygne shivers, Cygne quivers,
Cygne tosses, and turns.
When Darkwing delivers,
Will Wake be what burns?
"

TL;DR: Old Long Cygne is very suspicious of Darkwing's motives. Could Darkwing be consorting with the Abyssals?

The cat, after watching the pre-motions of it's supposed allies, deems them all to be threats to existence and comes to one conclusion: he can't stop the abyss, not like this. "Fool cat!
Why turnest thou
With Chaos ebbing, too?
Why seekest thou to aid the Beast,
and yea, the one that harmed thee so today?
What madness driveth thee, that thou betrayeth thus?
Thou foolish imp, thou wicked god, thou liv'st in infamy!
And though thine legs be swifter than the greater part of us,
Thou standest one alone today, 'gainst Wardens strong,
Who held the fell Abyssal gods and paid
A price more dear than thou may'st know.
Now HALT and stay thy course,
No further tears
to shed.
"

TL;DR: Old Long Cygne rides out to stop the thieving Dalarin!

Riemu vote: Restrain Dalarin
Lintu and Sateet votes: Hunt down the Abyssal Servants
