David also lunges for the wand, coveting it. If he gets it, he quickly scuttles away to figure out how it works. If he doesn't get it, he grumbles before wandering off in a random direction.

Grab the wand (threaten with the penknife if necessary!) and wave it wildly in the direction of the fighting!

Cor Gnosha manages to grab the wand, and begins waving it in the direction of the fight.

Nothing happens. It seems like it needs a little more intent than just being shaken to activate.

Go the other way.

Harangue begins walking the other way. The rest of the group, having finished some argument, appears to now be paying attention to the fight going on with the dogs.

"Damn birds!"
Keep stabbing the dog.

Bubba, having a pretty secure grip on the dog, continues stabbing. The injured dog slinks off, trying to make a retreat.

"Caw caw~"

Pluck out the other eye and go for the ears.

Dog: 10 - 3 (blinded) = 7

Nevermore swoops in, but the dog happens to be just a bit faster, and leaps out of the way.

Dog: 1 - 3 (blinded) = -2???
Nevermore: 10 + 2 (flying) = 12

The dog lunges at Nevermore with all its force, barking loudly in the process.

Unfortunately, the dog clearly can't see well, and has flung itself directly into a wall.

The dog falls to the ground with a THUD, having knocked itself unconscious.

Cortana runs up to the fighting, but it appears that the fighting has resolved itself, thankfully.

One of the dogs has been trying to escape off to the right, but other than that it seems like there's nothing else around.

Grab the boot and head through the rubble

Dino takes the boot and heads through the rubble.

Bubba, Nevermore, Cortana, and Harangue are all on this side, although Harangue is walking away.

Behind Bubba is a broken door where the dogs came from, leading to what looks like some sort of staircase, maybe? It's hard to make it out from this distance.

The rubble blocks David's path to the right, so he is forced to continue ahead.

He can see the same as Dino, as the party is now mostly on the other side of the rubble, except for Cor.

Uninterested in the affairs of the poors up ahead, Cor tries waving the wand at the rubble while trying to will it to open the path by whatever means it might be capable of. Like maybe fire or levitation. Trying to imagine specifics while keeping an open mind for variations.

Take a drink from my bottle then finish off the dogs, so they can't come after us again then go into that room they were in.

Get up the staircase

Uninterested in the affairs of the poors up ahead, Cor tries waving the wand at the rubble while trying to will it to open the path by whatever means it might be capable of. Like maybe fire or levitation. Trying to imagine specifics while keeping an open mind for variations.

Trying to will it to open the path, Cor takes the written wand, and begins to try and move the rubble.

It seems like not much happens at first, but the rubble quickly tumbles over itself, drawing itself closer to Cor. As long as Cor focuses, it doesn't seem to stop.

Bubba chases after the last dog, which (being wounded) is no match for a prime human specimen such as Bubba.

With no dogs around, the group enters the room.

Get up the staircase

The staircase doesn't go up, but it does go down.

Or at least, it would.

The entire room is flooded, in water just a few inches from the ceiling. Various work implements are floating on the surface, while everything else is completely submerged underwater.
