Navin, Uzti, Mar, and Hibiki
Kraken watches the newcomer start to walk off, turning back to Navin with a confused look and a silent question of "Is that normal?" before walking after her, cupping his hands over his mouth to half shout to her. "I'm just saying what that other guy told us before you got here.... Do you even know where you're going?" He asked, no knowing himself but deciding it was probably better that he "escort" her rather than letting her just trundle around the... castle? It was made of stone, and the only buildings he knew of made of stone that looked this way were castles. It could be a fort though, but those aren't as cool even if a nice hill fort could possibly offer a better tactical advantage.

Mira, L, Alexandria, Lyra

"... There's plenty of other people around. Why spar with me in particular?" Mira asked, still primarily focused on her work rather than L. She didn't comment on L hoping that they'd be helpful, those above did bring her here for a reason, which naturally meant she would be. If not, well, they'd figure that out quickly.

Mira, L, Alexandria, Lyra

L was caught off guard by Mira's response. "Um. You're the first swordswoman I've run across." I should have gone with the mysterious wanderer thing. Serves me right for trying to be friendly. "Forget I said anything." I got this far alone.

The meister glanced back at her guides. "I'll just look for a place to sleep myself, I guess." Mira rebuffing her had rapidly curdled her desire to continue speaking - and her ability to keep the weight of exhaustion from nearly crushing her frame as she started to move away.

Mira, L, Alexandria, Lyra

Figures that was how Mira was going to react. Moving to L's side, Lyra said, "Like I said, Mira's not the friendliest. Maybe wait for a battle or something if you really want to impress her. If you're looking for someone to spar with, by the way, I'd be open to it. Sure, I'm hardly an expert in using a blade, but I know a little bit about melee combat, and it'll probably help you improve if you fight opponents who use all sorts of weapons."

The contractor wasn't quite sure why she was so eager to help out L. Maybe it was 'cause she felt bad for earlier, or thought that L needed someone to show she didn't have to go it alone... at any rate, it would probably be good for Lyra to brush up on her skills.

Navin, Kraken, Utzi, Mar, and Hibiki
Utzi shakes off the thoughts of the glacier, as he turns his attention away from the memories. He watches the commotion of the strange... likely armored person, yelling words that did not make sense. Shaking his head in confusion, Utzi glances over at Mar. "I apologize, honored elder, I think I need a moment to reflect."

With that, Utzi steps through the doorway from the bedroom of the barracks into the connecting hallway, where he sits upon the floor and lets out a sigh that causes of puff of visible air to pass through his lips.

"Sleep well," Alexandria calls after L, "If you should require assistance, or even simply an ear to listen, I am always available.  I do not require sleep, so I am unlikely to be bothered, regardless of the hour."

L, Lyra, Utzi

"Don't worry about it. I should keep sharp, but I was just trying to be helpful." She shrugged. "I won't say no if you want to get some practice in after I sleep, though. I need to practice fighting without my holy weapon, anyway." Exhaustion pulled at her enough to prevent her from noting the wide man immediately; she jumped slightly when she realized there was yet another person there. Even more people, great. This is something that always goes well. L stopped where she was, letting out a quiet "Um. . ." when she realized the man had also seemingly missed her presence.

L, Lyra, Utzi

Utzi glances up from his slumped-over position, and regards L and Lyra with tired, painful eyes that seem to look almost right through them, lingering for only a second on L's ears and tail. "I apologize, am I in the way?"

Utzi pushes himself to his feet, dark bags under his eyes made only more apparent by his weary gaze. "I am Utzi."

Navin, Hibiki, Kraken

Navin passed a hand through his hair in some level of frustration - although he had expected a new arrival or two when he'd stepped into the barracks in the first place, the whole area was rapidly becoming far more crowded than he'd anticipated. And though he was a celebrity and a public figure, Navin had actually always been quite poor at dealing with crowds, outside of combat. He'd usually pawned the issue off on his comrades when he could, especially his friend Vasu, who had always been much better at dealing with the spotlight, and when he couldn't, it was usually in a village similar to his own - familiar. But this wasn't that comforting, and this time Vasu wasn't around to help him sort it out, and he had begun to flounder.

