I think we might also want one more revision to our base rifle, giving it detachable magazines in 5 or 10 round sizes and upgrading the sights. hopefully the changes can go on the marksman too.

It is now 1913. You have 16 credits to spend, meaning you can only afford a revision of your Short Rifle. You have two assembly lines ready to go with no contracts, so you might consider plans to secure two contracts this turn if you can. The survival rifle contract is probably in the bag unless Fabrique Riviere decides to stop manufacturing machine guns just to compete, so you might think about how to win the bicycle infantry contract, which Behrens might compete on. Alternatively, you could stretch a revision and try to make an automatic rifle without making an entirely new design, though this is unlikely to be competitive against a purpose-made gun.

This is a SR-6-11 updated with detachable box magazines(that still accept stripper clips, mind, that is bolt into the action, not the magazine) in 5 or 10 round sizes, updated aperture sights, and a folding stock so that it can be much smaller. Effort is also made to overall improve the design of the rifle, particularly from the standpoint of manufacturing, and all these cahnges(save the folding stock) are also applied to the SR-6-11 and the SR/M-6-12.

The final form of the veritable Prykanbul short rifle, this model is improved for manufacturing and cost, but still comes with two updated features: The inclusion of improved aperture sights and the ability to receive detachable 5 or 10 round box magazines(which, as a note, can still accept stripper clips, as the hardware for clip loading in part of the action of the rifle). Must of the efforts gone into this rifle are also retroactively applied to the SR/M-6-12.

I dont think we need to do a revision particularly, but if we do, I want one that gets us ahead in general, not just "hurr, we added a hinge and two latches"

So it's a shame to not use a free action.  Developing a cartridge in advance will save us the double-action penalty from trying to squeeze it in to the same round as the weapon design.

We need other calibers if we're going to do something other than service rifles.  Although handguns/pistols have had terrible margins so far, it would be nice to have something 9mm or .45 ACP-like to build SMG's around.  Similarly, our 6mm rifle round is great for lighter systems, but we could really use something larger for those heavy crew served weapons and future AMR's...

Cartridge: 12mm Prykanbul Machine Gun (12mm PMG)

Featuring over three times the muzzle energy of most rifle rounds, 12mm PMG pushes the limits of what Prykanbul steel weapons can harness.  Such a large projectile inherently possesses a superior ballistic coefficient, making nearly any 12mm PMG platform capable of reliably engaging targets at ranges of 1km and beyond.  Additionally, the raw kinetic energy easily penetrates many forms of practical cover, and for civilian applications, can kill large game such as polar bears, moose, tigers, and elephants in a single round.
Technically specified, an aerodynamic Spitzer-type 12mm 40 gram FMJ lead projectile sits atop a 100mm length rimless brass cartridge with a center-fire primer.  Incendiary magnesium "tracer" versions of 12mm PMG projectile can be included upon request, colored in either orange-red or bright-green.
