Newton wakes up, fluffs out his feathers, and yawns, facing a new day.
Or an old day. Maybe that was just a nap, he speculates, his brain rattling off silly ideas at mile-a-minute pace.
Nevertheless, new or old, his eyes alight on a new problem: There isn't much decorating this lovely nest. He needs to pick up new things.
Thinking.. it seems unlikely to steal items from the big people around here. Most of them seem so strong, he thinks, considering the wolf-person, and the odd man with the spear. And the others, the ones whom he only glimpsed.. they all seem strong too. Plus I can only get a proper shiny when they die.
Better to fight with them, he thinks. See the real enemies. These strong people should kill them, no problem. And it's always okay to steal from the bad guys.
Still.. I should do something to decorate this place. Show off what I can do and make something nice for people to look at. And, he thinks further, I should also mark this suite better. Maybe a nameplate.
..hmm, but that one person couldn't read. There might be more. I'd better do a picture.
Newton goes for a crafting attempt. He's going to try and decorate his door, with a picture of a blossoming tree branch. In it, to represent the door as his, will be a crow's nest, with crow. This will also include a brass nameplate with "Newton" written on it, and it'll be done in a fairly stylistic manner, to emphasize it as both a work of art and to ensure the crow is the central figure, so as to make it easier to understand for any illiterates.
He will remove his door to get it to the crafting area by using a punch or screwdriver to remove the hinges, and then, slowly from the top-down, will insert it into featherspace, wings stretched wide. He can then remove it onto a workbench, allowing it to lie flat with the outside edge up.
The picture will be largely a relief sculpture, done with fine woodworking tools, and some paint to add colour and make the design more clear. The nameplate will be made with whatever etching tools are available. A slot will be made for it inside the wood, with the free edge secured by glue.
Relevant stats are 14 in Int, and 14 in Dex. Do note that although he can move the door to a workbench, I haven't figured out a way for him to replace the door back in the doorway without external assistance yet.
