You are a chef in some kind of zombie apocalypse. You are alone in a small evacuation shelter with a women; Samantha "Quotes" Lincoln. She is wearing a flotation vest underneath a trenchcoat, leather pants, gloves, a dust mask, a scarf, a backpack, a holster, a tool belt, a watch and a good ring. She is uneasy with me but glad I'm here.
"I was thinking about you yesterday when I thought up this dish. It's called the ‘Chili Dog' and it tastes like heaven!"
> You say "I don't give a fuck Samantha! The world's ending!"
Samantha looks at you for a moment as if she has been expecting that response all along.
"What? What do you mean?"
> You say "What do you mean what do i mean?"
"I mean, what do you mean when you say the world's ending? Is the sky cracking? Rivers of blood? What exactly is happening here?"
> You say "Fucking zombies and all kinds of other bullshit from what i've heard."
Sam looks at you with genuine surprise. "What? This isn't the zombie apolcalypse your talking about is it?"
> You say "Wait wait wait. Why did you come to this evac shelter?"
Samantha gets a pained look on her face and explains;
"I had to come here to get my sister, she's infected with..."
Samantha stops and her eyes narrow.
"You're joking right?"
> You say "I'm fucking not. Didn't you notice strange things this week?"
She takes off her gas mask and throws it to the ground.
"Strange things like what, someone saying 'good morning'? This is a joke and I'm not laughing. Put some humor into your last moments of life why don't you."
> You say "Goddamnit. I'll prove it. Follow me into town."
"Fine, whatever. I hope you know what you're doing. I'm not waiting here by myself."
We walk down the road until we see a zombie. It's wearing what looks like the remnants of a business suit and is missing most of its skin.
"There, you see that?" you point at the zombie.
"Yeah, I see it."
> You say "You believe me now?"
"I don't know what to believe. That thing could be a refugee from a concentration camp for all I know."
"So you belive me a little then?"
"I don't know."
> You say "That's not good enough! We need a fucking plan!"
"Alright! Alright! No need to yell. Just take it easy for a second."
You take a deep breath and calm yourself down.
> You say "I don't know this area. Neither do you right?"
"True, but..."
> You say "But what?"
"There's a river that runs through the town. It's a good way of getting around without having to walk on the roads."
"Let's go then."
> You say "No there isn't. Your thinking of the wrong town."
"Yes there is! It goes through the center. There used to be a park over it and a bike trail."
"That's not our town, that's Greenfield. You're thinking about the wrong town."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm sure, I got lost in the town."
"Oh, well then let's go to Greenfield then."
> You say "Who knows how the roads between there and here are. And neither of us have cars."
"I got a phone in my pocket. We can use that to look up directions."
"Fine then, let's go."
She takes out the phone only for it to turn off 5 seconds after startup.
"What the hell? It needs 6 hours to charge."
> You say "Well that's off the menu best as i can tell."
"Of course it is. Of course it is."
> You say "We need weapons and a vehicle. I don't really want to risk the town for them, shit was wild last i checked and i think everyone who could leave has."
"I wanted to leave too, remember? So where do you suggest we go?"
> You "Look..." you draw a map in the dirt with a stick. "Here's everywhere i know in the town. Houses, a hospital, a electronic store, a private park, a garage, a recycle center, a fitness gym, a pool, and a railroad station. Oh shit, there are farm fields to the southeast." you consider the map for a few moments. "The fields look like our least bad option."
"Why? What's there?"
> You say "There might be a farm and it would have fewer zombies."
"So you think a farm might be less likely to have been looted?"
> You say "When you put it like that..."
"I'm serious."
"So was I. I think you're right, it's probably been looted."
"Well then. It's settled, we're going to the fields."
You and Sam begin the long walk out of town, sticking to the back roads as much as you can.
> You say "I'm just going to pick up a couple of things from the evac shelter."
"We don't have time for that."
"It'll just be a quick stop, I'll be fast."
"We're already walking slow, and you want to take time to go into a building?"
> You say "It might have good stuff! It's a evac shelter."
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean anything. People just left it and never came back."
> You say "It's equipped with supplies and it seems like not many people have used it."
"So?"
"So it might still have some good stuff! Come on, it'll only take a few minutes. I promise."
"Fine."
> You suddenly notice the graphitti in the evac shelter in the light of the day. you point out what they say to Samantha; "THERE'S NO RESCUE BUS", "Mr Foote is a Vampire!" "They're not coming to help, they're coming to clean up"
"What... What does it mean?"
> You say "Nothing good"
You and Sam carry on in silence.
> You find a few unimpressive bits and pieces, and having taken everything that isn't nailed down you give it to Samantha. "We may need to improvise, so don't look at me like that. You have the backpack."
"Do you even know what any of this is?"
"Not really."
"Then why did you get it?"
> You say "Firewood and spearheads, that kind of thing."
You and Sam make it to the fields without further incident. We come to a boarded up farmhouse.
"This looks a lot more promising."
We find some food and a few clothes. In the letterbox there are a few books and a survivors note "Don't shoot the one who get bit! It's ok! Death is the only thing that makes you turn!" I share it with Samantha.
"We have to go back. The army are close by, and a rescue center was set up in the stadium, right?"
> You say "I think the army should have turned up a long time ago."
"You're not reassuring me, you know."
> You say "I'm sorry Samantha. Your family, they got out of here right?"
"Yes", she sniffles. "They got out before the first reports were even confirmed."
> You say "Good."
Sam reads the note. "That's the same thing that was on the wall of the evac shelter."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, that and 'Mr Foote is a vampire'."
> You say "Same writing?"
"Yeah. Do you know what any of it means?"
You shake your head.
> You say "We'll have to come back with more bags, there's a zombie"
"A zombie?" she asks. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah"
> You say "Where should we go next?"
You and Sam decide to leave the farmhouse.
"We need to make it to a rescue center, or at least the rescue centers staging ground."
> You say "First we need a car and weapons."
