Unbelievable. First, she tries to steal this momentous occasion, then she expects  us to clean up for her own responsibilities.
Even in ordinary circumstances, this sort of behavior would be near intolerable to the Guild.
As it was, Tom had to move. If the Martians weren't enough to keep the dead away,  this was no safe place to lay his head.

Tom  idly tugs at the zombies closest to the Priestess, attempting to disrupt the Life that drives them, then rushes onwards towards the Leaden corpse. Alchemical oddity or not, it was the one that freed him.

Henric notes that something is probably happening around the priestess, and watches intently, in the hope of learning about magic, standing all the while at a safe distance.

Tiim
[Manipulation: 18]
[Determination + Situational Modifier (-2): 12]

Tiim stretches ou her arms, reaching out to connect with more corpses. At a certain point she find the process accelerating beyond her control, and with no formal spellwork to fall back on, she is left powerless as her head fills with wailing and screeching. Her body feels far too heavy and cold, before leaving her completely.

Shalva
[Strength + Weapon: Tail: 15]
There are quite a few advancing undead, so Shalva sets about tripping them and slowing them down. It actually proves quite hard for her to avoid hurting the zombies, as the lamia is quite large and strong and the zombies don't protect themselves or even seem to register her as a threat.
In the end she may have wound up smashing some chests in or knocking off some arms, especially with the fragile skeletons. Still, the undead advance, as more of the horde is pulled towards the living human.

[Determination: 10]

Shalva feel something approaching her, but has no time to react before it makes impact, knocking her senses clear away from her.

Bird
[Agility + Weapon: Bird: 9]
The bird circles a few times looking for a safe opening to attack before realizing that the snake isn't being attacked at all. Well, no point in fighting defensively if these guys aren't going to bother defending themselves.
It swoops down and beautifully puncture one zombie's brain, causing some rotten brain goo to dribble out. Though as the bird flies away, it notes that the corpse doesn't seem actually inconvenienced by this at all. It just keeps stumbling forwards.

[Determination: 13]

It can feel something icy-cold emanate from that girl and then fly right towards it, like a bad invisible spear. Well, the bird knows what to do when it's being attacked, and fights back with all its might, casting its own invisible claws to parry the attack.
The result kind of... melds together, and the bird can hear many humanlike voices wailing. It retaliates in some vague way, but is still pulled under.

Tom
[Manipulation + Druidcraft: 15]
Tom reaches out to a nearby skeleton and attempts to siphon a bit of its vitality to himself. Make them weaker, more likely to fold. This is considered to be one of the nastier techniques used by druids, but it's certainly effective.
What happens, though, is a bit odder. What Tom draws off isn't lean, flowing vitality, but a viscous chunk of something quite different. As soon as he pulls it away the skeleton collapses, and the glob of energy attracts itself into Tom's rippling vegetable chest.
It bolsters the vines, makes them stronger. But Tom doesn't feel more alive. Rather more the opposite.

[Determination: 14]

A moment later, Tom feels something similar to that glob appraoching him, but this time more directed, with vile and offensive intent. Strands of it come bouncing in from every direction, from the whole horde, but Tom can still see that that girl is at the center of it.
He sees that there's no real oppurtunity to avoid the invisible attack, so he simply braces for the impact and takes it. His body quickly fades away from him, but he remains focused and strides into the darkness.

Henric
[Determination + Situational Modifier (+2): 9]

That girl, Henric watches her... well, not really do anything. But rather he feels her do something, something which feels terrible and momentous.
The undead in a circle around her stop in their tracks, completely arrested. And then more and more, in a ripple around her, even causing the other revenants to freeze when it reaches them.
Henric has a moment to consider if he had really moved a safe distance away before it hits him; a writhing, terrible scream which pulls him under into the soil.

Oh Boy Everybody
As the darkness fades away, the revenants find themselves in a different place, and in various different states of being.

It's a clearing, or something resembling one. The ground is hard, cold glass which looks almost identical to a muddy ground, but feels completely different.
Around the edge of the area there's a solid wall of trees, or perhaps huge stone pillars in the shape of trees. There is no path through them, and they stretch into the sky too far to climb over.
As for the sky itself, it is a deep, dark blue, like the ugliest secret of the sea. It is also dominated by a massive, flaming moon.

Tiim is now a huge, pale queen. She is truly giant, bigger than any human could be, and is also emaciated, with her head resmbling a skull.

Shalva is a small, black snake. Some force draws her in towards the queen, threatening to subsume her into it.

Henric is a black rat, and likewise threatens to be swept up by Tiim.

