I'm probably the greenest player here in all honesty, and I too disagree with the deadmafia chat.

And to clarify, I may be a somewhat old user on the forums with prior experience playing mafia but that both was a decade or so ago and sparce.

Yeah, there may be some problems with allowing the mafia to remain so active after death without it being their role benefit.

Perhaps a much milder version? In addition to allowing the standard bah post, a dead mafioso can make a single game-relevant post in the mafiachat, not using any deadchat information? Which would allow them to give some advice but without maintaining their presence.

I honestly don't think it makes much of a difference either way unless there were powers that allow speaking or raising the dead. Experienced players are going to be responsible, Mafia ICs could always keep posting in the quicktopic in beginner games. But this isn't anyone's first rodeo so there's no particular need and besides, it gives mafia a slight advantage which they probably don't need.

I agree with Vector, There is no total newbie here. I have played two newbie games on mafiascum.net so I'm not that much newbie. I'm not sure about others (and I think that means Luckyowl :/ ).

I wouldn't let mafia keep posting in scum chat.

Even if they're trying to respect the rules, reading dead chat will influence them.

Especially if town PRs share their results in deadchat, yeah.
If this were a newbie game it would be one thing but I'm not sure this game really needs mentors.

Doubleposting to add, can I spoilspec this game? I'm probably not going to be able to be a replacement since I'm got a bunch of games lined up on another site.

Aight, y'all have persuaded me. I'll ditch the 'scum-post-after-death-in-mafia-chat-thing' altogether.

Yeah, sure. I think you'll be the only one, but I'll send you a fancy quicktopic link after the game starts. I don't think I'll just spoil everything there all at once, but whenever you ask a question I'll answer it completely honestly, so you can choose how much you want to know.

I'm finalizing the roles today so I can ship them out as soon as it's tomorrow. I think I've managed to create something interesting but not overly complex.

I've finished the roles, polished them, balanced them, and so on. When the clock strikes midnight, you will discover your role in this game of death. Good luck to all of you.
