Himiko calmly takes it, reading it and muttering under her breath. Joel frowns.
"Himiko, is it....."
"....it is as I thought. These were Kuriyama men sent to spy on us."
Joel looks even more troubled about this than Himiko. She simply sighs.
"Right. Okay. You guys, thank you so much. We'll take it from here, you guys go back. If you can, tell the staff about what happened. Also, if you can, tell Jack and Kaede about it. They'll need to know."

"Y'all sure you don't need us to escort you back? Just in case these heathens wanna try something again?"

[SirAston]

"Figured as much. After all, it is the price to pay for being born into nobility."

Kruger dusts off his uniform.

"No need to, Rika. The police should arrive soon. The president and vice-president are better under their care than under ours. But, one thing before we go..."

"Miss Kuriyama. Our ties to Yamajima may be rather limited, but nonetheless, House Wallhaim shall be your ally if you ever need our assistance. I swear it by my name and the glory of Rheinberg."

He places his right fist over his heart and stands firm, an archetypical salute in the Confederate. Of course, not being the current patriarch of the family limits Kruger's options severely, something that should be obvious to anyone who is of aristocratic descent or knows enough about it, but the gesture alone carries power.

His pose then relaxes and he bids farewell for the moment. He takes a mental note to inform the staff and their two friends from 3-C as soon as possible.

Arnett looked very nervous about this revelation.

"They... they would go this far? I..." Arnett held his shoulders with his gaze turned at the ground. His Imago continued to stand behind him, neither giving sympathy nor comfort. "I don't understand noble families..."

"Don't worry about it. We saw this coming. Trust us, we'll handle it from here."

Arnett nodded.

"Okay... I know I can't really do much, just paint— but if there's anyway painting can help, please let me know...!"

Arnett suddenly realized how silly of an idea this sounded and avoided further eye contact. How would painting help?

[SirAston]

Kruger places his hand on Arnett's shoulder.

"That's the spirit. There is a time and use for any activity."

He then nods towards Himiko.

"We shall see you again. Take care, you two."

And with that, Kruger began to walk away.

"Well, all right then."

"Y'all take care now. Let us know if you need anything."

With a little wave - and a short pause to let Arnett say his farewells to the pair - Rika set off following her fellow countryman.

As you make the bus trip back to Solrise, satisfied that Himiko and Joel will be safe in the hands of the police, you are left with the thoughts of what just happened.

But also, considering the recent match you had, that those poor Kuriyama goons have something else coming if they intend to come after the two lovebirds.

You return to the cafeteria, where Jack and Kaede are still chatting, this time with Kaede holding a cup of coffee.
"....so yeah, that's how Maximus and I kinda ended up shopping for clothes together. He's a sweet guy. He really knows his stuff when, you know, he's comfortable. Maybe I should...oh, hey. We saw you guys heading out with the Prez and Vice Prez earlier. How'd it go? Something happen?"
"Tell us. Did they spill? Was I right?"

[SirAston]

"Well, something did indeed happen."
"Kuriyama family business, that is."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"....Kuriyama family business? What kind of business?"
"Damn, again?"

[SirAston]

"We engaged in self-defense against Kuriyama agents who were spying on them and then, when we confronted them about it, physically threatened us and Princess Isabeau du Archambault, who happened to be there at the time."
"Speaking of. I am certain that I keep an eye on recent political developments, but the Tenebrous Kingdom eludes my memory. Is it a recently-formed nation? Do you know something about it?"

"....Tenebrous....Kingdom? Princess? Did you get that from a novel? Anyway....Kuriyama agents, again? Damn it. Okay. Did the police get involved? Did they say anything? We'll take it to Professor Carver, whatever you have, in any case."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Kruger and Arnett gave them a licking and then we called the cops on them. We scooted on home before they got there though."

"That Isabeau girl is an odd duck but I don't think she means any harm, but I reckon you'd have to ask her about the princess thing. Tenebrous ain't no place I ever heard of."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Isabeau....was she Professor Ververs was talking about? We're getting a surprising amount of transfer students this year. You, Christine, Felix and now this  Isabeau.....well, anyway, I've never heard of the 'Tenebrous Kingdom', so you'd have to ask her about it. Anyway, thanks for the information. We'll get it to the headmaster and see what we can do."
