Re: Bastard Paranormal 3 - Hunt Phase 2
Ooooooooooh interesting. Let's take the mining pod back to recharge and then head back on foot.
Would it be impatient of me to prod you for the results of this?
That's fine. Been bouncing between things today and just haven't gotten around to it.
It takes a while to do this, I should note, so you won't be able to do much more during this phase.
Anyway,
You make your way through the asteroid to the large structure you noticed earlier. Getting close to it, it seems to be a mobile hanger station.
Often used by local police forces and exploration companies, these hangers lack a lot of the facilities and mobility that a proper carrier would have but are considerably cheaper. This one is large enough to hold quite a few ships.
For security it has a couple of small weapon emplacements on it, and you can see a few armed guards moving around the area. You cannot see inside the hanger itself, of course. You can safely assume there are quite a few camera and other detection systems on it.

Oh.
Well.
Did they notice me when I was flying around in the mining pod earlier?
I want to spend some time surveilling the hangar station to get a sense of the amount of manpower, automated defenses, cameras, etc. that's guarding it.

You don't see anything that indicates they know where you are.
If you stick around for a while to watch stuff you'll basically be done for the phase. You won't return until shortly before the Hunt phase (enough time to resupply your suit, but that's about it).
Are you cool with that?
Re: Bastard Paranormal 3 - Hunt Phase 2
Are you cool with that?
Yeah, I think so.
Re: Bastard Paranormal 3 - Hunt Phase 2
Are you cool with that?
Yeah, I think so.
All right.
You stake out the hanger for a while and use your considerable experience as a bounty hunter to get a handle on what is there.
Looks like ship-wise they're pretty light. You only ever see a pair of security fighters go in or out at a time, and they look like they're doing fairly simple paired patrols. Maybe only a few pairs active at any time at most. Not too bad, given the distances involved. If you time things right, chances are there would be a long lag time between getting noticed and any fighters getting back in time to do anything.
Armed patrols are similar. You don't see all that many of them at once. Looks like they're not really expecting trouble, more there 'just in case'. They seem to do occasional sweeps of the area and then return to the hanger. Maybe 10 guards or so at most inside based on the numbers and timing you see for the sweeps.
The weapons systems are similarly light, and more anti-craft than anti-infantry. Your mining pod would get wrecked by them, but it's unlikely that a quickly moving person would be hit.
Cameras are a bigger deal. You see quite a few spots that look like they have cameras, and those have a pretty solid coverage. Very small chance of coming in undetected unless you can find a way to deal with those.
Then of course you have to actually get inside. You can safely assume that the few external hatches are closely monitored.

Sure, that was discussed previously. And it makes sense that you'd do that as part of your reconnaissance.

Yeah. Pretty much, if your modern smart phone can do it, your communicator can probably do it. (better)

Okay.
Let's send the hangar station intel to all the remaining players then.
Re: Bastard Paranormal 3 - Hanger Intel
You get a message from Jim Groovester containing surveillance info about the large hanger he discovered on the other side of the asteroid. It includes notes, pictures, and some videos. (What follows is my synopsis of the information)

Is there any indication that the hangar station is connected to the main mining station at all? Are any functions shared between the two?
If we get access to the command and control room, does that also give us access to the hangar station?

Hello everyone. I think it's time that I finally revealed what I've been working on. To put it simply, I've been trying to hire a bounty hunter to rescue us.
Unfortunately, they turned out to be a lazy SOB who only wants to airlift us of out of the hangar after we do finished doing the actual hardwork of taking over the base. I thought I was hiring a bounty hunter, but instead I got taxi.
Anyway, that's all. If we need an overpriced taxi, we can give him a call, but I think we have everything it takes to get out of here on our own.
There is a question I want to ask the spirits though.
"Is there a ship in there big enough to rescue all 6 of us?"

Minor correction, it turns out they'd be willing to pick us up directly from the shuttle bay. She recommends that we provide them with some method of tracking the two fighters though (or we could just blow them up).

The final fee, factoring in the intel discount is going to be 4500 KOR. Tell me what you think of all of this. It will at least resolve the logistical hurdle of spacesuit micromanagment. I still think it might be a little overpriced though.

Not that you can see, at least from the angles you've got. At least not any physical connections.
You do not know.

There is an access hatch on the upper side of the station that the patrols use to get in and out. You can't tell from here what protections that hatch has since you can't see it directly. But you do see them go in and out of the same spot on the hanger each time.
Fairly standard armaments. Looks like body armor, personal shield, and combat plasma rifles. Maybe some other goodies, like grenades, but it's hard to see for sure.
Re: Bastard Paranormal 3 - Truce Phase 3
The droids were collecting items inside. I found three items:
Plasma Bomb
Assassin Bot
Arcrin Mining Corp branded Communicator
The plasma bomb and assassin bot might be what 4maskwolf and Juicebox had, the fact nobody is admitting it yet makes me think the maintenance droids got to them first. As for the communicator, no idea why they would have that.
I think we could use the communicator for something, the plasma bomb and assassin bot could be useful for the mutiny.
There was a release handle on the inside so I was able to leave immediately. If I can buy at the vendor still I think I should make a space suit from a replicator.

It might be what juicebox had since 4maskwolf gave everything he had to webadict and I got to webadict first.
See if the communicator gets you access in the command and control room. If it's branded by the mining company my guess would be it belongs to former staff and might have credentials for staff access there.

Ok, that'll be the last actual action you can take this phase. Using the Replicator takes time, so that'll have to be the first thing you do in the Hunt Phase action set if you want to use any of the items you make.
