Day 1 BeginsDay 1 Badge SellerNight 1 Death Has Left The BuildingDay 2 Fixed The GlitchDay 2 Start The Year Out A HeadNight 2 Two Modkills And A WeldingThis is BYOR 15 (Bring Your Own Role). You can choose any role, picture, short story, Wikipedia page, molecule, idea, noun, dream, favorite color, star athlete, cosmological sign… You get the idea, I hope. As long as it has a short description, Wikipedia link, or video (preferably short), I don't mind. If there is no explanation, and I'm oblivious to the knowledge, you're in a bit of trouble, as I casually make things up out of a hat. I'll make up the action(s) to your role. No matter what your role, no action or alignment will ever be guaranteed.
This game will start some time after Bastard Paranormal 3 ends.Game Theme: Suspectators
Effect: The moderators and spectators may also send in a role for themselves. These roles will be revealed at the beginning of the game, and their potential effects explained then.
Effect: All Players, spectators, and moderators must send in a level of shenanigans from the list provided when they send in their roles. If no level is sent in, one will be chosen for you, at random. How to Join:
Send me a PM with your desired role. In addition, please choose a number for your preferred level of shenanigans:
0 - No shenanigansThese roles are exactly what they say on the tin. They're not fancy, they inspect, block, track. Maybe something nice as a one-shot. Completely at the mercy of all other players.
Sheriff of New Bark Town
You been here twenty years, and the first crime that’s been committed in that time is robbing the Professor? What’s wrong with kids these days!? Whelp, better get to it.
{P9} (Night) Inspect [target]: You take a look at the target’s Pokemon. You know those Team Rocket types always have Poison one. You learn the target’s alignment.
{P3} (1-Shot, Night) Pokemon Battle [target]: You used to be a top ranked Johto trainer. You show off your skills, blocking any player that performs a Mafiakill ability. If the target would be killed by any and all means, they are revived instead.
{P10} (1-Shot, Night, Free) Deputize [target]: You hand the target your spare Deputy Badge. Also, it comes with a Lvl 100 Arcanine, but that’s honestly not all that important. The target gets 2 additional votes during the next Day Phase.
1-3 - Light ShenanigansThese roles have a small amount of leeway to avoid other shenanigans.
Rocket-Powered Snowboard with a Cool Flaming Skull on the Bottom of it.
Gnarly! I finally got one after the 5 background checks and that $100,000 donation to the city council!
(Auto) Woogity: You show the secret signal only people who are in the know will recognize. Actions by players of your same alignment cannot negatively interrupt your action, role, or life.
(2-Shot, Day, Free) Show-Off: Do some sweet tricks in front of everyone. They let you have an additional vote for the rest of the Day.
{P2} (Night) Block-It Power [target]: Spin circles around other people, leaving a trail of fine powder and ash in your wake, and blocking the target.
{P0/PT} (Night) 1080 Degree Fahrenheit Reversal [target]: Right back at ya! You totally copy any and all actions that target you and perform them on the target.
Ancient Basilisk Cutting Bullet!
This secret technique was passed down from master to disciple for the last thousand years. It has a will of its own, a legacy to protect.
(Auto) Piercing Attack: Your actions are always made at Priority -1, and happen before all other actions, regardless of their normal Priority.
{P7} (Mafiakill) Statue Toppling [target]: Secret Technique that smashes your target into pieces. Kill the target. Abilities that Revive the target fail.
{P3} (Night) Stoneskin [target]: Use an ancient technique to temporarily paralyze. Block the target.
4-6 - Medium ShenanigansThese roles can screw with investigative roles, or just other players in general.
Thanksgiving Themed DLC
$4.99. Comes with baster weapon skin, turkey hat skin, cooked meal death animation, stuffing particle effects, and over twelve more cosmetic items!
(Auto) Mashed Potatoes: Role and action results against act as though you had the Mashed Potatoes role.
{P4} (Night) Thanks [target]: Your target must thank you. Your target will aim their action at you.
(Day) Battle Pass [target]: The only way to unlock more themed skins is to buy this for $19.99! Your target’s actions are delayed one Phase to do so.
{P6} (1-Shot) Glorified Pre-Christmas: Choose any three players. They must give you one of their abilities and be thankful about it. They lose the game.
(Information/Role) Mashed Potatoes
If I had only asked for gravy…
(Auto) Just Gravy: If you are the target of a kill and survive, remove Unusable from What’s Tators.
{P5} (Night) More Like... No-Tatoes [target/self]: Protect the target or yourself from one kill until the end of the following Night. You are informed if a kill hits any target.
