I'm thinking I might have to make some changes regarding ship size for the next game.

And also tweak the Defence/ Offence Balance, because getting that killing blow is apparently very difficult.

I would recommend making armor expendable just like all other components (i.e., two hits or three or whatever to destroy the armor and then you're through for good).

Turn 10

The solitary battleship weathered a hail of enemy fire without batting an eye, as the weakened batteries of the Ayes and the Koganasun made them unable to overwhelm the defences despite the assistance of the T-Lock. In response, a veritible disco of lasers hits the Koganasun, burning additional holes in the aft of the vessel and destroying all but one final Mass Driver.

As this looks like it's going to turn into a slow death spiral, the following rule has been added:

A ship at Extreme Range from all opponents can retreat by Jumping out of the battle. The ship will no longer take part, but only its Destroyed/Jury Rigged modules will be considered for scoring purposes.

Redirect damage control on Mass Driver in Section 10 to Jump Drive on Section 2, Fire on Mandator, Jump as far away from Mandator as possible

Turn 11

Recognising a losing fight when he sees it, the captain of the Ayes orders the Jump Drive to power up. All they had to do was survive for a few precious minutes as a solution was calculated and the coils spooled up, and they would be well away from that monster of a warship.

To buy some time, the RED fleet continued to fire pn the Mandator, hoping against hope to score some sort of hit that would help guarantee their escape. A wish the battleship was not inclined to allow them. Leaving the near impotent Axe-class to its own devices, the laser arrays turn on the Ayes, quickly overwhelming its shield and drilling deep into the fore of the vessel. The Jump Drive barely had time to start warming up before multiple shots melt the delicate computer to slag, crippling the frigate in the gaze of a very angry battleship.
