You continue to pet the cat. It continues to wind around your feet. You know the terrible thing will happen June 29th of 2038 - this year.

You pick up the cat, who squirms a bit at first but is remarkably chill about the entire following experience. You run out onto the street, making it about three houses down before two cop cars pull up next to you.

You yell in the faces of the cops and get cuffed and roughly shoved in the back of a car for your troubles. The cat runs off and hides in a shrub.

Kick out the back window then crawl out and run.

You curl up then hit the window, hard, with both feet. Miraculously, the entire window comes out of its frame and you quickly slither out before the cops sitting in the front can reach around to grab you. The car is already moving at a decent speed down the road so you roll a bit on impact, scraping and scuffing seemingly everywhere on your body, unable to stop yourself with your bound hands.

You yell and yell, but your hair doesn't even turn a little bit yellow. Up the road, the cars are turning around.

You fumblingly manage to extract it with both hands stuffed into one pocket, finding what turns out to be an old, splintery wooden ring with a faded stain on one side that might have used to say something. You start running; an awkward, painful gait caused by a combination of your cuffed hands and your battered body. You're at least able to make it to a side path that the cars can't fit down.

Die like a ninja.

Not knowing how to do anything like a ninja you settle for "don't get caught by cops, like a ninja" and continue running down the path. After a while you're confident that you've ducked down enough side paths and over enough fences that you're probably clear, for now. The sun has crested and you feel confident in saying that it is now afternoon.
