So I rolled a new world and noticed that, most of the civilizations in my game are pretty spread apart from one another- but that, through the worst war in the continents history, one of only two dwarven fortresses in the southern dwarven civilization is actually controlled by goblins. So I put together a crack team of emotionless killing machine dwarves, devoid of any sense of empathy or artistic value and accompanied by about 30 wardogs to check the place out. Killed vast swathes of goblins, recovered some artifacts, and marveled at the vast horde of wealth. Then I got half my squad murdered when I tried to antagonize some demons hanging around the lowest level of tunnels.
This got me thinking that reclaiming this site would be a lot of fun, and certainly more manageable than trying to cart off this wealth with a group of pack animals in adventure mode. But, it is an occupied site- still under control by the goblin civ, and as far as I know you can only reclaim ruins. Are there any player actions that can render this site reclaimable? Can I raze the site through missions in fort mode, or claim the site as an adventurer and do something that way? Or am I limited to hoping something just happens to render the site a ruin in legends inbetween hopping from adventurer to fort mode and back?
As an aside: there are quite a few demons in this fort. There's nothing in legends about this site digging too deep, and they weren't immediately hostile (though upon time passing two weeks and re-taking control of a party member, they moved from the tunnels into the room with the rest of the forts population and do spam "identify yourself"). Does this behavior indicate they're part of the goblin civ? Regardless of what I end up doing, killing these demons is definitely a new long term goal- they severed my adventurers feet and threw him into a pool of water, they're vicious!
