I hope you have fun. Out of curiosity, what game is it that you joined?
Also, Magmacube, what will happen to Knighteing’s clade? Will it be able to be taken by a new player or will it just be gone?

Nothing. They will just be there, and will not evolve. No, they can't be taken, but they can be speciated out of.

Hi, i wuld like to join the game. I will rescue one of Kinghteing's creatures from evolutionary stasis.

I choose the Poer. This small ambush predator shall become the ancestor of my clade, the Rufiartis

Point expenditure:
1 point to speciate into cleaners in the Shielded Jungle The Poer becomes Bidelli. These small but sturdy balls of fluff are expert at digesting anyhing they find on the jungle floor.
1 point to speciate into Nectarivore in the Shielded Jungle. From waiting for creatures to eat near the flowers, to eating the flowes themselves the step is short. This possum-like creature jumps from flower to flower to sate its hunger. They are called Magnafiori.
1 point  to speciate into Arboreal Insectivore in the Shielded Jungle This animal resembles a dwarf form of its ancestor, and its preys are suitably smaller. Theyare the Dwarf Poers.
1 point to become a terrestrial granivore in the Cradle Savannah The changes this line has made are particularly profound, developing a communal social structure to hoard the precious seeds they feed on. They are the Semimiei.
1 point to speciate into osteophages in the Shielded Jungle. Despite the competition, some Poers developed a sturdier beak and a more acid stomach, to eat the bones other predators leave behind.  They are the Spezzaossa.

I imagine this clade as Griffin-like creatures, with fur, claws and beaks.

Round 2
Penalties are now applied. Also, Cradle Savanna is now filled entirely. You guys may want to expand offshore.

Global climate is still temperate, and the landmasses have shifted slightly.

Uh-oh, continents drifted further apart.
Shadowclaw is now quite ahead after a successful jump.

Do mountains count as a geographical boundary? Is there a penalty for a jump from Savanna of Jutting to the wast Desert?  Or, more importantly, does it add to the difficulty to jump from The Shielded Jungle to Descending Forest or I need to pay only for the attempt of Ocean crossing+biome change?

Also is switching biome from Savannah to Jungles easier than switching from Savannah to forest?

Yes, mountains are barriers. You need to roll more than 10 in the passing dice to pass.

It does add. It increases to above 15.

They are equal. Savanna and Jungle are the same tempature, and the Forest and Jungle are the same type, forested. You will get a -6 if you try to speciate from a jungle to a plains biome, since that counts as two separate movements.

How hopping to an island works? They have 2 niches... Is there a penalty to jump from, let's say, small browser to a generalist island herbivore?

If I will try to move Jumping Rootgnawers (small browsers)  to island will it be -3 for the biome change, -3 for the niche change, -X for sea crossing?

Whatever, Rolls and tactics be damned, I want to roleplay a major branching event. I hope one or two will roll 18+ or something

1 point Long-tailed Bonegnawers:14 (Small predator, Cradle Savanna) to Jungle Fishgnawers (Small predator, The Shielded Jungle)
1 point Long-tailed Bonegnawers:14 (Small predator, Cradle Savanna) to Island Fishgnawers (Predator, Isolated Serenity)
1 point Long-tailed Bonegnawers:14 (Small predator, Cradle Savanna) to Savanna Fishgnawers (Small predator, Savanna of Jutting)
1 points Long-tailed Bonegnawers:14 (Small predator, Cradle Savanna) to Forest Fishgnawers (Small predator, New Zealand Lite)
1 point Long-tailed bonegnawers:14 (Small predator, Cradle Savanna) to Steppe Fishgnawers (Small predator, Plains of Passing)

Fishgnawers is a somewhat misleading name. While members of this clade were great swimmers and did consume a lot of fish, they were also quite capable of predation on land even if they usually stayed near bodies of water to avoid large predators. It is believed that this clade developed from subspecies of Long-tailed Bonegnawers who resided in sporadic lakes and rivers of the wast Cradle Savanna as well as on the coast. Being excellent swimmers, Fishgnawers spread very quickly. Some moved upstream to the ancient jungles, while others moved into the ocean and managed to reach numerous small islands and even other continents.

Eventually, some Fishgnawers became fully aquatic species but this is unrelated to the subject of the terrestrial evolutionary history. See the work of my good friend Dr. Goodwell if you are interested in marine evolution.

Geographical crossing has a dice of its own. It doesn't adds or subtracts from E.S dice.

Islander niches' conditions are listed in the niche spectrum at the initial post. Yes, as you jump both biome and niches, there will be a -6 penalty in total.

After much consideration, I decided to add Endoparasite as a separate niche from the Ectoparasite. Yay for internal vertebrate parasites and a ''f*ck you'' for realist SpecEvo fans. It will be the same as ectoparasite, found in every biome.
