Name: Ben Torque

Character description.  Early 30s human male, medium height, wears a set of modern body armour, coloured gray.  The surface looks rough.  Wears a mask with complete face coverage.  Under the mask looks like a pretty plain vanilla human.

Has a home and kids, and intends to get back to them.

Equipment: Replicator Belt.  All consumable equipment carried is a magical reflection of a master copy back at home.  This means he never runs out of grenades, bombs, ammunition, etcetera.

Sharkskin suit, a modern kevlar full body suit covered with a very rough, spiky material to discorage grappling.  Includes boots and a gasmask.

Zap Beacons.  Electrified expandable poles, that ionize an area around them when deployed.  Contain a small gunpowder charge and a pointy hardened tungsten spike, which allows them to be placed in any location.  Ionize the air around them, zapping any particularly large or rapidly-moving object which passes through the field with repeated electrical shocks.  Recharge automatically, but can be temporarily depleted.

Tuned to zap those faster or larger than an ordinary person.

Shotgun.  A wholly conventional 12 gauge semiautomatic shotgun.  Loaded with flechettes.  Carries slugs in addition to the flechettes.

Grenades.  Come in stun, flash, and the normal explosive kind.

Slime grenades.  Contain a magic-absorbing slime, which draw in and contain modest amounts of magic until full.  Also slightly sticky and utterly gross.  Intended to dampen strange magical effects and weaken magic-users hit in the field.

1999 Honda Civic.  Transportation.  Inexplicitly invulnerable, yet useless in combat. (no ramming things with it, no driving over things, no taking cover behind it.  Just a flavor item except for trunkspace.

Handcuffs.  Boron-carbide model, intended to restrain the super-strong.

Abilities: Rummage.  Has any small non-combat tool readily at hand.  Lockpicks, wrenches, drill, wire cutters, air horn, it's all on that belt somewhere.

Trunk Hammerspace.  When heavier weapons or specialized tools are added to his arsenal, whichever one he wants is the one he happened to pack today, and it's there in his car trunk.

Basic martial arts.  Not an expert, but not completely defenseless.

Position: Mid-range.

The game and stats will be recorded throughout the whole google spreadsheet from that link, so we'll be using that google spreadsheet for convenience sake for the rest of the game.

Looking over the notes...

I was thinking more of a slime-type creature than a 'headcrab'. I'd imagine Phobia also having sort of a torso, and the tail would be at least as long as the rest of it is tall.
I am also imagining it being an orange-ish color. Probably should have mentioned something as basic as that on like the first sentence.

As for new host abilities, I specified that it would be different for each person though I will admit that I didn't include any examples; and figured I should leave that to the GM's discretion. Alternatively if it would make things easier I could make something up for each player character and willing NPC host that I come across. For the sake of game balance, these abilities should not be designed with specific tasks in mind. If someone is met and merged in the middle of a mission or something, then it would make more sense to either pick an ability from a pre-generated pool of generic abilities, or have the GM pick something instead.

As for speech, I didn't even think of that one. My first choice for this would be short-range telepathy as a mostly non-combat ability if that works.
