So i have been playing DF adventure mode again aftera long break but i ran into the issue that after getting my horse nobody wants to join me neither as follower or hearthsperson although i killed a roc a goblin chief and like 45 goblins and bandits i went to town and told people about my achievments but it does not seem to do anything for me.
I am a lord after conquering a Goblin fort if that matters.
Also they never react to my Bragging, could it be that somethings bugged or am i doing something wrong?

Most NPCs are virtual blank slates who do not know about any of the people you killed. In fact they don't know about dogs unless they have explicitly seen one on-screen. Yes, it's kinda funny but also broken and annoying, sorry.

Are you just bragging or are you also spreading rumors? Bragging seems to be an act of intimidation and who knows what exactly that achieves; it may not actually convey knowledge of events.

And yeah, when spreading rumors of your conquests, it helps to first spread rumors of the evil acts your victims conquests committed, so that people know that your killing them was a good thing.

Did you lower your Social Awareness skill in character creation? That is said to affect how many companions you can hav.

Only companions that are with you count, so you could tell the horse to wait somewhere, like a camp.

you could also just pursue the wonderful world of bards and just get folks to join you out of entertainment which so far all you need is endless hours of doing performances and convincing folks the wonderful world of art to get them to agree to you.
or go down the Shepard route and forgo sapient folk and just build an army of stray animals.
or just get a bunch of adventurers and just retire after an journey and add a new one to the party.

Yeah, for some reason, the name of the creature isn't available for filtering on those rumors. And filterring for "death" or "slew" doesn't work. (Though there is a DFHack addon that adds "slew" and the name, adv-rumors bound to Ctrl+a by default.) You'll hav to filter for "fight" and look at each line for the line where you slew it. (Ridiculously, this is made much harder by the fact that every time some wild animal runs away it counts as a "fight".)

well here's the ordeal most folks music skills aren't even there so you just need to do a few like around enough to get one skill level in any performances and you pretty much surpass most of the locals on musical skill. you might hit some issues getting bards though but everyone else is pretty much wowed by your performances... or find some drunks in a hilltop and pick those up.

also the act of doing a performance creates an event and gives you fame on that alone.
