Valen speaks. "What that was, was a deliberate attempt at your life by something. Or someone. I doubt those slimes would have travelled far with those explosions primed, so the culprit shouldn't be far!"

Scribe shakes his head. A strange gleam enters his eyes. "No, it was not a particular target on us. It was a strike on the city as a whole. For what gain one can only wonder. It seems to have been easily quelled. Perhaps something will be revealed to have disappeared in this chaos."

"I'm afraid your instincts are correct. I'm also afraid you have already seen what has disappeared."

Civilians have begun cautiously returning to the street. One of which is the young woman from earlier. Her hands are clasped together above her amulet as she walks toward the trio of heroes.

"Those sounds...they where explosives? You say the Slimes had them? If that is the case, this city is in grave danger. This must mean they have managed to break into the naval armory. It is very likely that a majority of this island's heavy weaponry has been disabled in this attack.

She stops for a moment. Her hands than move to her dress as she performs a curtsy.

"But first let me offer my gratitude. My name is Sola. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for saving this city. I am truly grateful. I am sure this sentiment is shared by everyone, but it seems human nature prioritizes insuring the safety of themselves and their loved ones before celebrating heroes.

The scribe stares through dimensions at the companions.
"Now I'm hardly a necromancer, so I'd rather this story not die. Would you?" He gravely states.

Valen does not appear to have anything to say at this particular minute.

(to sola)"Many thanks. I only did what I believed was right."

She ends her curtsy and puts her arms behind her back.

"You have nothing to thank me for. Despite my mission I was of no assistance. This is the most I can offer in return..."

Her hands one again clasp her glowing amulet. A warm light envelopes The Scribe as he is healed to full health!

"I won't waste any more of your time. I know not why you have come to this land, but I urge you to leave in haste. It is a matter of days before the main force arrives."

"The monsters are coming and you want me to run? Hahahahahaha, no. I bet if we can get some groups of adventurers together we could wear the army down, or at least, I think this city will need all the help it can get, so I'm not leaving."

"Your bravery is admirable. I do not doubt heroes of your caliber would be capable of dealing with such an army. With his minions scattered across the seas, his forces are certainly the easiest to deal with..."

Sola puts her arms behind her back once more, a sadness entering her eyes as she gazes beyond the quick-fixed remains of the sea wall in the distance.

"But I can feel it. He is coming. A Lord of the Night. With their ships and anti-ship weapons this nation may have had a chance...but without them...how can we possibly fight him off?"

"We know he's coming don't we? And yet he is not here. And thus we have an edge. Time. Time to prepare, time to evacuate, time to rearm and grow strong enough to face this Lord of the Night. Tell me, do you know more than just that he is coming? Can you tell us of his strength or when he'll arrive? If you can, we may have yet another edge over this foe. We may yet defeat him."
Ralik bangs his staff on the ground. "I will stand and fight, nay, since we have the Initiative, I shall take any who are willing to aid me and go on the offensive. There must be something we can do to weigh the odds in our favor, perhaps many things. I say, we go forth and weigh the dice with our actions."

Sola thinks for a moment before once again clasping her amulet.

"I know his approximate location at all times. As I warned he will be here with the main force in a matter of days. A week at most. It is likely that smaller raids will continue to crash against the islands' defenses, but I can not say when or where as I am now. As for his strength...the energy density is very low considering his position, but the amount of it is very high. He will have no trouble destroying the town alone if he arrives. Is any of that helpful?"

Valen speaks. "So you say that you can tell where this 'Lord of the Night' is at all times. I'm going to need more than a vague feeling before I act on this kind of intel you know. I take it you have the evidence to back up these claims?"

Hands still clasped over her amulet, her face once again contorts in thought.

"Given his size you will likely be able to see him from leagues off, well outside his range of engagement. From what I can sense he is likely the size of...a small city at least. Perhaps much larger if the energy surrounding him is a part of his body and not simply his minions. He has been traveling on the surface of the water for increased speed. If you where willing to brave his servants you would likely be able to get visual evidence. In a day or two he will be close enough to cover the news even if nobody attempts to scout for him. I can attempt to give you more if you wish for a specific piece of evidence. I'll try my best to help any way I can!"

"No need, I too can feel something coming nearer as well. We should leave, attempt to undermine this Dark Knight-seeming fellow's strength before a direct confrontation."

Sola looks like she just remembered something and looked at the sun like someone checking a clock.

"It seems that our path forward is clouded for now. Whatever our choice I must explain the situation to the local forces before we run out of time. I will return to this park at Sunset, if you haven't taken my advice and still wish to assist me we can reconvene then. Farrell for now!"

She gives another quick curtsy before running off deeper into the Island.

Where would you like to go in the meantime?

----Saint Ark's Port----
Saint Ark's Armory: A small store featuring weapons and armor meant for visiting adventurers heading heading off to or coming back from Forsaken Island.
Saint Ark's Casinos: From Ritzy golden palaces to sketchy holes in the wall, Saint Arks has a wide variety of casinos catering to all walks of life. Good place to bet money or meet locals.
Docks: Stations for both water and aircraft. Go here to visit the other island or buy a ticket to go away from the island chain.
Guard Post: A police-station like building that the guards operate from. Good place to go to take on side-quests.
City Hall: The seat of government for the Island. Not much to do there but probably where Sola ran off to.
Island Bounty General Store: A store that buys sells a variety of goods. Pastes its palm-tree logo throughout the store.
The Sand Bar: A tavern targeting sailors and travelers. Usually those looking for a cheep room and some cheep booze. Good place to rest if you don't mind noise.
Saint Ark's Mission: An old Cathedral built up from the original settlement. Contains the local library and is open to the general public.
Other: Its a relatively big city, you can probably find the standard set of buildings outside this list.
