"Ahh!  What?  So cold..."  Shalva curls up more, trying to rub her bony shoulders, as if for heat.  "Mistress Fourteen... can you do anything?  Can you heal me?  Or help?  At all?  Please..."

Beg priestess for help.  Seductively?  I dunno, "I'm cold please help" almost sounds like a pickup line, and that +2 would be nice.

"The only assistance I can provide to the undead is to make the pain stop."
Fourteen conjures a helix of bright, writhing light at her palm. It is hot beyond heat, a fire which can only be felt as annihilation of the senses.
"...I can't feel what's wrong. What do you feel?"

Shalva shrinks away from the priestess, afraid of the numbing sensation.  "No!  Please, don't do that, it's... bad.  I just feel so cold, like snow!  And I'm getting colder!  Am I dying?  Again?" she says, sounding increasingly distraught.

Withdraw, that didn't quite go right, and it's hurting her.  Do see if any bits of snakelady got stuck, though.  Might be tasty.

Shalva
[Determination: 12]
The lamia feels something deep in her bones retract. For just a moment, all of the pressure dissipates, but then an icy deluge hits her dead on.

Shalva finds herself on the floor. Her eyes now open. Eyes! Actual eyes, not empty sockets, with eyelids and lashes. A face, cheeks, a tongue...
Dully her skin registers the cold of the night air. A black bird sits on her chest. It is warm, somehow.

Fourteen leans over just as the lamia processes that while she's more clothed now than before, she's still naked now.
"Well, that was illuminating. That bird is an interesting creature, to be sure. Can I do anything for you?"

Bird
The tendrils retract easily. The bird continues to monitor the lamia's soul. More inflammation. It would seem that in just a couple moments...

It flaps into the air as the skeleton collapses under it. Not inert or destroyed, metamorphizing.
The darkness within finally engulfs itself in a raging visible flame, black and cold. Rather than burning away the bones, it burns in new things. Blood, flesh, viscera appear in the flame, congealing and solidifying seemingly from the very soil itself.

The effect isn't quite the same as the creation of a living thing. She is still a corpse. Breathless, cold. But where there was once only bones there is now a whole, relatively undecayed corpse.
The crow decides to stand on top of her as the process ends, and she awakens. Her eyes are empty, those of a cadaver, yet they dart around like only those of a living thing can.

Level up
Influence + 1

New Skills:

Magical Theory +1
Navigating tunnels +1

Henric attends to the lecture on magical theory, again completely missing the bizarre arcane events happening just a few feet away in his absorption, leaning on the shovel.

He spends a while considering the diagrams on the ground, mulling over Tom's words. They certainly make sense. He doesn't really know what happened next, but makes a mental note to find out later.

"I see. Thank you. I guess I should start with elemental magic?"

Shalva stares at her hands, confused at them suddenly being hands, and not merely bone.  She sinks a little lower into her coils, now solid walls of scale and muscle.  She hugs herself with both her arms and the end of her tail, then she looks up at the priestess, still scared and confused.

"Uhm... someplace... warm.  I am still so cold..."

There is no waitlist. I choose who I want to play with, since I can't handle a large number of players and I'd rather have the best experience possible for myself.
To be honest, I didn't really like your character. I don't think that it's very likely that anyone else will quit the game or die before the game ends.
If I ever need new players, I'll change the thread title to try and attract new people, then admit whichever application I like best.

Go remember where I saw a city, then, because that's where the books are.  Now that snakelady is fixed, maybe she'll go with me.  Take off and try to attract the attention of the snakelady with caws.

Shalva
"You can stay inside of the House of Destruction for a while. Shelter for the weary..."
A bright white thread appears between Fourteen's fingers.
"If you decide to come inside, tie this around your wrist. It will probably sting a little, but it will protect you from the House itself. An undead entering the House of Mar would normally not enjoy the experince."

A bird circles above, cawing at Shalva as if to draw her attention. But she's still so cold...

Bird
There have been a few cities, but one of them is much bigger than the others. The bird has flown all around this area, and knows that it's pretty much a big peninsula, with the mainland up to the north. There are a lot more people traveling around the further north you go, and the big city is right where it meets the mainland. Perhaps there are even bigger cities further up north, then, but the bird has never been there. The vast majority of the places it's seen were relative backwaters like this.

It circles above the newly scaley snake-lady and screams at her to follow, but she seems sort of preoccupied.

Fiona
Finally, Fiona Lonecraft manages to claw a hole out of the ground and drag herself onto the surface.
...That took so long that she really should have died from lack of air. Or at least, it feels that way to her. Is her mind playing tricks on her?

Fiona is in a graveyard, what she recognises as the graveyard by the village she grew up in. Wasn't she in the capital? How did she end up back here?

She still wears the purple and red dress marking her as the countess of Veran, but it is decayed and dusty. Then some time has passed?
Also of note is the fact that there are a great number of corpses strewn about in various states of decay, as if someone had dug them all up and then just left them. An animate skeleton holding a shovel is talking to a creature seemingly made out of vines, while a strange creature which appears to be the upper half of a four-armed woman on top of a giant snake is speaking to a preistess of Mar in front of the Temple of Destruction. Fiona recognises the temple from her childhood, but doesn't know the particular preistess.

((Henric's levelup has been applied, but no turn for him as he seems to still just be talking with Tom.))

Wait around for the snakelady a bit, but if she's not coming, start heading off north on my own.  Keep an eye out for any local settlements.  And especially for something fresh and tasty.l

..Maybe even living and looks tasty.

Henric gathers a few dry sticks or branches, heaps them on the earth with a few stones around them, then attempts to ignite the campfire with elemental magic.
