Promise the hobo a dollar if he clears out the rubble while I go investigate this left room.
Go to the room with the papers and workbench and read the papers using my flashlight
The room is definitely a workspace, all right. Papers line the room, and there are several things lying about. Along the back wall are a bunch of drawers, a couple of them left ajar from when the room was left. Dust has settled on every surface, and part of the wall has crumbled onto the floor, but for the most part the room is stable.
The papers contain some interesting notes.
The papers are arranged haphazardly. Some of them contain some diagrams which Cortana can't make heads or tails of, but a few are readable in plain English. It looks like these were used for communicating between teams working in shifts, before whatever happened here happened.
"Robertson, would you mind checking over my work when your shift is over? I won't be back in for the next week." - Simmons

"ATTN: Dr. Campbell: Please stop erasing my requests for chalk. We are running out and I need some more." - Respectfully, Dr. Robertson
"ATTN: Dr. Simmons: Your work is promising, but I believe we are missing something in your current model, which is why our current experiments have failed. Please see the model I have left for you when you return. This one appears to have some results."
"there's plenty of writing tools in the drawer robertson you don't need more" - campbell
"ATTN: Dr. Campbell: While you are correct that writing implements in general are fully stocked, chalk specifically is running quite low, and I need it to continue my studies." - Respectfully, Dr. Robertson
"you can clearly write back to me why don't you just use that like everyone else" - cbell
"Can someone please get the wand I dropped behind the drawers? It was supposed to be for Dr. Simmons, and I'd like it to be here when he gets back." - Kimberly
"ATTN: Dr. Campbell: Although you may see the various forms of writing as interchangeable, I find that my research works best when I am able to use the blackboard. Please refrain from erasing my requests in such an unacceptable manner. Additionally, I would prefer if, as scientists, we could write our messages properly in a sensible fashion." - Respectfully, Dr. Robertson
"maybe if you spent more time researching and less time writing these messages "properly" we'd finish the fire project by now haha" - campbell
(There is evidence a very long paper was posted here, but it appears to have been torn down since then. Only the text "espectfu... obertson" remains at the bottom, attached to the wall.)
"Has anyone figured out what » refers to yet?" - Kimberly
On the workbench is a heavily used pencil, an empty box of chalk, and a wand, with a note reading "Simmons" attached to it.
Well, if we can see somewhat past the rubble, a cat can easily squeeze past. Go on ahead and inspect the glowy red thing closer.
Also, are there any scents or distant sounds?
It's some sort of cool glowy stick, giving off a bright red light. It doesn't light very much up, but it seems to work pretty well for a stick.
There's a smell of ash coming from down the hallway, but it doesn't seem like there's any sort of fire at the moment. The only sounds Harangue can hear are the rest of the group shuffling about, and Nevermore flapping around above.
Fly outside the building and go to where the collapsed roof is. If it collapsed, there should be gaps I can squeeze through to reach the other side.
The roof has left a large hole in the ceiling. Nevermore can easily fly through, and can see Harangue messing with some kind of shiny wand.
Take a swig from my bottle, then grab the gloves from the floor and put them on then carefully start pulling the rubble away.
The gloves fit quite well, and moving the rubble is difficult, but possible. The gloves keep the dirt and sharp parts at bay, long enough for Bubba to clear a small hole to fit through.
Name: David Kent
Description: Always tapping his foot and checking his pocket watch, David Kent is the sheer embodiment of impatience.
Why do you want to check out the research center?: Those damn researchers have gone on break or something? At this important time? Fine, David supposes - he will have to do it himself.
Pick a couple of small items you'd like to take with you: Silver-Chained Pocket Watch

That works, you're in. Since it's only turn two, for all intents and purposes you've been standing with the party since they walked in.
((Got room for another player?))
Sure.
Seven seems like a good number for now, so I'll go ahead and make that the limit, and maybe increase it later depending on how things go.
