Shalva
Shalva awakes quite suddenly... as if she just had a normal dream rather than a religious experience.
Reality is strange and plain compared to the dream. Compared to god.

"You're holding a skull. Whose is it?"
Fourteen is already up. She's standing straight and her expression is remarkably neutral.

She grabs a pinkish-white robe from a corner and... blasts a beam of pure white light through it, leaving a pair of holes in the sides, just underneath the sleeves. Having done this, she tosses it to Shalva.

Bird
Moldbin waits around a while as day breaks. Nothing proceeds to happen for some time, but eventually it spots a scared-looking woman coming from the town towards the temple. She stops at the sight of the bird waiting in front, reasonably apprehensive of a lone, unnaturally flaming crow.

Hmm. She would make fine fuel. All it would take is one flaming walker, and the rest of the town could easily be harvested.

Henric
Henric waits around for a while longer, not seeing anybody.

[Bolt: 13]
A crossbow bolt slams into Henric's skull from the side, bouncing off but not without a shower of bone fragments.
Mildly disoriented, Henric puts his hand up to the point of impact. The bone itself shattered, revealing a rough layer of soft metal underneath. While he does this, he looks down, seeing a splintered bolt with an iron head among a scattering of skull fragments.

Finally, he turns to look at the origin. A single young man, little more than a teenager, holding an unloaded crossbow. A small cudgel hangs around his belt, but rather than grab that or reload, he stands perfectly frozen in fear.

"Huh?  Oh, uhm, I don't know.  It was outside.  I wanted to give thanks to your god.  For helping save me."  Shalva pauses, looking down at the skull worriedly.  "And... for helping save Samsaa.  She was forgotten, without the Lamia."

The snake lady shakes her head, gently putting down the skull, then wearing the outfit Fourteen threw to her.  "So, will we go outside now?  Last night, you talked about wanting to dispose of the bodies.  How should we do that?"

Assist Fourteen however possible.  Listen to her commands, and presumably, follow her outside.

Being shot is a new experience for Henric. Then again, so is being a skeleton. Being a foot wider and two feet taller than one's contemporaries tends to inspire pacifism, so the idea that an ordinary human might try to kill him doesn't really take hold. Giant floating skulls and evil necromancers are exceptions to a well-established rule.

Henric leans his torch and shovel against the side of the town well. He picks up the bolt, and gently hands it back to the young man.

"I don't know what you were aiming at, but I think you missed. I could have a go with a stone, if it's still there."

If I harvest something, I'd much rather eat it myself.

Try to control myself for now, hopefully the friendly snakelady will come out and we can sort out this whole 'flaming thrall' thing.

..I'm too curious to pass on the opportunity, though, I'll regret forever if I don't try it at least once.  Is there a wooden post or barrel or cart wheel or something around, something a little more constructed than a stick, and at least as large as I am around? Something which is not the temple itself?  Let's see what happens when it's on fire and I try to eat the pieces.

Bird
The crow alights upon an old wooden grave marker. Which also alights.
Quickly, the entire post is wreathed in furous, white flames. And a moment later, it's gone, nothing left but hot ash.

Moldbin feels a sense of elation and satiation at the consumption, and a slight, controllable urge to burn more.

The unidentified woman, who had been hesiatant to approach the temple while a flaming avian husk was in front of it, siezes the oppurtunity and nervously moves up to the temple to knock. Before she can, though, Fourteen opens the door and walks out, with the Lamia following. The strange reptilian creature with a pale and graven, but recognisably human face elicits some fear from the townsperson, but Fourteen's presence helps smooth things over.

Henric
Henric sets his tools aside for a moment and leans over to pick up the bolt. As he does, the sudden motion causes the already-shattered bolt to fully break into two pieces, one with some bits of fletching, the other tipped with a steel spike. It seems like it is a decently well-crafted crossbow bolt. Or well, was.
While he's speaking to him, Henric looks back towards the boy who had fired the bolt, only to find that he's nowhere to be seen. How strange.

