Tsubasa sheathed her blade with a quick motion, as if she were simply taking another step. She only opened her eyes after it had rested in place for a second, placing her immediately in front of the unfamiliar swordsman. "Mm. Ten?" The demon slayer looked the stranger up and down as she thought. "Six years since I started formal instruction, less since I found my own path." Her golden eyes fixed him with a sharp look, expression unreadable. "Why?"

Tsubasa, Osada

Instinctively, Osada let out a whistle once the girl told him, or at least gave an estimate, on how long she had been training, "Ten huh? That's pretty impressive for someone who looks as young as you. And as for why-" pausing for a short moment, Osada gave a little shrug, "Just a curiosity, and it's a conversation starter that I picked up from my own travels. Had to figure out some way to break the ice when meeting a fellow sword master."

Tsubasa, Osada

"Master?" She glanced off to the side and upward, considering the statement for a moment. "I suppose you could call me that. Sanada Tsubasa, founder of Lightning Breathing." She gives a quick bow, indicating she regarded herself as an equal to Osada. "Saying I started at six years old might be an exaggeration, but that's how long I've been around the Demon Slayer corps. It happens when you're like me."

Tsubasa, Osada

"Founder of a style and a member of a Demon Slaying group? That's a pretty high bar. But name's Osada Tsuneo, a..." Osada began trailing off for a moment as he thought about something, "Hrm... Can't say I founded the Niten Ichi-ryū style, but I am an advanced practitioner of it" he commented before ultimately shrugging yet again, "Eh, not that it matters much. Onto more important things though, Lightning Breath? I'm sincerely hoping that actually incorporates, ya know, breathing lightning into your fighting style."

The Demon Slayer furrowed her eyebrows at the other swordsman. ". . . No. It's a Breathing incorporating elements from both the Water and Thunder Breathings. It's actually partially inspired by the Niten Ichi-ryuu style." She tilted her head slightly. "If you've read the Book of Five Rings, then you probably understand most of the philosophy behind it."

"... Ah. That makes my more sense. Regardless, it's good to know that your style is based off of Niten Ichi-Ryū. Gives us a bit more room to find common ground, no?" Osada asked, tilting his head as well as if to help further his point before quickly returning it to its normal position, "Still, not too familiar with these Breathing styles. I'd ask how it works, but I'm more of an on hands learner myself."

Tsubasa, Osada

She gave a short nod. "As I'd expect." She took a few steps back, leaving a traditional distance between them. "I'd like to see your mastery." Something about her stance shifted; it didn't seem like she was properly preparing for combat, yet it wasn't a simple conversational one either. Or, perhaps, it was - just for a different kind of conversation.

Tsubasa, Osada

Though he had no doubts, Osada was relieved to see that Tsubasa got his message, flashing the lady a small grin as he drew his own swords, shifting himself into his own proper stance. He wasn't concerned about winning a little duel like this, more so hoping that he could pick up a thing or two from this "Lightning Style". And thus, Osada let out a held breath, right before his casual expression hardened, the swordsman taking the first step, lifting his sword off of his shoulder as he advanced.

It was time to put on a better performance than his last duel.

Tsubasa, Osada

The swordswoman took the delay to recenter herself. No killing today. Her techniques were many things, but easily restrained was not one of them. Moving before forethought happened made it difficult to temper the power or direction of a blow, and fighting other humans was a rare pastime.

She let Osada walk several steps toward her, seemingly without even noticing he moved. Her breathing remained even, almost unnaturally so, and her eyes seemed to be watching nothing at all. That is, until the vagrant swordsman walked into that invisible sphere she knew by heart: the distance she could reliably kill from with a drawing cut. Lightning Breathing, First Form. With a streak of blue, her blade flashed outward and upward, headed straight for Osada's throat. Bolt from Blue Skies!

Tsubasa, Osada

As soon as Tsubasa made her move, Osada did as well, his eyes instinctively flicking to the drawing sword coming straight for his neck. She wasn't pulling her punches, that was for sure, and he appreciated that. An instant after he recognized the swing, Osada's natural instinct took over, the swordsman turning his body and leaning back, the blade aimed for his throat harmlessly passing above his face. What would've been an ample opening, however, was quickly covered up as Osada used the movement of his turn to spin back around, his left sword swinging at Tsubasa's midsection, his right sword pulled back in preparation for a thrust should Tsubasa block his attack.

Tsubasa, Osada

Osada's blade passed within a breath of her abdomen as she dodged backward, letting the returning momentum of her own attack feed into her motion. Wasting no time, the evasive maneuver flowed directly into another cut as if it had been pre-planned; Tsubasa shifted leftward (relative to Osada), placing her further out of reach of his right sword, and her own moved to cut downward at his arm.

With naught else to keep her in the throne hall, Aurora had seen herself out quiet as the wind. She had little to go on, but it would be fine. Searching would give her time to think, time to plan.

About both Mitsu's problem, and her own.

Aurora has left the Ballroom to search for Lyra and Kraken

Tsubasa, Osada

With his sword failing to meet any resistance, Osada refrained from thrusting forward, especially with the fact that Tsubasa had moved even further out of his range. Readjusting to his opponent's movements, Osada took another step forward, turning his body so that his right sword could be raised against Tsubasa's strike, a loud clang erupting as the two blades met, if only for a moment before Osada pushed Tsubasa's sword to the side, the swordsman using the chance to take a step back this time, swiping upwards with his left sword to cover his momentary retreat.

Tsubasa, Osada

The Slayer let herself rock backward, minimizing the force of the blades clashing. She virtually fell downward as she renewed her assault, the uppercut passing within inches of her face as she cut at Osada low. The Nichirin-to arced outward in a flash of blue as Tsubasa committed entirely to the attack, throwing all of her momentum into the slice. Her breathing stayed even the entire time, as if she were simply sitting still and meditating.

Tsubasa, Osada

For most conventional fighters, Tsubasa's maneuver would've easily caught them flat footed, with a sloppy response all but guaranteed. For Osada, however, already seemed prepared for this outcome, stopping his backward motion before pushing back once again. But instead of meeting Tsubasa's attack, he chose instead to avoid it all together, leaping over Tsubasa as the Slayer dived into the ground, all while he landed back on his feet, ready for more.

... Yet, despite the opening that had been presented, Osada didn't rush to take advantage of it, instead giving Tsubasa time to recover from the attack, arms loose at his side, "Damn, it really feels like you weren't kidding about the ten years. You haven't changed your breathing pattern once this entire time."
