My character made it almost out(Roccor's area) before he got dazed and whacked. Then i walked away from my computer and saw a big grey H staring at me from outside my window(it didn't have eyes or whatever but i knew for sure that it was staring at me)

I woke up at 3am and didn't get any more sleep that night.

Which is strange because i didn't play either game alot yesterday.</STRONG>

OMG I can relate except it was Gold Road and it was three green "E"s I played a Horde char Btw, so elfs, or elephants? I hadn't played it for two years at that time.

...you buy books on rocks and minerals, despite having never been interested in geology before

...you like playing dwarves now, despite having played humans in every other game where you could choose another race.

...you now make effective special-character passwords that you actually remember, yet couldn't be decrypted in a million years

...you reference your dwarves as "your role models".
...you thinking months will pass by if you leave the world running to go take the trash out, and might be seiged by between 20-40 "g" so you run extra fast, trip scrap your elbow and follow it up by saying "It is torn" or such.
...you run something over in your truck, saying only "It explodes into gore!"
...when looking at a dead body your discription of it is "There is a pile of items here and Randomy Bigget's Corpse laying in a pool of blood."
...you'd discribe a sandwitch as <Sandwitch>, and if you put dressing on it <Sandwitch>.
...you dig down to get stone/ore hit the water main and think you flooded the world so you run inside and lock the doors.

when you have the dwarf fortress mp3 in your headphones at work all day

when you consider making an artificial waterfall in your kitchen by using windmills and the nearest brook, while using your neighbors apartment as a drain

You have a notebook full of fortress designs, including rooms, statues, furniture and estimated time to produce, both in DF years and realtime.

You build a giant statue out of bricks.

You try your hand at forging. Literally.
...at the hospital getting treated for 3rd degree burns to your hand you claim you just need food, water and rest to recover fully.
...you worry that you'll starve to death at the hospital since health care is bugged and rick's tools aren't updated for the new version.

You learn programming just to create a new program to help with DF.

You speak dwarvish fluently.

You're fluent at modding DF

You pray to Armok asking him to kill your enemies.

While digging holes for trees with a pick axe I decided to see how fast I could dig a hole large enough to stand in and be surrounded by walls. I just don't see how they do it. And this was in clay not rock.

I suspect that part of your problem is that you where digging for trees- I don't know where you come from, but 'round these parts, they tend to be ABOVE the ground. Just a pointer.

You make yourself stew out of cheese, sugar, and beer, and wonder why it doesn't quite taste as good as you were hoping.

Whaddaya mean; "doesn't taste as good as you were hoping"?  It tasted just fine!

It's those wine, wine, wine and wine roasts that are tricky.

-When you wonder for a moment what were you doing up until now and realize it was Dwarf fortress.

-When people tell you, you play too much Dwarf fortress.

-When you never read this because you are too busy playing Dwarf fortress.

-When Dwarf fortress plays YOU, and you are not in soviet Russia.

... when you're shoveling snow and you can see the designated blocks on the area your're clearing.

... when you start thinking about bringing DF to work on a flash drive, even though you know it could cost you your job.

... when your thoughts/preferences screen would like something like this:
Sorbius has been exstatic lately, Sorbius played some DF lately.  Sorbius admired a well craft fortress lately.  sorbius Likes DF, DF, DF and beer.  Sorbius absolutly detests thing which interfer with playing DF.  Sorbius needs DF to get through the working day.
(sorry if the format is not quite right, I don't read those very often)

... when you find the phrase "mauled by an elephant" or "torn apart by skeletal crocodiles" to be amusing.

... when you try to explain things about DF to people who don't play and are baffled when they don't know what you're talking about

... when you actually told someone they were stupid and clearly had no sense of humor because they did not find "the saga of boatmurdered" to be the literary work of our generation. (true story)
