SynthmeatInjury was not an uncommon thing in a society that utilized military equipment with minimal military experience. Prostheses in the Vault were...acceptable at best, with clamp hands for grabbing and stumps that would end in shoes. There was another issue regarding diet. For all that the Vault provided, people still preferred to down the convenience foods over the healthier protein mush and hydration gels, and this led to many, many internal health issues as time passed. To solve these problems, the Nuka Families set up a medical research team to develop a means of creating synthetic replacements.
Using a slurry of protein and Nuka-derivative mash, the Nuka Families were able to develop a human-adjacent meat-type product. With a little bit of stem cell persuasion, this slurry can develop into specific body parts and organs. The first organ transplants went, unfortunately, about as poorly as they could have. Not only were the synthorgans rejected 100% of the time, but the Nuka-based formula was toxic to natural human meats. Adjustments to the Nuka formula, ultimately requiring the toxic meat to be processed through a second Nuka-based formula to remove the toxins, but rejection rates remained between 98% and 100%.
One adventurous Nuka 98er, wanting to remain in the lab to work, decided to cook some synthmeat on a burner and try to eat it. The synthmeat was
delicious, and not only that, but it provided all the nutritional benefits of the protein mush with some taste and caffeine boost added by the Nuka concoctions! Unfortunately, in order to get the taste and benefits, every step of the "cloning" process was required. A small number within the Nuka Families were made aware of this secret sweet meat, and indulged in pseudocannibalism in the privacy of their own homes. As weeks went on it became harder and harder to produce Synthmeat while avoiding the scrutinous eye of the NukaGuard, and eventually the Council learned of it. There was uproar among the Independent Families, while the Nuka Families argued for maintaining production of the wondermeat. Ultimately, the decision came to the Chiefs.
Ethics be damned, synthmeat made the most commonly available food source palatable and cut down on the harm caused by a convenience food-heavy diet while keeping some of the flavors and effects. Once prepared, the delicious food was indistinguishable from other types of meat anyway. What did it matter that it was lab-grown human-based meat? Good food, regardless of the source, could only boost morale, and when you're a few hundred people locked in a glorified basement, morale is priority.
As time has passed and families have expanded, the need for an education system reared it's head.
Propose an education system for Vault 98. Include what sort of topics are focused on, age range, how careers are determined, and anything else you'd like to include to define learning in the Vault.

Nukagate Conspiracy: High amounts of food and drink stockpiles have led to a scientific power bloc through intermarried families. Products produced from luxury foods are impressive, including liquid nuclear fuel. Solid checks and balances between Nuka Families and Independent Families. Life is very good for the vault dwellers, but not perfect.
NukaGuard: A poorly-regulated militarization of the Vault's citizenry after discovery of a massive weapons cache has led to a dominating cult of personality built up around the two Chiefs. The Chiefs took many opportunities to empower themselves and their militia. A nonlethal Quartzgun was developed to incapacitate and/or mark criminals with a white glow. The NukaGuard itself was also formed as am elite 6-man Power Armor unit.
Synthmeat: Failed experimentation led to the creation of human-clone meat with remarkable taste and nutritional benefits. The Vault willingly adopted synthmeat as a viable source of food. Many disagreed at first, but ultimately the Families fell in line behind the Chiefs to accept pseudocannibalism into their lives.
