Age of Ideas

It is an untime of endless potential. Time and space have little or no meaning as everything happens, and yet nothing truly does in this swirling primordial cauldron of transient Ideas. Grand Ideas. Simple Ideas. Concrete Ideas. Abstract Ideas. All these and more come together in a dizzyingly dialectic dance of ephemerality. A keen observer (if the act of observation can even be said to make sense at this point), however, may spot persistent, irrefutable Ideas in this roiling mess. Could they mean an end to this incomprehensible state? Can anything lasting come of them?

Core Idea: Near-equivalent to spheres in most god games, must be unique. Opposites of existing Core Ideas encouraged.
Orbit: 0-15 or random. Must be unique; collisions are resolved with dice, and no one wants that. Lower orbits increase priority when competing for Ideas but lead to faster Crystallization buildup. Alternatively, if most entries request random orbits, everyone will receive a special bonus and be placed in random orbits.

Greater Ideas can perform two actions every turn despite the lack of coherent time:

• Absorb: Absorb an Idea from the ambient Ideosphere. Where two Greater Ideas compete for the same Idea, the targeted Idea is given to low-Crystallization and low-Orbit Ideas in equal measure (with Orbit taking precedence in ties).
• Accrete: Strengthen an owned Idea by sacrificing another one. May fail and annihilate both Ideas if the sacrifice is too close to an inverse of the target Idea.
• Agree: Create a related target-owned Idea of your choice and an owned Idea of the target's choice. Both sides must have a sapient Idea, and both sides must sacrifice an Idea. This action must be accompanied by at least one line of dialog from both sides.
• Argue: Attempt to remove an Idea owned by another Greater Idea. Requires an owned sapient Idea and must be accompanied by at least one line of dialog. Modifiers: -Rebuttal from target, -High target Crystallization
• Ascend: Decrease Orbit by 1. Fails if a Greater Idea occupies the resulting Orbit.
• Compare: Select two owned Ideas to generate a related but random new Idea.
• Create/Destroy/Modify: Create, destroy, or modify something. Nothing interesting happens, strangely enough...
• Descend: Increase Orbit by 1. Fails if a Greater Idea occupies the resulting Orbit.
• Disavow: Disown an owned Idea.
• Dither: Create an entirely new owned Idea.
• Extrapolate: Attempt to generate a new Idea from an existing owned one. Modifiers: +Lower Crystallization.
• Fade: Default action. Greater Ideas fade to irrelevance over 3 turns, after which another Greater Idea may arise in their Orbit.
• Forget: Attempt to decrease Crystallization by sacrificing an Idea. The older the Idea or the closer to the Core Idea, the greater the resulting decrease. Recently acquired Ideas are unlikely to reduce Crystallization by more than 1-2.
• Copy: Attempt to weaken a target-owned Idea and create a weakened owned copy. Modifiers: +Higher Orbit.
• Refute: Attempt to destroy an unowned Idea. Modifiers: +Similar owned Idea, +High Orbit
• Resolve: Increase Crystallization progress.
• Retract: Attempt to invert an owned Idea. Modifiers: +Lower Crystallization, -High similarity to core Idea (if not core Idea).
• Synthesize: Sacrifice opposing owned Ideas to generate a stronger Idea not opposed to either. Result can be specified within reason.
• Teach: Weaken an owned Idea and create a target-owned also weakened copy. Modifiers: +Lower target Crystallization, -Higher Orbit
• Transcend: Currently swaps Orbits with a neighboring Greater Idea. Requires permission from the target.

A number of actions are unknown as of now. Some of them are even unique, whatever that word could possibly mean.

Crystallization: How set a Greater Idea has become. Beneficial for resisting changes but not conducive to growth.
Greater Idea: A very hungry Idea in the process of clearing its neighborhood. One of the PCs.
Idea: Sphere/resource. Most common attributes are strength and sapience.
Ideosphere: This primordial chaos.
Orbit: Approximately a measurement of Greater Idea divergence. Lower Orbits result in faster Crystallization but give higher priority when absorbing Ideas.
Sapience: An uncommon and highly prized property of some Ideas. Applied to resulting Idea(s) if its parent Idea is sacrificed or used as a template.

Seeing the lone weak yet sentient Idea that is Convergence, unlike any other, Unique decides that it must collect such a unique specimen as its own. As such it attempts to Absorb Convergence.

Per discord conversations with KJP, you're going to 100% fail at this because Luck is also absorbing convergence while being lower orbit and of equal crystallization, absorbing being deterministic unlike other actions that involve rolls. Thought you'd like to know so you could maybe use the action for something else if you wanted to.
