"Yes, sir! We'll get it done."

Rika wasn't sure how much help she could be clearing the fiends out, but she could at least try to move villagers out of harm's way if she got close enough.

When the professor nodded at Lin earlier, she bobbed her head slightly in acknowledgement, but stayed silent. Her focus seemed to be elsewhere; more specifically, she was focusing on how her adjustments changed the feel of her prosthetic leg on the ground. She decided she was happy with it - for now, anyway, there were always improvements to be made - and returned her attention to Ramsay as he waited for questions.
"Um. . . what's the heat tolerance like on these?" She gestured vaguely at one of the facsimile buildings. "Realistic?"

"Understood Professor. Believe me when I say that we'll give one of the best performances this academy has ever witnessed" Reeve replied, filled to the brim with excitement now that she could finally get to show off a bit once more. The tasks given were simple enough so that even the most foolish of individuals could understand, and it was that simplicity which would make proving herself, and her class, a "walk in the park", as some would say.

"If there are no further questions, let us begin the test."

Soon, the test area is set back up, the volunteers get back in place, and the Automata are deployed. They look like....well, versions of the Fiends you've studied in classes, made from metal plates bolted together, with stained glass 'eyes', claws made from depleted Alphinite crystals, and an Alphinite crystal inset in their chests functioning as their power source. The Automata get into position around you, as Professors Ramsay and Lucerne leave the test area.

"Class 3-F, your test starts now."

"I'm not scared!"
"Grraaah!" she roared 'fiercely' as she charged up towards the nearest group of fiends.

Mordecai, not wishing to leave a bad impression, leaves a great impression by practically obliterating one of the spider-like Fiends with a blast of shadows. Ungoliants, regularly found after Calamities, are among the most common of Fiends; actual Ungoliants are notorious for having venomous fangs and even the capability to spit venom or shoot webs, but it seems that replication of those capabilities was beyond Professors Estelle and Ramsay.

Ungoliant Automaton B is defeated!

"Good."
"Great shot, Mordecai! Keep it up!"

Reeve, meanwhile, makes her own entrance. While not nearly as flashy as Mordecai outright obliterating one, it's not bad.

Delwyn settled into a fairly serious fighting stance with her kama as Mordecai and Reeve blew up and nearly blew up some automata near her.

"Someone's going to have to clean that up."

"So... Here I go, I guess."