...still, he could not really afford to just stand around, he suspected. The newest arrival, the power-armored one, struck Navin as a potential Cicivexa situation, and that did merit action. Navin cleared his throat awkwardly, and turned to Kraken as he began to hurry to follow. "Do not worry - she has not physically or magically attacked yet, which does put her ahead of some of the other new arrivals. And we are currently in a scenario where we do not have to worry about her calling any attack in. Still..."

Navin's pace grew brisk as he followed after Hibiki - he was more used to full-on running, but the show of aggression probably wouldn't end well, and he was more than fit enough to manage a good speedwalk anyhow. He made sure to let the timbre of his voice project from his lungs as he called out towards Hibiki - "Hold on a moment!" He continued, a bit more quietly: "Instead of simply wandering around somewhere you did not expect to be and know something about, talking to someone who I would wager is not answering you, would you like to know what is actually going on?"

L, Lyra, Utzi

Lyra waved at the broad-shouldered man, a little uneasy after seeing how he was looking through people and not at them. Unsure of how to proceed, Lyra simply said, "Hello. I'm Lyra Concept, and this is L. Nice to meet you," extending her hand out to shake. No reason to be impolite, no matter the circumstances.

L, Lyra, Utzi
Utzi stares at the outstretched hand for a long, uncomfortable moment, as he attempts to figure out what he's supposed to do. Eventually, the caveman simply places a closed fist within her hand. He's frigid to the touch, and his flesh gives a little less than it should, more similar in feel and texture to a frozen chunk of meat than that of a living person. "It is nice to meet you as well. Have you also just been brought to this strange place?"

L, Lyra, Utzi

L shook her head at the question, but waited for Lyra and Utzi to finish speaking before replying. "I think she's been here for at least a little while. I'm new, too. You, uh, weren't in the way, by the way." She didn't feel like explaining that her hesitation had been born of only hesitation and awkwardness. Awkwardness which continued as she surreptitiously continued to look the man over. He looked almost like an exaggerated version of a man that one might've seen in media back in her original world, rather than what she was familiar with (and she'd spent more time than she would admit to anyone looking at men.) "Lyra, remind me to ask you a question later."

L, Lyra, Utzi

Lyra nodded, trying not to show her confusion as she firmly shook a fist that didn't seem to belong to a human at all. "You do know why we're here, yes? Dangerous creatures called 'Trespassers' that want to destroy everything?"

When L asked Lyra to remind her about the question, Lyra simply looked towards L and nodded. "I'll do that."

L, Lyra, Utzi
Utzi nods, relieved to be done with the strange arm-moving ritual of the human woman. "I know of them. They are like a cave bear, but secretive and more powerful. I can only hope my spears can help bring down such a beast, they sound far greater than anything I've hunted before."

Utzi glances over to L after she mentions she's also new, his face once again growing somber as he examines the tired woman's face. "If you are new as well, you have also just lost everything. I plan to hold a funeral for those I have lost as soon as I have what I need for one. Would you like a chance to grieve?"

L, Lyra, Utzi

The words almost seemed to stun L; for a moment, all she did was stare blankly forward. She shook it off, her expression settling into a grim determination. "No. I haven't." The declaration was aimed at herself as much as Utzi. "Not yet." Her brows drew downward further still. "My world still exists. And my Queen will always be there, waiting for me to come back." She gritted her teeth. You have no way of knowing that. You can't even figure out which world is - Her expression turned into a grimace of pain, cutting off whatever else she'd planned to say. L cursed under her breath without fully realizing she did so. "Sorry. I don't want to step on your grief, but I know the Queen of Shadows is still waiting for her Knight to return. And that's what I'm going to do, even if it takes a million years."