{P0} (Unusable) What’s Tators [targetx3]: Boil ‘em, mash ‘em, stick ‘em in a stew. Kill the targets. Remove this ability from any and all players forever.
Corrupt Politician
Any clever jokes about repetition makes you a bigger target.
(Auto) Election Fraud: Oh, look. A nice loophole in subsection 102b. Whenever you gain votes, you gain twice as many votes instead.
{P6} (Night) Disenfranchise [target]: Redistrict them out of here. Steal the target’s vote until the end of the next Day.
(1-Shot, Day) Depose [target]: Power is power. If at any time, you control no votes or are unable to vote, kill a target that can.
7-9 - Heavy ShenanigansYour role will cause significant headaches for other players. But, honestly, they deserved it.
Rin Tezuka
It’s gonna be hard to win this game without any arms, isn’t it? Maybe, but then I guess it also makes you completely ‘armless. Heh.
(Auto) Unarmed: You cannot use actions. You know, because of the arm thing. Well, I guess because of the opposite of that, really. Additionally, you are able to enable or disable any Auto abilities you have.
(Auto) Artist Rendition: That action looks really cool, and you need to paint it. Whenever you are targeted by an action, you gain an Auto ability related to that action.
(Auto) Lost In Thought: You thoroughly lose someone else in your own thoughts. Players that you voted must target you or themselves until the next Day Phase.
Invincible Vigilante
Nice try, guy. Just kidding, here's your role for real this time.
(Auto) “Invincible”: You are immune to all kills. If you would be killed, you are instead removed from the game until the end of the next Night, and gain Existential Vacation. This does not prevent lynches.
{P7} (Night) Kill From The Ether [target]: You kill the target. You may only use this while on Existential Vacation.
(Information) Existential Vacation: You cannot be harmed on the Ethereal Plane, young one. But, your years of practice have not shown that the reverse is not true. You cannot be the target of any abilities, nor can you use actions of your own other than Kill From The Ether.
10 - Gravity Well ShenanigansYour role causes game rules to stop functioning correctly. It doesn’t completely stop the game from working, but could potentially throw the balance against the wall if the role owner could know more than they already do.
Bulwark’s Ambry
Armor up, warrior. A legion of monsters await you, hehehe...
(Auto) Artifact Of Command: There is no randomness in the universe. Abilities that are chosen randomly can ALWAYS be selected by you.
(Auto) Artifact Of Chaos: What even is caution? Two players can be lynched each Day. The second lynch target must be within 1 vote of the total final. If two or more players fall in that range, the second lynch target is chosen randomly.
{P10} (Night) Artifact Of Kin: There is only one. Randomly target another player. This player is given this ability. If all living players have this ability, one random player is selected from them to win the game. They do not leave the game and can still use abilities and vote.
{P7} (1-Shot) Artifact Of Death: Randomly select another player. Both you and that player die.
Mamobo
:O Mamobo can really play?!?
(Auto) Blueberries: While you are alive, a new voting method exists. Players may choose to vote in blue to give another player a vote. The player with plurality vote has their vote count for two. If you ever win the vote, this bonus is permanent.
{P1} (Night) Forbidden Blood Ritual: Mamobo has secrets, too. This action does not count towards your action limit. If you are killed, you revive for one additional Cycle and Encourage loses Unusable.
{P8} (Night) Reprogram [target]: Mamobo learned new tricks! Set the target to {FRIENDLY_FIRE_ONLY} or {AIMBOT_ENABLED} mode.
{P10} (Unusable, 1-Shot) Encourage [target]: Mamobo thinks you can do it! Give the target an extra vote permanently.
(Information) {FRIENDLY_FIRE_ONLY}: Players affected by this have their vote(s) counted only if they vote a player of their own alignment.
(Information) {AIMBOT_ENABLED}: Players affected by this have their vote(s) counted only if they vote a player not of their own alignment.
11 - Shakeragian ShenanigansYour role causes game mechanics to stop functioning correctly. This one causes absolutely unknowable games, are completely and utterly unbalanced, and are probably what 50% of players are gonna pick anyway, you monsters.
Space-Time Discontinuum
Something funny is going on here. And you’re not in the mood for funny business. That’s because you don’t make mistakes. You fix them.
(Auto) Fourth Dimensional: You cannot unvote. Your vote can be placed in the past or future. When you vote, you may specify what Day your vote goes to.
{P7} (Mafiakill) Fix [target]: Reveal your role and actions. Kill the target. All past, present, and future votes made by or used on the target are removed. Lynches are recalculated based on these new vote counts.
A Waffle Iron With A Blood Price
Forged through sacrifices. Gorged through sacrifices.
