Since it's been a day, if there's any doubt, the Bidding Phase has begun!

Please vote on what price you want to offer your clients. There's no downside to submitting your gun to both contracts, though you will probably only be able to fulfill one.

Behrens Semi-Automatic "Valturia" Pistol Mod. 1
This a relatively simple modification to the Valturia pistol. The barrel has been elongated to 125mm, lowering recoil and allowing us to use less robust recoil springs or possibly even no springs, as well as improving muzzle velocity and sight radius to functional levels. We'll also see about simplifying the two pins down to a single pin the barrel pivots on. Furthermore, the exterior barrel assembly and receiver will be nickel-plated to prevent corrosion and give it a nice finish.

I would suggest not making anything this round. This way our next payment will let us make a new assembly line. The PRP and AN are good contracts our current arm can fulfill. The question to the GM becomes if we can use the payment this turn to startup a new assembly line for them this turn and fulfill it, thereby getting ahead of the other team's curves.

An 8 or 12 credit profit, 2 from the last batch of our current. So no matter what we'd have enough for a revision next round. Our only competition is PM really, as they can cut the contract. With two running, the return will pay for itself.

Revision: Behrens Semi-Automatic "Valturia 11" Field Pistol

The barrel is elongated to 125 mm, and the dual springs are fully adopted to reduce recoil in addition to the advantages the longer barrel gives. Unlike the previous compact, this gun is designed to be full sized while maintaining the finished look of it's predecessor. The main difference is the additional of a cutting machine to reduce milling costs, along with the greater easy of manufacturing a larger gun allowing easier balancing of the slide. We've also made sure to make it more reliable with less jamming, making sure everything works in battlefield conditions, and finished it with a paint to protect it from the elements.

Possibly a Revision: Behrens Semi-Automatic "Valturia Deluxe" Compact Carbine
A substantial refit of the Valturia, the deluxe model boasts an extended barrel at 200mm long, bringing the weapon to approximately 300mm in total, in addition to a vertical foregrip for rapid and precise weapon control in tight situations. The weapon is then extended further with a carved and polished wooden stock. A carry along is also added, with secure anchor points on the barrel and stock. Finally, the box magazine is expanded to sixteen rounds in a double-stack format.

Obviously I like my carbine revision, but we can't afford to do two, and the CQC contract it aims for will still be valid next year.

Roll: 4
Difficulty: +2

Since some of the difficulty in making the original Valturia work came from making is small, elongating the barrel and slide is no problem. Although Colt went from a two-pin moving barrel design to a one-pin tilting design, I'm not sure what the real significance of that is, maybe it's just cheaper. As for finish, well, I already specified the Valturia had a "nice, silver finish" so a nickel plating might fit that descriptor anyway. I think I'll call it a freebie and say they're already corrosion resistant.

Valuturia Model 1.: This version of the Valturia pistol is larger, with a 125mm barrel and slide to match, which makes the recoil more controllable in addition to the other benefits conferred by a long barrel. Its operation is simplified slightly, to a single-pin tilting barrel. The operation difference and price difference carries over to the shorter version of the pistol. 23 credits.

Quote from: 1911 Contracts
Ira's 1st Army is looking to adopt a new general purpose infantry rifle. These should be able to fire to the maximum range possible while being accurate enough to hit enemy infantry lines in a volley. Bayonets are a requirement. They should also be very reliable. 2 Batches @ 40 credits, 5 prestige each. This contract will be available until 1913 if there are no bidders. Cancellation: -3 Prestige, Ira will not consider you for 1 contract.

Procino Royal Police are looking for a close-quarters firearm. They are conducting trials on a practice course which tests handling and marksmanship in a simulated indoor combat environment. They are comparing disparate weapons such as pistols, shotguns, and compact carbines. 1 Batch @ 36 credits, 6 prestige each. This contract will be available until 1913 if there are no bidders.

The Kingdom of Vostoy is looking for a machine gun: These will be emplacement weapons, most likely in rifle caliber or larger. Reliability, such as it is for machine guns, is a primary concern. Accuracy, range, and capacity for sustained fire are also factors, as well as ease of use. 2 Batches @ 60 credits, 8 prestige each. This contract will be available until 1912 if there are no bidders. Cancellation: -5 prestige, wanted for execution in Vostoy. Tip: depending on the design, costs of machine guns can vary considerably, but average around 40.

The Altussia Navy is looking for a service pistol: This will be carried by men on deck to repel boarders or any surprise attacks in docking operation. While it should have a certain level of accuracy and firepower to be considered acceptable, these will not be used very often. Therefore, they should be reliable after being carried loaded for a long time, and compact and comfortable to wear. Sailors will be carrying out all sorts of laborious tasks, so the pistols must not get in the way. Lower cost is also highly preferable. 2 Batches @ 32 credits, 4 prestige each. This contract will be available until 1912 if there are no bidders. No cancellation penalty.

Second contract nets us 13 credits. Fourth nets 9 credits. Thanks to cost reduction, we will see 7 credits coming in this turn. This brings us to 43 credits.

Suggest offering fourth contract at 30 Credits to tilt the favor. This means we can get 7 off it and make the production line to create it.
Second Contract is at the stated price, granting a 13 credit profit. On next turn if we get it we'd have 20 credits for a new design and 2 lines ready for contracts.
