The Intro
Come and listen, I have a story to tell. A story of an end, impending doom and of a silence that lasted eons.
Long, long time ago, there was a time that all the realms were stable and people from everywhere prospered, for they had an anchor to keep it that way, a light which radiates from the outer voids very core. A citadel. The Citadel.
And since it had such significance, alot of people lived around the Citadel, in fact, it was the capital of culture and sciences across all realms, with its mere existance being an architectural wonder of titanic proportions. All kinds of impossible technologies were possible only there, with its proximity to the light.
All kinds of different beings lived there, from small round elephant-esque critters to literal gods. They mostly co-existed in peace and harmony, and ones that couldn't, lived in separate parts of it.
But one day, light went awry, it turned from its pure white to a cacaphony of colors that hurt our eyes. We tried to contact them, but no one answered. Only screaming came from the other end.
Ones that went to check on them almost never returned, ones that did, weren't themselves anymore, and had to be put down. Not even the mighty armadas of Mir'cri-Tan and Roxobl that went to settle their claims there ever did return.
To this day, we don't know what happened, all we know is that it is dangerous. The light is still corrupted.
And as long as it is that way, the Multiverse shall slowly crumble, and all shall distort and twist, without an anchor. I hardly remember the times it wasn't. It was so long ago.
Who can save it? Not me. I am too old. But maybe someone? Just maybe, against all odds, save everyone from destruction?
Welcome, to The Spiral, a story driven RP-RTD game about a party of adventuring heroes saving the reality from collapsing, and facing many wonders and enemies along the way.
You can be whatever you wish. Something derived from your forum name and profile, a person from a species from a piece of media, something you came up on the fly, anything. Just don't make them OP.
The story will be pieced out by both a set sequence of events, and your luck and actions.
Your luck is determined by, yes you guessed it, a dice roll. Battles, voyages and other such active, moves are bound to this, while scouting, conversing, and other passive actions are not, and their return will be fit to the environment and the situation you are in.
There will be a way to respawn if one of you perishes in any way, won't say what as it will be a spoiler.
The dice is 20-sided. The values are...
1-4= Epic failure. You fail miserably.
5-8= Failure. You fail, but it could be worse.
9-12= Neutral. The result are mostly nothing.
13-16= Good. Your action has succeeded.
17-20= Awsome. Your action went better than expected.
The 5 result types also vary inside themselves. For example, a 12 is a better neutral than 9.
Know that once at least 5 players are in, the game will be full, and no longer allow more players in. Unless one quits, and we will need a replacement.
This is an RP game, so please play along in your actions, but simple commands are also fine.