(Auto) Consume: Any player that dies is consumed, granting you a stack of Blood Price. Their role is not flipped when they die. When you die, reveal all Consumed players. You may always choose to reveal a corpse at the cost of a Blood Price. Whenever you use an Action, you use a stack of Blood Price.
(Auto) Charon’s Favor: When a player with any number of Waffles dies, you may choose a new player to give each Waffle to.
{P6} (Night) Blood And Waffle Iron: Food at a steep cost. Choose a player to give a Waffle to. As this does not aim at a target, this cannot be randomized or redirected. Only a player with Blood Price may use this Action.
(Information) Blood Price: All things come with a cost. You cannot use any actions unless you Consume a corpse.
(Information) Waffle: During each Night Phase, for each Waffle you have, pick one of the following that hasn’t already been picked by you yet:
1 - Lose one Action/Phase until the next Night Phase.
2 - Give an Ability to A Waffle Iron With A Blood Price.
3 - Lose one vote until the next Night Phase.
4 - Reveal your Action and Target to A Waffle Iron With A Blood Price.
5 - Die.
6 - Nothing.
- No PMing to anyone but me, the mod. I won't make this an action either because PMing is stupid.
- No Quoting of the Mod in relation to PMs. You are free to quote anything in the thread. You may paraphrase your PM, but if you break this rule, you will be penalized in ways you won't like.
- Semi-hammers in effect. Days last on a soft 72 hours, unless a majority is voting for any player or No Lynch. If a player is hammered, there is to be no more talking. If you accidentally post something after the hammer, you can and should edit out the post.
- Official Votecounts will be posted once every 24 hours. Spamming Votecount will not get you an additional one because I won't be here at that time.
- Nights last 24 hours or whenever all the actions are sent in. If you do not wish to action, please send a PM stating so. If you do not PM me the first Night, I will auto-!none every Night afterward until I receive a PM.
- Weekends count for 24 hours, as I enjoy my free time on them.
- RULE CHANGE: There are no Extensions allowed.
- There may be Post Restrictions. These should not interfere with gameplay.
- I cannot answer questions about a player's role unless that player's role is available to be seen (e.g. Roleflips.) I cannot answer questions about your role in thread. I can, however, answer generic questions. I will simply ask you to rephrase the question, if I deem the question is bad.
You are not in the game until I receive a role. Also, don't under- or overestimate your abilities. And have fun! Because, honestly, that's the whole point.
Also, for those without knowledge of how I style roles, here's a little cheat sheet! If you ask me one of these questions, I will not answer it.
Common questions:
Q. What is a Cycle/Phase?
A. A Cycle is a Day and Night Phase. There are two Phases in a Cycle.
Q. Can I use more than one ability during a Phase?
A. Not unless your role specifically states as such.
Q. Can I self-target?
A. Not unless the action specifically states that you can. It is now labelled [target/self] or [self] for easy viewing!
Q. Can I target 2 or more people?
A. Only if stated in the action with [target x(some number)].
Q. If my action doesn't have a Phase to be used in, can I use it any time?
A. Yes!
Q. Can I Mafiakill and use an ability on the same Night?
A. This counts as using two abilities, so not unless you are allowed to use two abilities.
Stealing the
Natural Action Resolution. It appears to do the actions fairly well, so I'll snag it.
Just as a courtesy, here's a good list of night action priorities
Priority 0 - Copy
Priority 1 - Hide
Priority 2 - Bus
Priority 3 - Block
Priority 4 - Redirect
Priority 5 - Protect
Priority 6 - Fast Miscellaneous
Priority 7 - Kill
Priority 8 - Recruit
Priority 9 - Inspect
Priority 10 - Slow Miscellaneous
Triggered - Reactive
ADDENDUM: I will now be placing a priority order on your Night actions. These should now be listed as P{0-10}, with Priority 0 being the fastest, and Priority 10 being the slowest. They should roughly line up with the actions above, but exceptions might be made. Triggered abilities are actions that trigger on the action resolution step that activates the ability.
ADDENDUM: If a player is not a viable target at the time they are actioned, the action fails. Players will be notified of this failure. Any limited shots will be refunded if an action is blocked or fails.
Quick Q & A for alignments:
Q. Does the Mafia have a kill they can use at Night?
A. Yes. It is called the Mafiakill. It is available to all members of the Mafia unless otherwise stated.
Q. Does the SK/Cult have a built-in kill/convert?
A. No. No other alignment besides Mafia has any group/alignment ability available to them.
You are given one of these 13 alignments when the game starts. Usually, it will be Town, but you might be lucky!
