In the backroom of the Hunter Hideout, a deal is struck.

Master Carcarias of Ordo Mercenariorum and Johannes "Hank" Strauss of Honest Hank's Hunter Hideout (henceforth referred to as the Noble Lender) agree to provide The Noble Order of Crab, Owl and Fox (henceforth referred as the Noble Client) with the services of

• Hunter B002 (A.K.A. Cancer Sidereo)

equipped with

• (1) Hunter Shotgun
• (1) Serrated Axe

for the length of

• (1) Expedition.

The Hunter(s) will follow all directions and commands of the Noble Client during the Expedition. All Expenses are to be paid by Noble Client. In exchange, the Noble Client shall pay to the Noble Lender a fee of ₹0.30 the first turn of the Expedition and ₹0.80 for each subsequent turn, up to a cap of 33% of the Noble Client's share of the salvaged goods and items of value recovered during the Expedition.  The Noble Client may pay the Noble Lender their share of the salvaged goods and items with any combination of Sovereigns and loot gained during this Expedition, provided the payment is equal to or greater than the amount owed.  Loss of a rented item shall incur a fee equal to its value from the Noble Client.

It is understood that Expeditions carry a risk. However, death of the Hunter resulting from reckless endangerment, defined by actions similar in kind to pushing forward despite crippling wounds/lack of supplies, negligence, or blatantly suicidal tactics, shall incur a fee of ₹3.00 from the Noble Client.

In consideration of the cyclical nature of Expeditions, it is agreed that rental payments can be suspended till the return of the Expedition or up to 4 turns after the signing of this agreement, whichever comes first.

Now then. We have the most powerful weapon known to man (so far), and arguably the best Hunter. I reckon we could go it alone if we wanted to.
However, that would leave the @MoonlightRedeemers with no ally on their expedition, and with their significantly less well-equipped and stat'd Hunter, that might not work out so well. So I reckon it would be the friendly thing to do to offer them the chance to come along with us, provided they accept a 60:40 loot split (in our favour). That roughly correlates to how much each team spent last turn, which I think is pretty generous (66:33 would be better reflective of the relative capabilities).

If the Moonlight Redeemers are not interested in this offer, then I propose we go solo.

I wrote an expedition contract template. I tried to cover all the bases without creating situations that would require tons of negotiations (since that takes time, especially if one side needs to get majority approval for every decision).

The undersigned entities, Ordo ad Liberandum Mechanica and The Order of Moonlight Redeemers, hereby agree to a joint expedition to Darremont's Bell.


Funding and Equipment
Each entity agrees to fund their Hunter(s) individually, including travel costs.


Division of Loot
Any items, currency, or other valuables gained in the course of the joint expedition (Loot) will be split between the undersigned entities in the following ratio:
  6 Shares Ordo ad Liberandum Mechanica
  4 Shares The Order of Moonlight Redeemers
Items will be valued according to their resale price plus 20%.
The value of unsellable items, should any be gained, will be negotiated. If no agreement can be reached, the unsellable item will be auctioned to a third party, and the revenue from the sale added to the Loot.
Upon the return of the Loot to the town, the sum of its value will be calculated, and each entity assigned a target yield according to their Share value (see above). The Loot will then be divided such that each entity receives an amount equal to their yield. This will be accomplished by assigning the most valuable item to the the entity with the highest Share value (see above), then the second most valuable to the second highest Share, and so on, cycling back to the highest Share after the lowest Share. If at any point an entity would be granted an item such that their total yield would exceed their target yield, that item shall instead be granted to the next entity in rotation (in the event that no entity can receive the item, see next paragraph). Once all items have been granted, the cash part of the Loot will be assigned to bring all entities up to their target yield. 
In the event that it is impossible to divide the Loot to fit the ratio to within 1%, it should be divided as closely as possible to the Ratio, whereafter the overcompensated entity must compensate the other(s) with already held cash equal to the amount they have been overcompensated. If this is also impossible (due to a lack of sufficient cash), then item(s) granted to the overcompensated entity must be auctioned (or sold to the store) to generate sufficient cash.


