Veenland, Pregame History Turn 8.
It was only natural that the nation would do what it could to ensure that the Boers were able to gain the freedom they deserved from the Tyrants of the British Empire. And partially due to our help they were able to get everything and a bit more. While still under the British, they were far less so than they likely would have if it wasn't for our intervention. However, their own efforts are not to be dismissed. They did well in fighting off the British, and their efforts were just as skillful as our own. Still, even with this and cause for celebration, back at home there was tensions brewing up north. The Republic of Magna Mongadizafra, a capitalist nation that broke free from the Spanish many years ago, before we got our own freedom, has...
(Note, the enemy will pick one of three similar options.)
1. Been shown by our own spy rings to have committed horrific oppression of the working class. A number of strikes, possibly inspired by our statements of it being the weapon of the working class, had sprung up lately. And, they were cracked down upon hard. Worse, even though they have no evidence, they blame us for these strikes rather than their clear and blatant oppression and need for reform. Of course, we pointed out their activities and harsh crack downs, and naturally called for the people to use their system for change, but this was only used for propaganda and as 'proof' that we were the cause of all these strikes...
2. Sent a large number of fishing ships through our sea's and encroached upon our territory with blatant disregard. Naturally we acted accordingly, and eventually started sending ships to escort them away, yet one of their ships had the great idea to try and ram us...Needless to say, a fishing ship with little to no armor ramming a cruiser didn't end well for the fishing ship. Even so, this inflamed tensions as the crew was interned for questioning and due to their obvious crime of ramming one of the people's vessels for no reason other than their greed. After this incident, a bunch of Jingoists of Magna decided it would be a great idea to follow in their example, and in some cases, their government supported such action.
3. Much to our slight embarrassment, captured an agent of ours. While they couldn't get a confession out of him, they still blamed us, and claimed a wild conspiracy to try and destabilize their nation through the destruction of their government so that we could take it over and spread our ideology. Which is obviously preposterous. If we wanted to do such a thing, we would instead focus our efforts in getting the proletariat to go on strike and force reform through revolution or civil disobedience rather than actually go after their government. Of course, what the oppressed working class do to the people of the Magna government in the case of the revolution option is up to them, but we'd certainly not be doing so directly...Regardless, they still blamed us...
