The world's most valueble sock.

The merchants just came and one of the things they brought was a sock worth 3503...  That's 503 more than the steel plate just two items above it...

The sock is NOT an artifact, not a masterpiece, and not even well made.  Just a normal Giant Cave Spider silk sock.  So basically the value must all be in the decorations.  A finely designed image of two dimple cups in native silver, and a superiorly designed image of a dwarf in Rubicelle.  What the heck is Rubicelle?

I found some rubicelles in my fort. I think they're worth 60 monies rough, so they could indeed be worth quite a bit if they're handled by a good jeweller.

i love it when the gem setter or clothier picks a heavily worn item to enhance.

Or when there are stockpiles of items, and they make the trip out side the fort and halfway across the map to pick up an exceptional bolt I unforbid (to sell while the caravan was still there!) and then enhance it.  yay!

I had a masterwork non decorated sock that was worth nearly 11k, does that count? That's just one sock, btw

Good luck finding a matching pair.  An OCD dwarf would immediately tantrum and destroy half of your fort just from the concept of decorating only one sock.

I'd just like to know what possible economic use socks have with humans, dwarves, or elves.

lol, a human trade liaison decided to kill himself on one of my traps. And being a greedy dwarf one of my haulers decided to take the liaisons left silk sock with golden images designed on it worth 3000+.
