I recently had a champion soldier give birth, and continue to patrol, and then even go into combat against a siege with the baby in tow.  Now she patrols around the base carrying the baby with, and the baby constantly has a white question mark over its head as the mom completes her tour.

Not PG.  Definitely not.  Probably AO, as despite the ASCII graphics, it's more violent than say Grand Theft Auto...  Forums won't get ratings, because they're...  forums.

The only thing needed by DF to go mainsteam is 16x anti-aliasing and blur. People don't care how bad the game looks without it's shaders, as proven by Tiberium Wars and it's triangle barreled tanks with no animated tracks, no underside but the most resource heavy exhaust clouds ever.

And a bribe for the german rating team because they don't like violence. Americans will be fine, there aren't any tits.

Actually, GTA didn't get into trouble over violence.
They got in trouble over an utterly silly "adult themed" mini game which you could only activate by downloading and installing a mod, and the topic of which - phyiscal love - apparently is the sort of "red flag" to US censorship officials as excessive violence is to german censorship officials.

Happens a lot really - the assassination game Hitman got its Age 12 rating only after the developers agreed to cover up the breasts of the dancers in the bar room level. Blowing the victim's brains out was no problem, torso exposure was.

Funny thing, in germany it would be exactly the other way round. At the moment with our own school shootings germany is full-on on the "OMG ITS THE VIDEOGAMES/INTRARWEB"-Wave. The censorship got downright scary in the last months, but some local laws got already revoked, because they where downright unconstitutional.

Dwarf Fortress wouldn't fly with german officials, not in the least. It's a good thing they're downright retarded and would never acknowledge the existence of such an obscure title.