Rules
The following actions are not permitted. Performing any such action will result in the forfeiture of all Loot share and a fine of ₹5.00:
-Betrayal of the Expedition
-Intentional sabotage of the Expedition (defined as strategic choices blatantly likely to reduce the Expedition's chance of success- eg suicidal behaviour)
-Any attempt to violate any other rules set out in this agreement


Usage of Functional Loot
Any Functional Loot (eg equipment, consumables) obtained during the expedition may be used to further the expedition if all entities agree. Consumables used this way will not be counted towards the total Loot at the end of the expedition, even if they only affected one Hunter (eg a healing potion used on one member will be considered to have been to the equal advantage of all members of the Expedition).


Parting Ways
After each encounter, any member of the Expedition may choose to withdraw to Town rather than continue. When doing so, they will take any non-functional Loot obtained on the Expedition thusfar with them, which will be divided according to the Division of Loot section above. They will then be removed from this contract.
   -Should the Expedition be in possession of Functional Loot, then any entities choosing to continue may request that said items remain with the Expedition to bolster forwards progress. However, the returning entity/ies must be compensated with a portion of the value of such items according to their Loot Share (eg, if the expedition chose to retain a healing potion worth ₹1.20 (₹1.00 resale value+20%), and the returning entity had a Loot Share of 5/10, they would receive ₹0.60 from the continuing entity). Functional Loot that does not remain with the Expedition will be brought home and divided as normal.
No member may choose to split from the others yet still continue exploring, because trying to figure out how to divide the Loot before returning it to town sounds like a nightmare. You either stick with the group or go home.

The resale value+20% is an attempt to estimate the 'true' value of items, since the resale value is only the true value if nobody has any use for it. The number could be adjusted. Oh, I forgot to add a clause about the contract being changable with all parties' consent.

Anyway, this is basically what we'd propose if OMR chooses to join us. If we go solo, no contract will be needed, obvs.

Those Orders undersigned agree to pursue this Expedition in Good Faith, to maintain comradery with our fellow members, and to respect the noble animals for which NOCOF is named.

Each Order agrees to split the fruits of this Expedition in accordance with the percentage of reasonably-equipped Hunters they send initially, with regards to the overall size of the Expedition.  In the event a gained resource cannot be split evenly, individual Orders may reimburse the other members of the Expedition the difference to claim that particular resource.  Multiple members interested in a particular resource may bid on the item, with the proceeds split evenly among the remaining party members. 

Orders who wish to turn back are obligated to inform the other members of the Expedition of their intention at the start of the turn, in order to allow the other members to react accordingly.  If the party is split in this event, the members turning back are entitled to no more than their percentage of the loot gained up until this point, and forfeit any further gains during this Expedition.  In the event a member cannot obtain their full share of the loot in this case - whether due to encumbrance or some other reason - they likewise forfeit whatever share they are unable to recover.  This clause does not bar an Order from their share of the loot in the event all involved Orders mutually agree to turn back.

In the event that a Hunter is killed, the remaining members, if Encumbrance permits, are obligated to gather as much of the deceased Hunters equipment for the purpose of returning it to that Hunter's Order.  In the event that Encumbrance limits the collection of this equipment and gathered loot, the deceased Hunter's Order may offer to pay the remaining Orders the loots value to return the equipment, regardless.  In the event the deceased Hunter's order does not wish to pay the loots value, the equipment is forfeited and enters the loot pool.

All involved Orders are obligated to transfer the results of an encounter to the other Orders, in full, at the start of the turn.  Failure to do so in a reasonable amount of time may be indicated as a measure of Poor Faith.

Acts of Poor Faith committed by an Order in this agreement entitle the remaining Orders to the sum of the offending Orders assets, split evenly among all undersigned Orders - barring the offending Order.  Acts of Poor Faith include, in exhaustion, the following:

• Attempted or successful murder of an undersigned Orders Hunter involved in this Expedition.
• Deliberate endangerment of an undersigned Orders Hunter involved in this Expedition for the purpose of killing them.
• Demonstrably altered or fabricated Encounter reports transferred to undersigned Orders for the purpose of deceiving them.
• Attempting to hide, destroy, or unfairly claim loot in order to gain an unfair percentage of the fruits of this Expedition.
• Failure to transfer requested Encounter results to undersigned Orders with regards to this Expedition within 24 hours.
