So, how's it going?

At the time of writing, you're half way into your contract. Probably planning to renew, but who knows?

I don't really have any questions for Future Arx, so here's some random stuff:
At this point, I'm playing a lot of AoE2 and SC2. And active on the SS Harstem.
I've been gardening quite a bit, although the lemon tree, onions, and celery don't really like me.
I've got half an eye on some apartments, but no real plans right now.
Fencing has been hard to organise but in shape pretty well. Doing pretty well, but no tournaments at the moment.
Lots of fun anxiety and mild depression at the moment, too.

I can't remember what I wrote last year, but hopefully now that I've started back up on the Unsung Heroes project I've actually got something to show for it by this time next year.

It would also be really cool if I've written something worth publishing by then, but that's much more of a stretch goal that I doubt I'll make.

It would also also be pretty cool if I finished my CCNA certification after stopping studying halfway through, so let's try that while we're at it.

School going any better?

In some ways this year has been really bizarre. In other ways it feels pretty much the same as any other. Complete with usual familial and academic... stuff.

Forgive me for mentioning it. It hasn't exactly been a great day, so this is what's taking up real estate in my mind. Should probably delete it before posting, chances are I won't end up doing so. Might just edit it out later.

Granted, things could be a lot worse. I just... hope you feel better about everything. Or that you've gotten to a place where you can like yourself a little more. Small steps.

Ever end up running one of the games you're planning? Right now the plan is to start a thing in the next week or so. You know the one. I'm curious how that will work out.

What did you decide to major in? It's going to feel so weird to have an actual answer to that question.

Have you been remembering your dreams lately? Recall any of the ones I had last night? There should be something in the usual place, if you need a reminder. Two people talking simultaneously. We can make it a little experiment, it'll be interesting to see how much of that you retain.

How did 2021 compare to 2020? I know all the counting down is a bit facetious, but I can't help thinking that it's an imaginary distinction. That said, there's a vaccine now, so maybe circumstances will improve and 2020 actually will be the worst year ever. Let me know how it goes.

Hey, past me. The ADHD diagnosis has been delayed, again and again. Even though they put you on medication, due to a bureaucratic fuck up, you still aren't officially, medically diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. A date has finally been set though, you're getting looked at in March. Your medication is also getting changed, since the current medication has had no effect on you, besides increasing your heart rate. You still can't draw. But... you're getting there. Perhaps that's enough.

1. Try to keep writing. Remember how it feels to craft ideas into solidity.
2. Keep training martial arts stuff. With luck, you'll have a semi-decent amount of progression in your bone conditioning stuff by the time you read this, or have finally learnt that whole tai chi set, or something. Just keep having fun.
3. Try to be happy - if not for its own sake, because it lets you be more productive and not get stuck in whatever variety of thought spiral while trying to balance yourself. Maybe try therapy if your mood continues on the semi-monthly pattern you've been observing? Dunno, all I'm sure of is these built-in inefficiencies are getting irritating.
4. Hopefully the world hasn't turned into a nuclear wasteland, but if it has, remember that power is a perception, not an actuality.
