How to appoint a priest?
« on: September 15, 2020, 08:00:50 pm »

I'm on my third petition for a temple with a priest. I have my first temple built, the value raised well above 2k (it is confirmed as a temple) 5 instruments in a glass box, and 5 performers set. No idea if that's strictly necessary, but figured 5 instruments need 5 performers. But I can't see a way to appoint a priest.

Little worried I'm going to have a lot of pissed off parishioners from the three different sects if I can't find a way to get them their damn priests.

Press l for locations, scroll down to your temples and assign priests

Also note that you can have the situation that you can't assign a priest (no candidates available for the position) if all the followers are residents but not citizens. I had such a situation where I had to wait about a year for a follower to actually reach the stage where a second petition was made. However, I didn't see any complaints about the lack of a priest.

As Urist mcbayblade indicates, you assign priests the same way as you assign scholars and tavern poisoners.

Thanks for the responses. Back to this kinda late, got away from the game a bit.

I've been trying all along to appoint a priest just like you guys said. Only thing available to appoint seems to be an unlimited amount of performers. There are around 15-20 members of the religion in my fort. All of them are either original 7 or subsequent migrants (so citizens right?).  Still no option to appoint a priest that I see.

But if I don't get complaints, I don't much care. Unless a holy war develops (guessing a definite possibility in this game heh) messing with the temples and religion isn't where I care to focus anyway. Just trying to keep my peeps happy.