Tom and the bird are much better off. The first takes the form of a powerful, if putrid living tree adorned with acidic fruit, while the other is a black-feathered dinosaur, standing on two huge muscular legs and with a huge jaw of sharp teeth which constantly leeches a deadly black gas.

Finally, the five revenants aren't alone here. A swarm of countless globs of black tar buzz together and conglomerate into a massive screaming black skull.
"MUST FEED US. WE ARE COLD, AND HUNGRY, AND ANGRY. HELP US! HELP US OR ELSE!"

Henric briefly examines himself, comes to terms with his new body, then runs to shelter among the roots of the rotting tree.

(("My character is an asshole" is not a good reason to be an asshole.  You could just not choose to play an asshole, or could choose to play one in an interesting way--as Egan ended up restructuring your action towards.  Casually attempting to steal other people's characters is never okay in an RP, as it's essentially trying to exclude other people from the game.  Don't do it.))

Seeing as Shalva is just a very small snake in this reality, she is going to flee away from the queen, and hopefully hide somewhere.  Perhaps there's a small crack in the trees that she could get into, or some other place to hide; it's worth a look, at least.

Tom felt the unlife upon him harden, then lengthen to a hard shell of dead wood.  Much as Life can never die, so too must its counterpart never live.

This Inversion...   At least the Heptarchy still held.   Still, though, he was different now. Moldering.  Tom needed to go back to his roots,  if not for himself, than for those that would shelter under his boughs.

âetan orgilde  ðone as betst s¯æd, swâðêah med−in cnôsl!  ofer¯æt, Fullan Faran ðrilîðe![/font]
"

In a strange land, it's best to fall back on tradition, and dig deep.

Tom attempts to cast Hospitality, a spell of homecoming, identity, and common ground. Traditionally used to bless meals or smooth tensions between strangers, it served as the House of Life's first  gift to the Heptarchy.  Still, Tom digs his roots in, and prepares to shoulder whatever  tries to breach his shell.

Bird
The gigantic black venomous dinosaur doesn't know many things, but it is curious. And so it considers its situation.
This place is a dense forest. Even if one were to smash through the walls, there would be more stone trees behind them, blocking egress.
The queen, on the other hand, is a dangerous opponent, but not outright deadly to touch. If the dinosaur were to attack, it at least would not be harmed by such.
As for the moon, it is an extremely angry body.

[Determination + Mind Over Matter: 13]
Massive black-feathered wings flicker into being attached to the dinosaur's shoulders. It's not even truly as if they were grown, they simply started existing when the bird put its mind to it. Though it feels slightly weaker now in other areas, having focused its strength towards the ability to fly.

Before it can set flight however, its attention is grabbed by the black skull striking the queen, hard.

Tom
[Manipulation + Druidcraft: 16]
The tree draws latent strands of this mindscape towards it, weaving out a neat welcoming aura. It is... ugly and profane, woven from energies nauseating the living, but to the undead it is a bastion of security.

The two small creatures run to shelter among Tom's roots. Meanwhile, The skull attacks the queen, landing a heavy hit.

Shalva
The snake breaks free of the queen's influence fairly simply, as the latter seems dumbfounded for the moment needed. The safest place seems to be that giant rotted tree. It seems very welcoming for whatever reason, so she slithers down among its sheltering roots.

In a warm, comfortable chamber carved into the glass beneath the tree, she meets the rat. He is clearly a comrade.

Henric
The rat likewise takes this opportunity to break away from the queen. The tree is obviously welcoming, but also obviously intentionally conjuring the image of being welcoming. Henric pauses a moment, pondering if this could be a trap, but concludes that the generosity is genuine. He also recognizes this being as being the same as the plant skeleton he had met earlier.

Scurrying beneath the tree, he finds a warm, welcoming chamber and is met by a little black snake. Henric believes that she is in a similar situation to his own. Perhaps they should work together?

Tiim
It would appear the Tiim is flummoxed. The queen, unable to react to this situation, loses whatever advantage she had in this mindscape, letting the two little souls scitter away from her.

The massive black skull, on the other hand, presses its attack hungrily.
[Its Determination: 16]
It strikes rapidly, spearing a pseudopod of inky black motes forth and smashing the queen. Were this a physical attack, it would surely have shattered bone, but as it is the effect is more ephemeral. Still, the queen takes a heavy hit and is weakened, sending chips of stone flying from the walls of the arena.

Mrush'shalva shivers, possibly out of fear, possibly simlly from being a small coldblooded reptile in a blasted mindscape.  She looks at the rat warily, and then around at her surroundings... but can discern nothing here of use.  She frowns with her tiny little snake mouth.

Cautiously crawl up to the rat, and curl up next to it.  At least Shalva's not alone here, aye?