[Observation: 12]
Well, considering that someone had fired a crossbow at something and then fled with all haste, Henric concludes that there must be some sort of dangerous creature around, and thus begins a more thourough search, weapon at the ready. In the end, though, he finds nothing out of the ordanairy, and he's fairly certain that he looked around very well. How strange. Maybe it left or is invisible?

etc.
Some time passes, the sun fully coming over the horizon. Fourteen talks with the woman who came to see her for a little bit, and then walks to the town center, the townsperson and Shalva following her. And the bird follows Shalva.
There they find Henric, who greets Fourteen cheerfully, as though there weren't a fairly large portion of his skull missing. Fourteen is somewhat annoyed to find that he'd wandered into the middle of the village, but is diplomatic enough to convince him to follow her for the moment.

A large bell is rung, and the entire village is summoned to listen to Fourteen exhaustively explain that there's to present danger and that the skeleton, the snake, and the bird are by all appearances freindly. Though, less can be said about the bird, as it doesn't speak, and the flames it seems to have suddenly developed are... ominous.

That said, after hearing the full story of what transpired in the night and a good deal of nervous discussion, the townspeople conclude that if the Fell Lord were near, there would have already been a directed attack, and if the necromancer were smart enough to try sending talking zombies to infiltrate places, he probably would have done so centuries past, and furthermore wouldn't first do so in a backwater, worthless town.
As for the talking zombies themselves, nobody has any idea what they could be or why they exist. Indeed, the account of mindless, wandering zombies and skeletons also seems entirely strange, as these creatures are generally seen marching and attacking in a very orderly manner. The night's events seem as though they would be impossible according to all that anybody knows about the undead, but, well, they certainly did happen.

As for the graveyard, it would be quite bad to simply leave the place littered with unburied corpses, for various practical reasons. As such, an effort must be made to dispose of the bodies, of which there are many owing to the fact that the graveyard is very old and once belonged to city many times larger than the current settlement. For this reason, there's much more work to be done than there is manpower available to do said work.
To this point, Mistress Fourteen unsubtly implies that Shalva and Henric should help with moving the bodies to the pyre, seeing as they're in some way connected to the entire business.

"Oh!  I'll help!  This is very unusual, so many bodies, and all so old..."

Assist by hauling bodies to the bonfire.  Offer a small prayer to each of them, but don't do any true rites or anything.  Just a quick little well-wishing that Samraa will find a good use for their bodies.

Use a burst of fire as a warning, (NOT AT THEM) and spread my wings wide.  Caw loudly.

Then write down NO FIRE on the ground, as large as I can manage.

If they stop, add FIRE BAD, ON FIRE, PLEASE STOP

Shalva pauses to watch the bird's antics.  Then she slithers closer, leaning down to look at it.  Perhaps a bit closer than she should, considering the avian's heat.

"...Oh!  Of course, right away!"

Then she turns around, looking around for Fourteen.

"Fourteen!  Where can I get a bucket of water?  The bird wants to be put out!"

Henric begins hauling skeletons. Staying well away from the flaming bird. He leaves the black flame to it's own devices for a bit, nestling it in between some rocks.

Tentatively exploring the gaping hole in his cranium and the dented lead beneath, Henric determines that the centuries have not been kind to him. He resolves to seek repairs at the earliest opportunity.

If Henric spots a likely-looking skull in his hauling, he tucks it away discreetly inside his ribcage, as a backup.

Naturally, everybody seems pretty fucking wigged out by the bird making an explosion. Fourteen readies a spell which looks rather destructive.
The moment passes. An understanding that the bird's trying to communicate falls over the crowd.

Someone hands Shalva a large bucket of water.

[Determination: 19]

Moldbin flies up and then dives into the bucket, landing with an impact. In moments, the water boils away as a great puff of steam. The wooden bucket itself ignites with a fierce flame and splinters apart.
The sudden burst of steam flies up into Shalva's face, who was still holding the bucket. It scorches her face, leaving her skin badly burned. This doesn't hurt or indeed impair her at all.

"Caw!"

More water?  And this time try to consume it, as I did the fire, should I find any.

Moldbin distinctly feels as though further contact with water will be harmful to its health, and the only reason the bucket didn't hurt was because it's a lucky little shit.

...Nevertheless, Fourteen does confirm that there's a lake nearby.
