Finding out ``exactly`` what is meant by your dwarves needs is at the present moment a exercise only took out by people who conduct science into all the stimuli. There are some things that many players don't have clear answers about.

For example, what is 'to wander'? I've personally heard many different accounts of how people experienced it and also how people supposedly filled the need without realising, this isn't a question thread but its a relevant example of a opauque need and the nessecity for a shorthand explanation built into the game.

Word by word highlighting in blue by navigating down the screen with key-presses, the suggestion would let me interrogate information from it such as how to fufill and likely activities it may be involved in.

She has not prayed to Shorast The Magnificent Depths Recently
"Prayer to a diety is a activity that can occur in a temple zone, dwarves can also attend sermons with priests for relief from this need & religious dances"

"She is a dubious worshipper of Shorast The Magnificant Depths, her faith may be easily questioned & waived"
((The additional messages above is subtext related to the current dwarf, often seen when negative or larely positive above median and contains advice about the likely behaviours for this field))

In being able to gather more information about things in pre-embark and gameplay, rather than holding the player's hand it offers a interesting insight for scrutizining dwarves for roles more effectively for your managers, scholars, & site leaders.

And in terms of scrutinizing values.

She thinks the quest for knowledge is a delusional fantasy
"Enthusiasm for knowledge is more likely to produce experts in scholarly fields, and both the foundation & collection of books for libraries.

"This value is lower than average for the [creatures] of [civilzation], she would be a neglectful scholar"
((Though the value will already be highlighted if its differencial to the civ they hail from, this is a helpful summary of the likely consequences again of below or over median values & the present situation))

The end goal would be to have every dwarf fortress player to be able to investigate the living requirements to dwarven happyness much more thoroughly which is as much as i can probably hope for.
