Lin glanced around, watching Arnett be dragged off to parts unknown and Kruger chatting with Delwyn on the way to, presumably, the library. She looked around at who remained. Vicky was always telling her to talk to more people, and she could probably use a study partner, so. . .

She walked towards Cattleya, then awkwardly paused and took a few steps backward. Attempting to pretend she hadn't just conducted this odd ritual, she then greeted the other girl while walking back into normal distance.
"Hi."

As the group heads towards the library, they hear someone running up behind them down the corridor. It's Kaede.
"Hey! You guys have a minute?"

Taking note of the sound of someone approaching her class, Reeve turned to the source, raising an eyebrow at the woman she saw coming towards them, if only for the fact that it was Kaede of all people running towards them.


"Oh, Miyajima, what do you need? Are our dear President and Vice-President having some more issues again?"

"Well, yeah, but that's not what I was going to ask about."
"Jack wanted to arrange a sort of....wager with Elma. As you know, the next Combat Training class will be another sparring session between our classes. Elma bet on you guys to win our spar, Jack bet on us. We've got a pot running for 1000 thalers. If we win, we get the money. If you win, you get the money. You in?"

[SirAston]

"Really now..."
"We are all trained to become the elite in our respective fields so that we can turn this world into a better place for everyone. There is no sense nor need in fighting against each other, and our main enemies are too inhumanoid to justify sparring against each other for the purpose of gaining proper combat experience against Fiends."

Kruger then starts to stretch his arms all of a sudden.

"However, to solidify the basics of combat and automatize movements even further is always a splendid idea. It's not like I have the right to decide on my classmates' behalf anyway and, well, knowing them..."

"Our main enemies, yes. But there's always bandits and criminals to deal with, Wallhaim, and they're likely to use Artes. That's one of the dangers facing the Elerian Order in the wake of any Calamity outside of Fiends. I'd have thought someone like you would have done a little historical reading on rogue Order members and Artes users fighting the Order...."

[SirAston]

"That, of course, is correct, Miyajima."
"I dislike that thought oh so very much, but you are correct."

Cattleya flicked her tail a couple of times before finally she nodded, gracefulyl accepting the apology. From the corner of her eye, she saw Lin approaching and greeting her, and her catlike sharp instincts meant she didn't take fright as the horned girl walked up.
"Oh, hello, Weylan. Do you need something?"

[Chevaleresse]

"Um." She briefly wondered how much to say, pausing awkwardly in the conversation. "I was wondering if you needed a study partner." There, that was good, right?

[GiglameshDespair]

"Well, I don't need need one..." Cattleya responded pridefully.
"I am, however, happy to let you be my study partner, if you want. Which you obviously do, otherwise you wouldn't have asked."

[Chevaleresse]

"Okay. Um, I actually know the material decently well, I just. . . work better with someone else around. To bounce around ideas and stuff. Yeah." Something about her tone was rather unconvincing, though it wasn't clear whether she was lying about something or just that uncomfortable talking to someone that wasn't Vicky.

"That's fine by me, though you don't sound very sure."

[Chevaleresse]

"I am. Um, don't worry about it." She almost slapped herself. This sounded incredibly suspect for something so innocuous. "Where do we want to work?"

"Well, there's only so much one can learn from destroying mindless fiends and automatons. Sparring against equals lets us hone our in the event something big becomes makes an appearance."


"But, while I can hardly speak for the entirety of the class, but I shall accept Jack's challenge. Of course, I hardly planned to lose anyway."

"I'd hope so, Reeve. Planning your own loss would be very weird in the first place."
