I think I read every book. What am I supposted to do?

Look for a slab. The necros might not have written any books (on that topic). It's also possible someone else has taken the books (and the slab, which would only be present if the necro was an original one, rather than an apprentice setting out on his own), as the human caravan in my latest fortress keep bringing copies of such books on more or less every visit, and all the ones I've investigated were written by the same necro, so it obviously can happen.

Sometimes kobolds steal them. Check legends mode or a third party legends viewer utility.
