Aurora, Friedhold
For just the briefest moment, the spider's gaze drifted to the new arrival in the hall. A face she'd not seen in quite some time. Her senses were still somewhat opened, and she couldn't help but feel something... off as she watched Mitsurugi listlessly get pulled into conversation.
"...why do I sense two? Could she...? Hmmm. I'll have to take a better look later."
She returned her attention to Friedhold "Hm. Perhaps under normal circumstances it would be, but... I don't think I can quite convey just how much the girl has circulating through her right now. I could barely even notice the parasite beneath it all."
Her legs shifted as she finished the basic sheet of silk that would serve as the new garment's template. With a few quick folds and turns, she began to pick, snip, and tighten at various threads throughout it's length with dizzying precisions, beginning the alterations that would soon give the garb it's form. "I'm... not entirely certain, but if you tried to remove the parasite at this point... I think she may well survive it. Whatever complications usually arrive, there's plenty of life in her to overcome them. It may even give a bit of a sink for the excess and slow down this rampant growth of hers. Of course though, right now this is just an idea. Even with my powers, you're still probably better acquainted with her unique anatomy than I am."

Spoiler: Crafting Results (click to show/hide)

Lyra just stared as the injuries that 6D had sustained disappeared before her eyes. She nearly wanted to jump for joy, but stopped herself. "6-6D, how are you feeling?"

Kraken, Mitsurugi

She simply nodded in response. That was the justification, yes, but one that seemed ever more pale as time passed. "That is why I am here." She would destroy and destroy until it grew to encompass herself. There was a thin string of hope in the form of men like the one she spoke to, people who seemed to genuinely respect her status and see her for what she was, rather than just another of their fellows.

Kraken, Mitsurugi

Kraken nodded. It was all he could really do, he knew he hadn't exactly cheered her up but he also wasn't the best at doing that kind of thing to begin with. So with a look that distinctly said "I want to help more but I don't know how." he patted her on the shoulder and smiled. "I... know I'm not a huge help but uh... if you want to talk about stuff in the future the least I can do is listen."

Kraken, Mitsurugi

"I appreciate this gesture. However, do not concern yourself overmuch with my well-being. It is my duty to do the reverse. Think of ways this humble goddess could protect you; that is all I require." Mitsurugi gestured loosely at herself when the statement addressed her. It wasn't seemly for her to be in such constant and obvious emotional turmoil, besides. She could not allow any part of herself to continue to fray, especially now. She felt almost. . . ill, an unusual and foreboding sensation. "If you believe you require anything of me, ask freely." At the very least, she should still be able to answer prayers. If she couldn't. . .

6D

6D let out a sigh as she felt her repair systems kick in again, integrating with the green sharicyte and using it to fix the still-damaged internals and other functions. "...Yeah! I feel great!" she said. "You two don't have to feel bad anymore, ok? You fixed me, so it's all alright, right?" That was the priority for her - she wasn't sure why they felt bad entirely, she had simply been doing her job, but now that she was fixed they wouldn't anymore, right?

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Lyra

Lyra nodded, but she wasn't happy that she'd succeeded. She was just relieved that her mistake wasn't going to stick. Lyra took a deep breath and looked 6D in the eyes (or at least, where her eyes would be). "Mmh. And I'll do everything in my power to ensure that never happens again."

It should've been me. After all, it was my fault, was what she didn't say.

Suddenly, remaining in the presence of two people she'd failed didn't seem like such a good idea after all. With nothing more to add, Lyra simply turned and left, only to unwittingly bump into a lady wearing a set of robes. Taking a moment to regain her balance, Lyra noticed Kraken and gave an awkward wave before saying, "Sorry about that. Are you all right?"

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

Kraken was about to respon when someone accidently bumped into Mitsu. It takes him a moment before the identity of said person clicks in his head. "Oh hey Lyra." He quickly greets before turning to the goddess once more, expression silently asking her if  she's okay.

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

The goddess brushed off their concern as she turned to face the interloper. "I am fine, but you should be more cognizant of your path. Some in my station would be very displeased with your actions." Mitsurugi took a moment to look over the other woman. "I do not believe we have met."

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

Lyra just nodded, holding back a sigh of tiredness. She never would stop messing up, would she? Extending her hand forward, Lyra simply said, "So it would seem. I'm Lyra Concept, Independent Contractor. It's good to meet you, Miss...?"

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

Mitsurugi took the hand and gave it a single perfunctory shake, letting her own drop back to her side before replying. "Saigai-no-Mitsurugi-no-Kami. Goddess of disasters and a guardian spirit to those that would still have me."

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

Lyra just raised an eyebrow, before realizing what she was doing could be considered rude. "Aah... I'm sorry, I'm just... Not terribly familiar with deities in general... B-back in the Drift, the most anyone had was the Voidmother, and, well... she wasn't exactly..." Lyra shook her head. "Let me start over." With that, Lyra knelt down and bowed - hopefully enough to make up for the lack of reverence earlier, right?

Being smote by a goddess was, frankly, the last thing she needed.

Kraken, Mitsu, Lyra

The operator had decided to let the two ladies talk it out on his own, but when Lyra started to flounder, mentioning deities from her home.... Well, he was equal parts curious and wanted to fold in on himself like a black hole had spontaneously spawned in the direct center of himself so he could both avoid having to try and cheer up Mitsu again, and so he didn't want to strangle Lyra quite so much.

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

The sorrowful, almost shameful look in Mitsurugi's eyes returned as she gazed down to where Lyra was kowtowing. "Guardian spirit," she repeated, her voice quiet. It was if fate itself were playing a cruel joke on her, reading her wishes for respect as a deity and throwing them into her face almost as soon as they surfaced in her mind. "If I destroyed all who slighted me in any way, I would have obliterated this castle or had the same done to myself by now."

Kraken, Mitsurugi, Lyra

Lyra looked up when the goddess had said she shouldn't have been afraid. That's when she saw the look in the goddess' eyes.

Oh.

Shit.

"I, uh, sorry, I just..." Lyra stood up hastily, trying to search for the words that would make it all better, knowing full well they didn't exist, "I didn't mean to make you feel worse, okay? I'm just not sure what the proper way to show respect to a deity is, all right? It's my fault for fumbling about like that..."

After a few moments to regain some semblance of composure, Lyra began again, looking Mitsurugi in the eyes. "Okay, uh... Third attempt." Just like the first, Lyra extended her hand forward. "Lyra Concept, Independent Contractor.  It's nice to meet you, Saigai-no-Mitsurugi-no-Kami. Have you been brought to help us eliminate the Trespassers as well? Is there any way I can serve you?"

She didn't need to look over her shoulder to know that Kraken was already glaring at her like he was going to bust her one. She just hoped that this could salvage her repeated mistakes at least a little bit.
